When I select the shape-builder tool, it highlights all the divisions rather than one! Why? Is it that I can't keep up with all the updates? I have the latest CC version, and I feel like just when I figure out how to do something it changes.
I also had trouble with creating my first line segment from the center. When I hovered over the center to start my line, the cursor would show a circle, and when I clicked, it would drag the whole circle instead of making a line segment! Similarly, if I tried to start at the anchor point, the cursor would change to a different circle (with a radius tick in it). When I clicked to draw out the line, it would stretch/squish the circle!
These seem to be brand new features meant to make transformations quicker, I think, which would be great if drawing a line segment on an anchor was still an option by holding shift or alt or something. But it's not an option.
Any tips would help. Note that I update Illustrator within the past month. I'd love to hear from someone with the most up-to-date version, so they can see what I'm talking about.

+drawitoutlady I think you got trapped as the way as I.. When you make the line, dont stop at the circle border, drag it over, continue the line a little, as the video shows :)

there is not possible to set a curor at the equal center!

1. With the "smart guides" turned on is should be fairly easy to find the center point.
2. Another way to show the center point is to double click on the "artboard tool" and select "show center mark" from the "Display" options.
3. Best way however is to draw a circle first and then use the "Align" window. Be sure "Align to Artboard" is check and choose "Horizontal and Vertical Align Center. I hope this will help. Thank you for watching!

Is there a way to keep the lines, but only to the side of the circle and to keep the circle black and white when merging? All I need is a simple white circle with 13 parts divided by black lines (and after that I want to put the number 1-13 in the segments

Yes, first draw a circle, then draw a straight line coming out of the top anchor point of your circle. Next, select the line and then rotate it around the circle 13 times. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
