- Retro Maniacs! So a few of you requested, I do a video on General Lee diecast cars, and the different quality and price points. So I decided to show you guys some of the different General Lees on the secondary market today. From the vintage toy grade 1/25 from the early 80s, all the way up to what I consider the best of the best (watch the video to see what’s the best). And what to expect to pay for all of these. Also talk about strategies of finding them, since they are no longer sold at retail, to what the rarest ones are. So tune in, have a Cheech, and grab a snack! Cuz you and me have a date with the General!
Thanks for watching guys! Please LIKE, SUBSCRIBE and SHARE, and as always, HAPPY HUNTING!!

I just got a lights and sound General Lee off eBay for less than $100 US. In great shape and the sound is loud and clear. I also modified a 1/18 ‘69 Charger R/C with a hemi into a Gen Lee by removing the hemi, using putty to smooth out the hood and repainting it and adding after market decals.
Very cool! These older ones are $$$ now so good score my friend! And thanks for watching! I would love to make a custom RC General Lee one day
And I should have said, my friends have scored some good deals in the eBay auctions. I’ve gotta try that! I go by the buy it now etc. I should try to bid on something one day soon. Lol.
I got lucky! It was a 6 day auction and no one countered my offer. I only paid $10 US over the ask! Thanks for the video on the shop at Dixie Mall. I've got to get there.
Wow that’s awesome buddy and yes I highly recommend the guy at Dixie he had everything I wanted hahaha
you have been to amazing places and met amazing people , very kool
Thank you buddy
I also have the Auto World 1/18 version which has the antenna on the trunk and movable headlight louvers, got it for a steal from a desperate sale on eBay still sealed in it's original box, love it!
Yeah! Yeah that’s the BEST version made! Thank you for watching!
It ture I live far away from anywhere and paid large on ebay and I've known him for half my life.
I have the original ertl 1/18 general lees inc the dirty version. Since seeing this video I really had to get this silver screen version which as you say is great - I managed to buy one as new condition but has been displayed. It’s fantastic. Then last night I saw advertised an as new with all straps etc in place so bought that as well to keep in box - I may cut and loosen the straps
Oh buddy there you go!!! Yeah I have the older American muscle chrome chase as well, but the silver screen machines for details oh boy! Yeah I stare at mine all the time hahaha. I even got the littke vintage 3 3/4 Mego bo and Luke figures to display with it! Glad you got one my friend!
I just bought the ERTL General Lee with the black interior new in the box on Ebay, I didn't mind the interior if I could get a good deal. It was listed $180 OBO and we whittled it down to $135 with $10 shipping. As a casual fan of the show, that was the kind of deal I could live with, it looks great, it's a collectable piece, and I finally have a nice General Lee for my collection. I don't expect perfection for $145 like I certainly would for $250 or $300, everything's relative.
Oh yeah, for sure I would totally have one of those.
@@RetroCollectables My stunning ERTL flag box year one General Lee arrived yesterday in truly mint condition in an unopened box, the tape was original and man it's even nicer in person than I thought it would be; the photos don't do it justice. But I have to say that Ebay is one weird place isn't it. I bought my "or best offer" General Lee for $135 after starting out at $180 and today on Ebay the same exact model in the same condition sold for $251, $18 shipping with 45 bids, and all the while right next to it in the listings was the exact same model, same year, same condition listed as "Buy It Now" for $199 with free shipping. It's like people get emotionally invested in bidding on an item and lose themselves, I don't know if it's the process or what, but I know that's not smart. If people buy them for more than I paid I'm happy, if I find someone paid less than me for the same thing I'm pissed, it's just how I'm built as a collector searching for a bargain. The only thing better for a collector than having a great model is how much you got it for. A good deal satisfies the soul.
Nothing beats the original AutoWorld 1:18
Nope I agree! It’s the best
I've spent a small fortune on the 1/18 scale. I have two General Lee's,Smokey and the Bandit 1&2,A-Team van,Greased Lightning,Knight Rider,Starsky & Hutch and the 1966 Batmobile
Me too my friend I’m hooked hahaha love this stuff!
@@RetroCollectables I just bought an ERTL General Lee for 160.00 I been looking forever for one at a decent price
Please, do the same on the little 1:64 cars.....
Recently Johnny Lightning broughtout the weatherd one....looking great.
Oh awesome we have some of those small weathered ones here. The barn find! I’ll show one next video we do for you!
That would be awesome. E. Really appriciate@@RetroCollectables
I have the Autoworld and Cooter's Place but really want the ERTL also from 1981
Yeah the OG isn’t as detailed as our new ones but it’s still the OG. You’ll get one
@@RetroCollectablesI just got one for 160.00
Cooters place has a 1/18 General Lee from auto world costs $160 dollars with cb antenna, and other's
But General Lee are expensive but if you're lucky you could get cheap
I have a ertl General Lee 1/64
Same with Boss Hoggs caddy then some trading cards
Then i have a midgetoy Dixie Charger
General lee and sheriff rosco
Not Dukes Of Hazzard but a ertl GMC Sierra from Fallguy
Very cool! And the cooters ones are just as nice as the silver screen, made by the same people! And can’t beat the 1/64 that’s the OG! I had that as a boy too!
I have a TH-cam account for decades and this is the first video of a fellow collector that show and explain how autograph item should have an authentication and why it is important. If you get your item signed to have evidence.
On a side note… what do you think of the Ramen Racer?
Wow, thank you so much my friend for that compliment. Yeah, I always stressed out about COAs and even COA can be dodgy themselves.! And wow I just googled that ramen racer! Wow is that diecast! Dammit, it’s sold out. I wish I knew about it.! What scale is it? Is it diecast? I’ll be looking into that thank you!
What value would you put on a 2003 ERTL American Muscle Collector's Edition General Lee with the bonus 1:64 die-cast car inside? Never opened or displayed.
The one with the car if the box and everything is in good shape, probably around $300 cad. Glenn has that one somewhere. It has a little bit extra value than the rest of them because it comes with the smaller version.
I got the cooter garage exclusive 1/18 General lee but it has no decals bc the ones that cooters garage sends with it never fit correctly or stay on
For real??? That sucks! I didn’t know there was issues with those
i’m having a problem I’m looking for the auto world silver screen general lee 1/18 but the ones i’ve seen the doors open… did they the reissue this one ? the box looks exactly like yours. Weird even on the back of box says opening doors
None of the doors on the silver screen should open. I have heard on earlier releases that they used less glue and some people pried the doors open, but they shouldn’t have been able to open. The cooters place one by auto world I’m not sure if the doors open. Mine the box says opening doors but they do not. They tried to make it like the show with the doors welded shut. Check this one out. Made by Autoworld same quality. I’m not sure about the doors but it’s a good one. Only thing is you put on the decals which are included. But it’s still in retail at cooters! cootersplace.com/cooters-garage-1969-dodge-charger-with-general-lee-decal-kit/
@@RetroCollectables I don’t like the cooters release. I’ve seen them side by side with the autoworld and it looks like a cheap chinese knockoff. I guess the ones on ebay some of the sellers have pried the doors open it’s a shame hard to shop online i wish there was places in ontario i could shop for stuff like this.
Hi, does your auto world silver screen general lee 1:18 have paint rash ? all the ones i have tried to buy all have this problem. I’m looking for a complete mint one, problem is on the internet many sellers are not honest :(. just wondering if this is a common issue with the 1/18. These things are going for over 400 cnd plus taxes now
Wow yeah mine doesn’t have paint rash. and I would shop around my friend. If you are in Canada like me. I wouldn’t pay over $300 for one (I got Glenns mint and sealed for $250 for him). If your in Canada I would avoid eBay, and watch for one on marketplace and Kijiji. Also, you can still order this one. Same quality. You just have to put the decals on, which are included

@@RetroCollectables ya man even market place guys are trying to sell them for 500-700 dollars this is nuts ebay is another big joke
@@RetroCollectables the only thing i don’t like about cooters is it has the fender light side markers and the emblem “charger” on the sides.
@@RetroCollectables yes i’m in canada another issue i’m facing no one wants to ship these from market place or kijji. How long ago did you get glens ?
Jesus he talks a lot of shite
Yus!!
