Thank you, Tim for this video! It saved me $$ and I was able to finally get my ET4 running today after I removed the evap for good! Cheers!

Tim, watched your video's with interest since I have a 2003 Vespa 150 ET4 and could you tell me where you obtain parts like Oil filters, crank case "o" ring, crush gasket for transmission drain plug and what engine oil do you use, I know what the manual calls for, but where I live anything like what I need is in heard of. Thanks

Honestly my biggest source of parts is eBay , but if I am in a pickle and cant find it there , www.scooterwest.com/ is a great source of parts and their videos are great on here . As for motor oil , I use just about any 5w-40 full synthetic , locally Castrol 5W-40 synthetic is usually pretty easy to find and I use that , 5w-40 can be harder to find, but most Autoparts stores carry it in the States, you will need just over a liter , so if you order it , get more than you think you will need , nothing would be more terrible than having to order more and waiting to finish a oil change !

Great video Tim! Do you know how to bypass the Vespa SAS ?

+Abner Björn I've not done one ....yet ! I looked around and outside of buying a block off plate it seems pretty painless www.scooterwest.com/item_details/SAS-System-Block-Off-Plate-150cc-Vespa/10445 . And this link , bottom of the page has instructions on how to remove it modernvespa.com/forum/topic68388 .
When mine starts acting up I will be sure to document its removal !

Curious as to if you had any more issues, stalling or otherwise, after this mod? I am thinking of removing my system as I get stalling issues and a lame duck sound for several minutes after I shut off my Vespa ET4.

It's been trouble free ever since ! Best two things you can do for the ET4 is this mod and never running gas with ethanol in it !

hello tim, I ve just bought an et4 150 2004 for a really good price cuz it came with some problems. This is my first ever scooter so Im new in these things. Should I do this and why ? how does my scooter benefit from it ?

The evap system can cause rough idle , hard starts and other issues on the ET4 . I removed mine over starting issues , but for me another benefit was the removal of " extra baggage" in the engine compartment , and the simplification of the fuel system . All that said , unless you live in an area that has emissions testing for small motors , there is no reason not to rip that garbage off your bike !

hi!this work will increase the efficiency? thanks

No power or efficiency gains to be had with this mod , BUT , It does remove dead weight and a poorly designed emissions control garbage from a great little motor , prevents possible problems with hard starts and if you accidentally overfill your gas tank ( easy to do on the ET4 ! ) gas flows right onto your air filter and ruins it !

I filled my scooter, drove it home and parked it. I did overfill it slightly. Now when I start it, and give it gas it tries to die out. Think it could be my air filter is soaked in gas. After watching this video, thats my first thought. Its a 2001 et4, but only has 650 original miles. Really don't want to remove the Evan system or anything else for that matter. Also, seems like (since I bought it off the original owner) that it has always been a bit sluggish taking off. Please let me know and thank you for the video Tim. I subbed.
