When Azure told his story about Wukong’s “betrayal”, did it not occur to him that he probably didn’t have a choice? The Jade Emperor was probably going to destroy them all for attacking heaven, and Wukong probably sacrificed himself to spare the others. And that “gift” he got from the Tang monk, if the writers did their research on the JTTW thoroughly enough, would give him headaches so painful, that it would feel his skull was being crushed. Either Azure has a bad memory, or he prefers to assume the worst in others instead of finding the truth like Macaque has
He seemed to realize Wukong was enslaved by the celestials to fight them. But he seems free of whatever enslaved him when he saw Wukong, and yet he isn't against the celestials anymore. So he probably assumes that like DBK he was swayed by them or lost his nerve to fight against them and may be called on by the Jade Emperor against him. Not to mention at the end of Journey to the West he got his new fancy celestial title as the fighting buddha so to Azure it would be evidence that Wukong has fully been broken by the Jade Emperor
Chris Sabbat always brings his A-game, but I am such a fan of this gentle, sincere voice he does for Azure. You can hear how much this conflict hurts him.
@@AppleHamato2007 has anybody considered that it could be not as it seems? Maybe he was transported to a far off realm, or he was taken by the underworld guy who set this all up to keep his pawn from talking/break him into a slave. I'm just trying to be hopeful, here, so I'm probably wrong
I’ve never think azure lion is never the bad guy. His ideals pretty much clouded his judgment towards the jade emperor. To me, I think what azure is doing thought it was right, but in complete opposite.

I lost all sympathy for Azure Lion when he took the DBK family😡❤️🔥 Also him outright BLAMING MK for Sun Wukong getting trapped in the scroll???!!!! MK's been through enough and already blames himself for so many things that were out of his control, and Azure takes away the one person (besides Macaque of course) who understands what MK's going through, and tells him it's HIS FAULT???😡😡😡
Update on the fun fact: after turning into the villain his eyes are ether completely covered in shadows-like a metaphor about his ideals blinding him or how his ideals are obviously villains title worthy but behind the shadows his him wanting to be a hero-or are completely around his eyes, like Yellowtusk and Peng’s eyeshadows, which is similar to azures fur-skin?-colour. Also a fan fact: when there’s shadows covering his eyes he’s usually quiet, ether hearing out Yellowtusk and Peng or just alone and not talking, like he’s scared about what he has to do but hides behind his good intentions to keep himself on his journey, which leads to his death.
