The guardians are supposed to act as a boss of their level in Nazarick floors, they are minmaxed to take down as many players as they can, unless you know every information about them which other players don't, you can't usually take down a guardian alone.
Ains had crafted his Overlord character so he could use massive amounts of spells beyond what normal magic casters could utilize, I think the LNs had him holding 700 spells. There were Dark Gods in the game Yggdrasil so there was some wiggle room on what was a holy item. Ains always uses information as a weapon including misdirection and carefully researched his opponents. Cheer up you have three more seasons of cliffhangers to go through and a few WTF moments along the way.
Shalltear has 10 levels as a Cleric. Normally you can't give job classes like cleric, holy, light etc to vampires and other undead, but her creator unlocked it when he defeated the dark god Cainabel who is the god of the faith Bloodline of Origin and was an event boss in the game. It allowed her creator to give holy or divine job classes to a True Vampire, which she has 10 racial levels in. Shalltear knows that she is meant to be a worshipper of the vampire god, but she doesn't worship the god or have any respect for it at all, as her creator called it a 'weak event boss'. Her creator also unlocked another rare racial class called The One, which is a rare vampire class above True Vampire, but sadly he didn't give it to her because it conflicted too much with her optimised build.
When he said if the "enemies" outnumber you, he meant specifically enemies that were part of an ambush with shalltear as bait. The reason why even 3 of the people who brainwashed shalltear are dangerous is because considering they have a world item they could be any level, ainz has no idea, so he's working on the assumption that they're at least as strong as Aura and Mare. 3 level 100s vs 2 level 100s is basically a guaranteed loss.
He also tells them that the world items they carry is more important than their life because they can be resurrected. The NPCs are definitely more important to him than an item, but he's a good enough strategist to know that in a video game with resurrection, sacrificing your life for an item doesn't really mean the same as in real life.
@@Djorgal at that time he wasn't 100% sure if resurrection worked the same way in the new world, I do think ainz values the NPCs lives over world items, but I imagine he said that because having world items fall into the enemy's hands could easily mean far more than 2 casualties.
for your infotmation ainz's build in ygdrassil term is like higher mid tier(he is an extreamly verstile mage but doesn't rly shine in anything. yes in his guild there were mages who were stronger then him) while shalltears in like a mid-high tier build that is very much focused on pvp combat. by all sources shalltear in terms of pvp is the strongest floor guardian of the guild(well there are some info on an npc who is stronger then her but lets not get into it cause its kind of a spoiler and we pretty much don't know anything about npc). ainz's specialty allways was strategy. he was the guild strategiest and thats why he got the leading role in the guild but in terms of raw power he is not that big of a deal
That's what makes the entire fight so much more interesting and displays just how high his actual skill level is. Ainz is literally at the disadvantage in every way, but still has Shalltear moving the way he wants.
Easy way to tell when Ainz is lying - whenever he talks out loud in his 'overlord voice' he is almost always lying. Nice of the writer to give us this easy tool, as Ainz has no lips to move and show us in the normal way. 😁
With that opening, the thing Ains is most worried about is having more of what happened to Shaltear happen to others, he was 100% sure that there wasn't a single way to have the brainwashing done on them - it was why he felt confident enough to let them out into the world and do scouting - so if Mare or Aura ran into 2 or more enemies they were to use the immediate retreat to Nazerik and inform everyone that Shaltear was a trap to lure in more. All he cares about here is protecting them as that's the important part to him.

It really sucks that a necromancer like ainz cant use his undead to fivht because shalter would use them to heal.
