Why are dogs so much better creatures than us?
they have their priorities in order, family , deep deep loyalty, food
and females. I think their adrenaline or primitive chemical stimulates,
dopamine rewards, positive behavior.We humans think we are just so on
top of everything. and push everything down to control and make sense of
the world.
For a healthy dog that is true. But you also have aggressive dogs that have some problem. There you will see the real wild predator taking over. Remember that.
Just because we can walk on two legs and make sentences with our mouths ...doesn't necessarily mean that we, as human beings are entitled to feel that we should hold the fate of every living thing around us. I guess there are a lot of people that feel that only mankind matters. But, if there is a heaven...there are definitely some animals withmuch better souls than humans.

There are bad dogs and good dogs, there are bad people and good people!
To say 😮that dogs are better than us you must remember that the ones that attack little children(people in general) are not better.
No dogs grow winterfur when its cold. He is gonna love to play in the snow in the winter and swim in the sea summertime.
He is never gonna meet an other streetdog again, they dont exist in Sweden. Arthur is going to eat meatballs for the rest of his life and sleep in his owners bed haha. Dogs in Sweden are true family.

This Arthur is a one lucky pooch. He trusted the group and stayed together the entire journey and finally won the hearts of every one who came to know this story. Thanks to Michael too, for his kindness and understanding of this little pooch's plight. If it would have being me, sure I too would have adopted the little fella.
All animals never cease to amaze me & yet I know without any doubt
they are purest souls. We humans can learn from them, IF we drop the ego
& open our heart & minds

Arthur is happily living with Mikael and his family now :) As somebody else posted- in Sweden a dog has to be quarantined (for 4 months) before he is allowed to be released into his/her new home. A wonderful, heartening story- why can't all NEWS be like this?!

My dog reminds me of Arthur so very much. The only difference is I wasn't in an adventure race but pretty much everything else is the same. This dog was wounded and infected but she just wanted to be near me. It followed me everywhere until I couldn't take it anymore and took her to the vet. She made a full recovery and I'm happy to say she now lives with me and my wife and sleeps beside us every night. She is so sweet and full of love. I can't imagine not having her. She has without a doubt changed my life. There's no love like a dogs love.

Just so everyone knows, the dog had to stay in quarantine for several months but was adopted by this man and his family.

+David Elrod Arthur is not in a shelter. The guy fought governments to be allowed to take the dog back to sweden. Swedish law says that all foreign animals have to to to a 6 month quarantine to prevent the spread of rabies. So he has to obey the law and he goes to visit Arthur in quarantine. When the quarantine period was up, Arthur went home with his family.

Very nice too many dogs are left to die in this world. I am from Montreal Canada and there are not so many stray dogs as stray cats I have rescued so many stray cats here.

So they did not adopt him if I understood correctly but placed him in a dog shelter. I guess it is way better than leaving him stray on the streets of Ecuador but still after all that took place one of the team members could adopt him :-(. This is a bit sad. Though it is a big responsibility. If they didn't feel up for the task then they did more than they should've by taking it to Sweden and placing it in the best dog care facility they found. Good for them.
No he did actually adopt him,they just put him in dog quarantine at first :)

+SolAlbus no he adopted the dog and fought governments to bring him home to sweden. The problem is that the scandinavian countries make you put your pet in 6 month quarantine to prevent the spread of rabies. UK used to do it and Australia still does it.

I figured he was younger. An older dog would have never made it. Even a mid aged dog would have had a much more difficult trek of it.
All considered, this dogs stamina was *amazing,* to say the least!

Most countries have a quarantine period to make sure the animal is not ill. Some countries are 90 days. The animals are well cared for and the team went to visit Arthur while awaiting his release.
Last year when actor Johnny Depp went to Australia with his wife, Amber, to film another of the pirate movies. They flew in with their 2 tiny dogs. They didn't know that animals have a quarantine. They govt. threatened to seize both dogs and put them to sleep.
Both dogs were up to date on their shots and the Depp's had all their papers from their veterinarian. Both dogs were also spayed/neutered. But apparently Australia has a strict quarantine period no matter how healthy the animal is.
Needless to say Amber took them back home while Johnny finished filming! Last I saw on Entertainment Tonight, the Australian govt. has a warrent out for Amber's arrest! If she ever goes back their, she can be arrested and go to jail!
They had flown into Australia on a private plane so they didn't go through the airport.
Tiny bit over the edge on the Australian govt. Australia will end up losing business in the end. The next time they film another pirates movie, Depp will see that it is made in a country where he can bring his wife AND his dogs!
maybe next time they will follow the law and put the dogs in quarantine so they don't have the risk of the dogs being put down

They did know that it was illegal for them to bring the dogs in. They signed a form. They also were very rude when questioned about the incident laughing it off. It might be all fun and games for them but in australia here, we take large precautions too save and protect our wildlife. Please don't put down other countries.

the team left arthur after the competition because arthur wasnt able to make them win first place. He died in the jungle and was found by another team with multiplt wounds. I know it is terrible… but so is believing whatever I said :(
