it’s quite obvious as well as their solo stage represents all of the gods . taehyung’s stage set up looked like sunrise , jin’s stage had horses and in the earlier days , horses were part of wars . jimin god of moon , jimin’s stage had a REALLY bright light , he was wearing white and it show cased the moon . yoongi , god of fire . the song fire played and the stage set up was fire . jungkook , god of water , he’s solo stage was him dancing with water so it’s quite straight forward . J-Hope , god of thunder , the lights were representing the thunder . namjoon was holding a thyrsus that dionysus holds ( if I’m not wrong ) . i might be wrong but these are my assumptions ! sorry for the typos !

I also think these kind of things are more obvious to western people who grew up witj greek mythology~ (Like in german we talked about greek gods in school one year and also TV-Shows with that background etc.)

Minguk Films since 2016 to 2018 i think bts always perform the best in MMA.
They said MAMA always held outside Korea (2019 - Japan) and MMA always happened first that why its more extravagant.

There will also probably be more idols actually attending and performing at MAMA so they wouldn’t be able to give them a whole ass 37 minute set again lol, everyone who performed at MMA had a decently long stage by award show standards, which was cool to watch. I’m sure BTS will probably still have the longest stage amongst all the performers at MAMA and a cool one, but it probably won’t top this MMA
i think MAMA 2018 was best performance of BTS. the visuals, outfits, the iconic Airplane pt.2, the lion of Idol! that was precise and perfect

David - I'm 74 years old and loved music all my life. I've probably seen or attended, more concerts than you can even imagine, starting with Peter, Paul, and Mary (look them up), to Elvis Presley, The Beach Boys, The Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson, One Direction, Justin Bieber, NSYNC and even blockbuster Broadway shows. This is the finest stage presentation, from beginning to end, that I have ever experienced! Every moment was perfectly and professionally done for the audience to have their breath taken away. I have no idea what they could ever possibly do to top this performance. Quite simply . . . AMAZING!

I know what you mean, but you can see the translation tracks on TH-cam which give you The Korean lyrics in Hangul and Roman script as well as translated into English. Wild. The Roman script takes SOME READING though, because there are too many letters! Worth it I think

I really love the way you described jimin’s solo stage. He rly danced as if he was the notes/music itself. His performance was so incredibly graceful and mesmerising. My 2nd favourite though is Jungkook’s, it’s also so amazing, the way he used the water to accentuate his own moves which were so sharp and powerful. It’s really beautiful

Jimin’s my fave dancer because his dance lines are beautiful. I’ve been dancing for more than 16 years and it’s very rare to come across someone who can create beautiful lines. His whole body is always working towards creating the image and it’s always so fluid or sharp when he wants to - but he makes sure the timing is right. The one way you can find out is if you pause any of their choreos - compare him to the other members in any given second. Most of the time he’ll look the most well put together.

@Handy Sandy Don't mind me. I'm just being salty here since the no Grammy noms issues. But as an experiment and catch up I did try to watch other music award shows after BTS MMA 2019 performance. I watched several live stage performance not just Grammys...Many of them are boring and low energy now. Several are great but none of them make me feel the passion or get emotional and excited like BTS stages.
Handy Sandy There's usually no concept or story to most Western performances. Usually an artist will go on stage and sing their song with some flashy practical effects and may or may not have other performing in the background. Western performances do way less work and spend way less money than Korean performances.

"Love is nothing stronger than a boy with love" well this is my interpretation of it:
Love alone can never be more powerful than the person feeling it, in this case a boy. The same way a bell is only a bell when someone rings it or a song is not a song until it's sung.. so love is not love nor is it powerful until you give it to someone. The power of love depends on the person giving it so I think BTS is saying their love for ARMY is much more powerful than love itself.

I was never thinking what that means. This makes sense. It's like money was never made to be evil, it's the greed, how people use money. So love is just a mere emotion, but becomes powerful when someone feels it, how much a 'boy' has love to give to someone.

YASSS my fav solos are Jimin and Jungkook as well, but all of then were magnificent!
Persona first part was pre recorded but Namjoon also do it live at the same time. Watch some videos of other fans. All of their solos are live except JK (but there's a fancam where JK dance in the dark). Mikrokosmos was pre recorded and the horses thing in Dionysus. The rest are f**king live.

From what i read on Twitter Jimin was portraying Artemis (Goddess of the Moon, hunt, wild animals), and you mentioning nature and animals just goes to show how well he is able to portray any given concept

Jimin has come SO FAR. he’s a true pure dancer in control of every microscopic movement. His dancing stops my mind and gives me the chills.
Wow, just wow! Thank you for your comments! I completely agree with your with assessment on Jimin’s dance. I’m past ballet & modern dancer and he is just the quintessential dancer. Exciting, graceful and flawless. I went to s Korea for almost a month last Fall and absolutely fell in love with the country & their attitude/respect for nature. That was a big impression on me as nature is #1 with me so thanks also for confirming my feeling about the culture.. BTS epitomizes (for me) modern performance artists and long surpassed the category of “boy band”. And the bonus is they are so positive, grounded, and creating a movement, not just entertainment 😻

Love your analysis. I really believe BTS went way beyond great to do an in your face the Grammy Awards for what bigoted idiots they are. Major players like EXO, Got 7, and Black Pink as well as a slew of important groups were not at the Melons so why use this one as a showcase. I believe that BTS without publicly saying F U to the Grammys decided to use their artistry to make the point. The Grammy voters think BTS are just a bunch a foreign boyband visuals with minimal substance. They treat them as visuals and as visuals they memorialize the tuxedos BTS wore presenting an award to others while minimizing the musical contribution of BTS, deeming it unworthy of the same stage as other non-Asian artists This after the 2019 BTS just had. Shame on the Grammys and hoorah for BTS.
Jimin's dance is just so calming to watch and what lifted up the performance is the I need you piano version.. I had goosebumps watching it.I wish Suga would have danced during his part.It felt like the ones who aren't in the dance line weren't given that chance to shine.. Ah idk.That's what I felt.

Imo, this line tells us how love is the best when it is embodied. Like, we all know the saying "love is the strongest power" and stuff like that, but it can also be misused, mislead, mistreated. But, a boy with love can embody that love and use it as he wishes, and in BTS' case, it's not to bring "world peace", they just want to make us smile and be happy. That's what their using they're love for. Hence, i rephrase "Love may be strong, but it is not as strong as it would unless a boy(or girl, in this case they're talking about themselves) uses it,especially to show others the beauty of their love."
This is also parallel in showing how they've grown, no longer are the people who blindly follow love and infatuation (Boy in Luv) but now they are using it for themselves and the people arpund them, making them equal if not stronger than love itself. Because love on its own is nothing stronger, than a boy with luv 💜💜💜
That's just my take on it 😂😅😅
