I don't know. Apart from 2018, Germany hasn't really been doing well consistently since 2012. Scoring low and below the top 20 has become a normal thing to expect.
@@jlhabitan50 hmmm I'm not sure if the reason we score so low is because we are Germany, in my opinion its due to us sending the same act each year, from 2014 - 2017, female singers with shockingly bad songs (mid tempo ballads). Its time we send something upbeat
@@cirinolo Perhaps. If an upbeat pop song started the trend of poor results for Germany, maybe a song of the same genre could, but not for this year at least. Gonna see if Unser Song producers will look at what needs tweaking for next year's show (and maybe not buy a song from a competing nation that also had a song from the same songwriter).

I guarantee you 1000000% Wear Your Love would have gotten at least a single point from televoting, and would have done way way better, being the deserving follow up to Michael Schulte's 4th place. People would not be preferring Sisters if they were the ones that came 4th and were being shown in this video Wear Your Love may be getting lost amongst good entries (Highly Unlikely) but Sisters are the ones that got lost amongst the bad entries oof.

I was torn between Lily among clouds and Linus Bruhn. Linus was just the earworm I had since the first time I heard it and Lily was the very dramatic but also very interesting song. I totally agree with you guys saying that this song went in for hours. The first time I heard it, I just skipped through the song and I always got the same rhythm and same tone...it just sounded repetitive.

Taste differs but for me this is one of the strongest songs this season. I feel it WAS let down by the live vocal but that the song itself was strong enough that it would have done well regardless. Better than "Sister" anyway. This is Asanda all over again. Also a fantastic song with a mediocre vocal. And what is chosen in its place in both cases? A plain song that while well sung is ultimately ignored by most because it's really just... boring with no personality. I know vocals count for something but this IS a song competition and why anybody would ever send anything bland is beyond me. Regardless of how well it is sung. I liked the girls from "S!isters" but the actual song was not doing anything for me. And apparently not for may others either. Even juries tend to ignore well-sung entries if they are the musical equivalent of beige so why not go with a song that will at least have some people loving it? Ah, well. Dreams.

Nope, this is just feels repetitive and predictable lyrically! Lilly Among Clouds was the most original and interesting entry for me, hence my winner. But Lilly also suffers from underwhelming vocal performance. So I'm still glad S!sters went to ESC 2019. At least Sister has meaningful lyrics and was sung well.
