MMA is a korean award show and no, it wasn't a BTS concert lol. There were many, many korean artists that both attended and performed, but BTS is so damn popular in their home country, that they were the only ones that got 40 minutes to perform (almost all acts got around 20 minutes at best, most less), and they were also the last ones to perform. 80% of the audience were BTS fans (you can recognize us by the army bombs, bts' lightstick) and BTS also took home 7 awards that night, including the big 3: Artist of the year, song of the year, and album of the year
Thing is, even though I do follow and respect other Kpop groups, I've never felt annoyed at BTS getting so many awards. It's not just a case of the underdog, how they came from a small company had to work as backup dancers etc but I feel they genuinely deserve their success.

Before watching 2019 MMA about 6 months ago, I used to say “I can’t even imagine what BTS could do that would top 2018 MMA. Like...I literally can’t even imagine.” I said quite a few times, because it was amazing to me. I just didn’t think they could ever top 2018, but BTS delivered. So I recommend watching 2018!

Also, Apollo and Artemis (Tae and JM) were twins, thats why they both have the same earrings both in their left side during Dionysus.

I don’t know if they ever originally stated anywhere which gods/goddesses they represented, but in my personal opinion I feel like Athena would be a better interpretation for Jin. Especially if you go with the Trojan war reference, as the Trojan horse was built by the Greeks as an offering to Athena. Also “in literature Ares represents the violent and physical untamed aspect of war, which is in contrast to Athena who represents military strategy and generalship as the goddess of intelligence” (via google search). I personally feel like Athena vibes more with BTS, but that is my personal opinion.
This is how BTS thank their ARMYs. You know they absolutely spend money on this stage. Not to mention the time, level of detail put in. They always do the most for their fans.

BTS has a "bad" habit of turning award shows into their own mini-concerts, as you can see. Jungkook, the one that did the water dance, is the Golden Maknae, the youngest of the group. Maknae (pronounced mack-nay) means youngest. RM, the rapper that you like so much that had the staff at the end of the solo performances, he's the leader of the group. He's also the only one fluent in English, although the others have been studying here and there. Particularly Taehyung/V. He actually took and passed the first level of the English Fluency test recently.

Yesss! Were you there too? I went D2 just to listen outside and hadn’t heard about the drones during Mikrokosmos, I was so amazed and surprised. D3 I went to the concert but couldn’t see them very well from my seat because of the stadium roof/covering since I was on the 3rd level. I’m really glad I got to see it though, it was really beautiful.
BTS makes award shows their concerts! That's why us ARMY's had mix feelings when they performed at the Grammys! We were glad they got a chance to be on stage.....but they had to share it with lil Naz x. and even though BTS are global super stars, they were humble, excited and thankful to have the opportunity to be on the stage!!! Oh and idk if u know yet but they have won 1 Grammy but it was for the packaging of their album! SMH 🤦🏽♀️

Look at the size of this event. Look at the production level. They're a visual symphony. Look how our boys shine. Of course they've worked smaller venues and stages including James Corden, SNL, AMA and Billboard. And as you said, imagine having to follow one of their performances. I hope they get to perform for Grammys and get to win one.
The song with all the galaxy stuff (2nd song) is called Mikrokosmos and it's a song from BTS to ARMY....that's why all the "I love you's" in different languages. As hard as these guys work, they never fail to give credit to ARMY for their success. Jin rode in on his Trojan Horse like "Yea..I'm Worldwide Handsome..who were you expecting?" The whole production reminded me of a Cirque de Soleil show....only with better music. The Golden Maknae is Jungkook and he is the one that performed in the water. Maknae means youngest of the group.

I have never in all my life seen performers like BTS. They put everything into a performance. This was an award show, not a BTS concert but it might as well have been. They practiced for months for this while on their world tour, they are extremely hard working and deserve all 8 awards they got that evening. Those two shocked individuals when the cat balloon went up were idols from another group.
This was one of the most legendary performance in the history of Korea/world. They won 9 awards which was 4 deasang(grand awards which is equally to Grammy). I hope u can react Mma 2018 and MAMA 2019. Thank you for you're reaction 👌

I am not sure if anyone noticed why BTS performances are on another level, because their instrumental,remix they used are really well done. Its not simply simple instrumental, remix for performance. Its really well thought-out and could even be part of the album track. I remember one bighit in-house producer, docskim mentioned that he was nervous when he needed to show the instrumental remix he done for BTS award show performances to BTS. He said because BTS themselves are producers, songwriters too, their ears are way more particular about sound, beat chosen to be suit with performances to give off certain vibe. Suga even mentioned once that a tour performance director mistakenly put different sound that suga asked at first for his solo performance,seesaw. Suga asked for a sound of an old tape but the director put sound of closed door lol. Charlie puth even praised jungkook for being very detailed about their collab performance for we dont talk anymore at one korean award show. Like when you watching BTS performances, you can tell these guys are producers based on beat, instrumental they used. The only another group that give me very well produced instrumental, beat performances is g idle. Their leader, soyeon is their main producer for their music.

I noticed that this is something rarely talked about in fandom. About why BTS performances are such very fascinating to watch aside of course for them being very talented and have great stage presence.
They didn’t actually change very quickly, the Mikrokosmos part was pre-recorded which is how they managed to do all the galaxy effects:) Jungkook’s water dance was as well because of the logistics of the pool but he did the dance off to the side the same time the video was playing. The horses were also pre-recorded (I guess that whole intro part) so they weren’t scared by the audience.
Lord Drawkage the water is real, they just filmed that bit first so they could move it out of the way and then played the video when they got to that bit.
You must check all BTS live performance, start BTS HYYH concert, MMA 2017, MMA 2018, MAMA 2016, MAMA 2017, MAMA 2018, MAMA 2019, BTS speak your love Wembley concert, BTS Wing concert. They are all epic performance. 😊
It's how award shows are done outside of the USA. They are much bigger and when you're at the top you get more time on stage. They have huge stage sets as well. They make American award show look like Amateur productions. You'll notice the how many people are there watching it's huge. At a Korean award show, usually the most popular/widely known gets the longest performance. BTS were the seniors too at that award show so they were also the last performance of the night before the grand prizes were announced.

The song with all the galaxy stuff (2nd song) is called Mikrokosmos and it's a song from BTS to ARMY....that's why all the "I love you's" in different languages. As hard as these guys work, they never fail to give credit to ARMY for their success. Jin rode in on his Trojan Horse like "Yea..I'm Worldwide Handsome..who were you expecting?" The whole production reminded me of a Cirque de Soleil show....only with better music. The Golden Maknae is Jungkook and he is the one that performed in the water. Maknae means youngest of the group.
DAMN! that was an INSANE performance. The energy of this guys is amazing. Michael Jackson and BTS are in that kind of level, truly truly artists.

I have never in all my life seen performers like BTS. They put everything into a performance. This was an award show, not a BTS concert but it might as well have been. They practiced for months for this while on their world tour, they are extremely hard working and deserve all 8 awards they got that evening. Those two shocked individuals when the cat balloon went up were idols from another group.

I am not sure if anyone noticed why BTS performances are on another level, because their instrumental,remix they used are really well done. Its not simply simple instrumental, remix for performance. Its really well thought-out and could even be part of the album track. I remember one bighit in-house producer, docskim mentioned that he was nervous when he needed to show the instrumental remix he done for BTS award show performances to BTS. He said because BTS themselves are producers, songwriters too, their ears are way more particular about sound, beat chosen to be suit with performances to give off certain vibe. Suga even mentioned once that a tour performance director mistakenly put different sound that suga asked at first for his solo performance,seesaw. Suga asked for a sound of an old tape but the director put sound of closed door lol. Charlie puth even praised jungkook for being very detailed about their collab performance for we dont talk anymore at one korean award show.
Like when you watching BTS performances, you can tell these guys are producers based on beat, instrumental they used. The only another group that give me very well produced instrumental, beat performances is g idle. Their leader, soyeon is their main producer for their music.

They didn’t actually change very quickly, the Mikrokosmos part was pre-recorded which is how they managed to do all the galaxy effects:) Jungkook’s water dance was as well because of the logistics of the pool but he did the dance off to the side the same time the video was playing. The horses were also pre-recorded (I guess that whole intro part) so they weren’t scared by the audience.

It's how award shows are done outside of the USA. They are much bigger and when you're at the top you get more time on stage. They have huge stage sets as well. They make American award show look like Amateur productions. You'll notice the how many people are there watching it's huge. BTS fans will be the most of the audience which you call tell by their ' Arm Bombs' (light sticks with round globe on top).
We just witnessed the game change. And I have to be honest, no one is even close to being able to be in the ring with them at this point. Bar has been set and I don't see how any American pop artist now has what it takes to match them. Go ahead and name one...give me one American pop artist or group, alive, that can even come close? What you didn't see was BTS winning7 or 8 awards that night. I actually started following BTS because I stumbled on the 2016 MMA's FIRE performance. I was just like you. Shocked by their intensity and passion for the performance. I can't wait until you see BTS in person. It's actually unbelievable. The purple ocean of ARMY bombs lighting up a stadium. I've been to both Beyonce' & BTS and Beyoncé is great, she's the Queen but BTS burns the Freakin Place to the Ground. BTS concert is an EXPERIENCE!!!! A serious come to JESUS MOMENT!!!!!!!!!

At a Korean award show, usually the most popular/widely known gets the longest performance. BTS were the seniors too at that award show so they were also the last performance of the night before the grand prizes were announced.

He is the leader and english speaking translator of BTS. Although now many of them all have learned basic english, and its lovely to hear them converse with others.
