Joe Frazier was one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time, who lived in Philadelphia. While a statue of the
fictional Rocky stands prominently at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, a statue of Joe Frazier was relegated to a not so
prominent location at the Philadelphia sports complex.

    • @philpennington826

So what you're saying is....they put up a Rocky statue at an ART museum...movies being a form of ART....and they put up a statue of a REAL boxer at a...SPORTS venue...BOXING being a...SPORT...and this is somehow an issue???

I saw another explanation of this event, badly organised. It was a 48 hr event with people camping overnight, first day was a music concert and comedy on the second. With the fatigue, drugs and alcohol consumed the second day event was always going to be nasty. Also , the comedians were on a "pay for play" contract, they would only get paid if they fulfilled their 15 minute slot, Bill Burr was livid that some of the comedians were not going to be paid because they cut their sets short and not all of them were famous and making big money at the time.

Philadelphia is a tough place to be if you are not from there. They are brutal to outsiders and even threw snowballs at Santa Claus at a Eagles (NFL) game. This show took place in Camden, New Jersey which is across the river from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Camden, NJ is a very poor, violent city where the majority of the residents are Black and Latino. Philadelphia, PA is a much larger city with very poor areas with Blacks and Latinos. The tourist areas are of Philly are fine, but the rough neighborhoods are horrible.
The people in Philly came to Camden for this show. And yes, the people from Philly have a reputation of not liking most people. Moreover, they are not afraid of expressing their opinion, no matter how horrible it may be. Because of this attitude, many believe that Philly is racist Bill Burr got pissed off and shit all over everything famous in Philly. Their professional sports teams to the bridges and everything else.
Bill is from Boston, MA, which is another city where the people are rough around the edges. The same can be said about New York City-- the city where I was born and raised. People from Philly, New York and Boston are not afraid to say what they are really thinking. We do not care about hurting other people's feelings when it is necessary. That is why Bill was perfect at insulting everyone and everything in Philadelphia.
