You are amazing! I’ve been studying “Americanized” Brazilian grooves all my life, but so incredible to see these rhythms in their authentic context! Thanks for these vids!
Master Brazilian drummer is precisely what you are Sir! I enjoy watching and learning new and different approaches to the drumset. Thanks for sharing the information and providing inspiration to get better.
Usually I'm a bit skeptical of drumming videos on youtube, but by the beauty of his tuning alone I was sold. Thanks for such a wonderful lesson led by example.
Haha the power of a smooth push pull technique. Check out th-cam.com/video/LL0C3aNJrKg/w-d-xo.html , Just the first few minutes are necessary. Once it becomes ultra efficient you can barely tell it's there, and from some angles on some hands, you can't. Of course I could be wrong and he's just really fast, but it looks like a little wiggle is happening in his fingers to me.
I wish to share here an another possibility about it too. You can play it making variations using paradiddle pattern, for example (I have learned about it seeing a video from Vera Figueiredo =)). Trying to play Baiao Rhythm making a paraddidle pattern in ghost notes with accentuation (hands playing cymbals/snare drum and playing a bass drum pattern together) it's very interesting =)
Check out any record by Trio Corrente or Vento em Madeira You can also check his solo material or Chico Pinheiro's first record called only Chico Pinheiro These records are in streaming services like Spotify You can also find here on TH-cam a lot of concerts with him. Check this Yamandu concert: th-cam.com/video/214jXdxvfdg/w-d-xo.html or even better here with his Trio: th-cam.com/video/Hu4o22G7TBk/w-d-xo.html
Great! But he's mixing the different rhythms of Forró in one nice blend :) The Baião, Forró, Xaxadu rhythms... But he's showing Baião in the end.. small differences

How much practice I would need until achieving what you shown in just two minutes! That was incredible, thanks!
2:27 the 16th notes on the right hand are crazy it's like a moller 4stroke or something at times
