Olympian Suni Lee on the ‘DWTS’ Advice Simone Biles Gave Her

- Olympic gold medalist Suni Lee is ready to come out of her shell on “Dancing with the Stars”!
She spoke to “Extra’s” Terri Seymour about joining Season 30 and the advice she got from fellow gymnast Simone Biles, who placed fourth during her “DWTS” run.
“She told me that it was very hard,” Suni said. “But she also said that it’s not gonna be as hard as anything I ever did competing for the Olympics or leading up to the Olympics. So that helped a lot. She just told me to come out here and have fun, because it’s very fun.”

I feel similarly. The media's excessive focus on Simone may have been a factor in her getting the twisties during the Olympics. But that moment of adversity did give Suni & the rest of the team their chance to shine, which they did. All 6 were resilient in the face of extraordinary circumstances (1-year postponement, no fans in the stands, etc). I for one would love to see Suni return for Paris 2024, if that's what she wants.
Because Simone is the GOAT. If Simone didn’t have the weight or the world because of her abuse everyone knows she would’ve dominated the Games.
@@Elong. is this really necessary? Simone is amazing but again Suni is amazing by her own right. Even before Simone dropped out Suni qualified for the AA, bars and beam finals all on her own. Suni would have came home with multiple medals even with Simone in the mix. All I’m saying is let Suni shine on her own, they don’t always have to connect her name to Simone.
Yes!!! Even though I’m writing this two years later, I completely agree even now!!! Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love Simone but after just watching them in the 24 Olympics I feel like the other girls don’t get as much recognition as she does! Idk, I just think that must be hard for them at times!! I absolutely love Suni though, she is beyond stunning and then her body!!! Omg, I think she has the most beautiful and graceful body out of all the girls I saw competing!!! Also, coming back from how sick she was and to look LIKE THAT and also be back competing and at the OLYMPICS to boot!!! I mean damn, that girl must have some serious super human inner and outer strength that’s all I know!!! I can’t even muster the strength to get up and get something out of the damn fridge!!! 😂😂😂 I shouldn’t laugh because I’m really not even kidding!!! Am I the only one who wishes they could press the reset button on their life and do it over and be better, try harder and find something that truly makes you happy!!! I do, everyday!!!
Suni is genuine, natural and so down to earth. So young but so mature. We love you Suni!!!🥰
It’s so funny seeing her so cute and shy like this because when she preforms your would never know this is her personality she absolutely kills it
Let’s hope she stays that way. I wouldn’t want her to change into one of those “packaged” celebs.

She's probably the only gymnast that I've seen in a long time that actually dance in her floor routine so I think she'll do fine in DWTS. However, perfecting the different dancing techniques might be a challenge for her because she's been trained to be focus most of her life in elite gymnastic.

Probably an unpopular comment. But an early DWTS fan here. I've stopped watching DWTS for years now, so I don't know who this interviewer ... but so cringy. And why does everything lead back to Biles. Yes, Biles is a great gymnast. But can we have interviews with other gymnast without bringing up Biles? This will be fun for Suni.
On another note, Shawn Johnson was crazy amazing on DWTS when she won.
I had the same thought on Simone-Suni. I’m fans of them both but it’s gonna get old fast if they constantly ask Suni about Simone. Suni is great by her own right and I hope she gets the focus she deserves
She’s a long time interviewer for Extra. She dated Simon Cowell for quite a few years.
I agree the over the top gushing interviewer was ridiculous. I couldn't watch it all.
Biles has inspired so many gymnasts over the years, Suni is one of them. Suni has said that she considers Simone as a role model, a teacher, a very close friend, so she doesn't feel any awkwardness when being asked questions that involve her.

Rather than risk permanent, castrophic injury to herself, she stepped aside and her well trained team mates stepped up. Did you see her vault where she lost her place mid air? You nut job.
