The "change the way the world works" thing from what I've understood means that when he said "quintuple" after the detroit smash that he's basically landing five hits at once which is crazy (you can actually hear five loud impact sounds after it which is cool too)
In the more literal translation, it also can warp the laws of physics with its speed and power
In the manga you can see the smash sound effects 5times during that attack
They hilariously enough picked the most ambiguous translation as in the manga before today, the translations were closer to either warp the laws governing reality, or warp the laws governing physics itself.
@@NRG-REC Tbh the anime translation is beyond raw. You often see stuff so powerful it warps the laws of reality, rarely do you hear about something so powerful it can ''change the way the world works''

Man Deku's VA was in OVERDRIVE (pun intended) this episode!! The way he said "Second's, Transmission." and "Gearshift, Overdrive!" gave me chills!

Honestly I COMPLETELY forgot Gear Shift was a thing so literally watching Deku go crazy fighting Shigiraki and using Gear Shift and everything nearly made me fall off my bed freaking out
The "changing how the world works" is the ability for gearshift to defy the laws of physics, not sure why they didn't just say that instead 😅

The “change the world” line was meant to be more along the lines of “warp reality” due to the fact that he can change his speed while ignoring inertia and can hit 5 smashes in a move that looks like one hit.
120% is the combination of OFA at 45% + Stored energy from Fajin (Faux 100% from Season 6) + enhanced speed from Gear Shift (turns 100% into 120%)
its really amazing how powerful he is just at 45% and other quirks...imagine 100% + the other quirks

I actually got a little emotional when Deku was able to control himself and his emotions. He’s come such a long way, he’s no longer the useless crybaby we all met in the beginning. This is the kind of story telling I like to see in anime!

10:15 To expand more on this, there are 2 translations in the manga, I dont know which one is the official, but one says that Gearshift and OFA combined can warp reality, and another says that the 2 combined can bend the laws of physics
Both sound somewhat synonymous, for the purposes of the quirk.

If I had to guess why the AFO was crying...was likely was due to the second user taking his brother. It's likely the brother is probably dead at that point when you see AFO attacking the second.
AFO killed his own brother and blamed it on Kudo

when midoriya used low gear he slowed himself down to dodge shigarakis punch, that's what they meant about gearshift being inertia independant because physics in real life wouldn't allow you to stop on a dime like that because of inertia which means objects in motion will stay in motion.
as for the 120%, that is happening because of gearshift overdrive which is a combination of fa jin and gearshift
Its kinda confusing, obviously he's going plus ultra with that 120% but uh, how are his arms okay?
@@Law10205The reason 100% and etc cooks him cause using one for all itself will cause alot of backfire, so hes not actually using 100% here, hes artificially replicating the force by stacking other quirks on top so its less of a burden on his body

Did you guys realize that Deku hit AFO so fast that the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and top gear punches shown to us viewers were actually in slow motion? This is because AFO only flew up after the top gear's punch.

The reason All for One was crying is because he was blaming the 2nd user for the death of his brother.
I think the 120% comment is referring to Deku using 45% and stacking Fajin and Gearshift on top of it, mathing it out at around 120%. They stopped specifying percentages though so this is mostly guesswork

Deku's Detroit Smash without injuring himself is 45%. Fa Jin makes it Faux 100%. Gearshift elevates it to 120%.

That 120% is what we've been waiting for. One for All is supposed to grow more powerful with each generation, so it would make sense that All Might's 100% isn't Deku's true 100%.

The fact that all for one(shigaraki) not able to use quirk and only using his physical strength makes him way too powerful
By "changing how the world works" it means that with Gearshift Deku can bend and change the very laws of physics that relate to speed, acceleration and momentum. It allows him to outright ignore a fundamental law of physics, which is Newton's 2nd law, the law of inertia. This opens him up to absolutely insane and outright broken opportunities and possibilities such as the possibility of infinite speed and acceleration.

This episode was amazing. Deku was channeling his inner Luffy 😂 No spoilers, but MHA author Horokoshi submitted a fan drawing of Smoker years ago that's featured in a fan art portion of one of the One Piece manga volumes. In fact Oda just recently recreated the drawing at the beginning of a recent manga chapter to show his appreciation for Horokoshi since the MHA manga just ended.
