To anyone watching this that may not know but might want to - This project is beyond a cool design. The insane amount of knowledge and craftsmanship required to pull something like this off is practically indescribable. realizing you can not create a video that appeals to everyone I have to say the woodworking skills are phenom.... the sound principle behind the bass tubes and reflex shows a truly deep understanding of sound propagation properties but for ME, the soundtrack while interesting is not a choice for shop videos, music in the shop is the sound of the machines and thus the creation of the work of art in wood and sound that you are showcasing. I can listen to non copyrighted music all day at my leisure. I made it 17 minutes into the video before I surrendered to the music. Great videography, great subject matter, amazing building skills and again an in-depth understanding of wave propagation theory, applause for that sir.
@@JimNichols I get you. Thank you for the kind words. People seem to be pretty split on the music lol. They either love it or despise it. I’ll be using more shop noises in upcoming videos but there are just about an endless amount of asmr TH-cam build videos so I’ll probably do a combo in the end. Absolutely unbelievable talent!! Can't believe how awesome that turned out. You should be very proud. Hopefully, it sounds as good as it looks (although that might be an impossible task). Subscriber for life.
1. Brilliant! One of the best videos of this category i have seen! The fit on parts is extraordinary. 2. Another tactic that made me wait for long videos but also kept engagement on channel was keeping it one piece and post shorts along the way. A bit like Dusty lamber Great job! Great job!
Thank you- it seems like for this the long video has preformed much better but doing parts and releasing reels along the way to build up hype is what I am going for in the future
@ I’ve been contemplating doing a similar project integrating some B&W CM1 speakers into a cabinet. How did you calculate the air volume and bass port configuration on this design if I may ask? Did you have any resources you used that helped?
Luke, it was an absolute pleasure to watch your concept come to life. I love your music choices as well. I originally thought you were installing a speaker system with a turn table in the center, it is what made me watch the video initially. I was pleasantly surprised by the end result, though I think a turntable along side of the top controls would be amazing. Would you be willing to list out the electronics and speakers you used and why you chose them? Maybe do a short video discussing this piece? Keep doing what you are doing, outstanding work! All the best, Paul
Thank you! I’m glad you stuck around. I have been using a turn table with it but it just sits on top. Yeah I can go into it more, but the drivers are Dayton audio Epique extended range subwoofers and the tweeters are the only ones that could match its sound profile. It’s pushing 500W through them and it’s definitely loud enough to piss off the neighbors. The knob system I engineered myself and got it to work- I actually have a provisional patent on it.
Really great stuff. Feeling so inspired to get out into the shop later today. Great music, great cadence to the video, really looking forward to checking out more of your stuff!
Usually I mostly don't like the music added to youtube videos, but in this case it just fits perfectly and is probably the best selection I have ever heard to a build video! Then the combination of all the different skills and clean work with attention to detail! Very well done! And then the bloody workshop... Haha thanks glad you liked it! That’s exactly what I was going for with it all flowing together. I wanted the user to be drawn into the controls and make something usually boring like adjusting volume to be something to get excited about. The knobs are magnetic so you can switch it out with others to give it a different look/feel- the lil cabinet is storage for the knobs when you switch them out. Hopefully I get to make much cooler stuff in the future!
What an incredible shop. Your build was technically inspiring but that shop and tools available to you was to die for. I didn't dare watch this in my basement woodshop for fear of shop tool jealousy. My 70's era Craftsman table saw might just develop a terrible vibration and walk out on me.
