You can get letters of various sizes at a craft store like Hobby Lobby or Michael’s. I lay them out on boards and spray paint them. The outline shows up and I only have to take them off the boards. No peeling off paper. The letters can be used over and over.
@@Earthangel171 You can also get them from home depot. Mail box letters i believe are what they are called. Or just regular sign letters. Hobby Lobby walmart all sell them.
What I done instead was sanded the plank down, stuck my letters down. Spray stained the plank. After it was dry I removed the letters and put a coat of clear poly on it. It looked so nice. Thanks for the good idea!
I have an Antique booth up here and a guy did this in his booth.. He was selling ones like yours for $30.00 (and getting it every single weekend) and larger handmade signs for $50.00 and up (and getting it) I was there one weekend and he made over $500.00 just on his signs! With about the same money put into it, He has left now and I never got the chance to ask him how he did it..NOW I KNOW!!
We’re having a new backyard fence built. Was wondering what to do with 600 old 4 inch pickets. The local landfill told us it would cost $350 (!!!) to dispose of them there. Now I know what to do with them! Thanks!
I realize this was 9 months ago, but if you put them on Craigslist, they'll be snapped up by people like this who love making signs with reclaimed wood. I would take them!
They turned out way better then I thought they where going too. Great job! At the right venue 10.00-20.00 bucks each maybe? Since this is an older video did you sell any?
Thanks for the comment! I haven't tried to sell these samples, but here's a quick story. I took an old broom handle, Added 3 signs to it marked "vintage" "Antique" and "sale" all pointing the same direction to my garage sale. A woman offered me $15 so she can put it out in front of her antique store. Then I see her using it at a flea market she is selling at and while I am there, she sells it for $25! Not kidding!
I've tried that method of tearing apart pallets and even a multi-tool with a cutter that advertised as being able to cut through nails - but both blades dull after a few nails. Are you using a specific blade?
I think they are pretty cool, but here would be my take: add some frames made out out maybe 1 x 3 to give them more of a finished look, also maybe a coat of gloss polyurethane. I just like shiny stuff myself, and it would also help protect the wood. They are very cool, nice job.
I love to scrap and work with my hands but I live in the country where there is nothing it's all bad I'm thinking of moving to New York I just Sean a friend from here that lives there
If you can go to your closest town, there are usually free pallets behind most of the stores, especially hardware stores. I get a ton of free wood from behind harbor freight, tractor supply and a bunch of other places. If you only have a car, carry a sawzall with you and you can cut the pallets in the parking lot so they fit in your trunk but don't leave a mess! Go look behind the stores where the dumpsters are! Good luck!
The original anti-masker. These pallets are sometimes impregnated with all sorts of chemicals to stop rot and pests from destroying them You are breathing in that dust.
I’d give you 2 cents for the entire batch of crooked letters with paint scraped off with the knife, and rough edges. Two cents and I’d demand that you give me the gasoline and the matches to burn the garbage!

Hey Rich! That is a great idea! Plus you don't need a cricut machine! Thanks!
Pro tip!!!!!! Nice!
Can you show us what letters you used that can be reused
Thank You so very much I'm working on a project and your suggestion will make it so much better and easier Thank YOU again always good to have options

You are just killin' it over there!
Where in the Midwest do u live. Great video. I was looking all over to see if I could use a cricket for this
Very Cool Idea
I have done this too. And the lines would be crisper if letters are peeled before it dries
Thank you
Love it ❤❤❤❤
I would use Western letters. I so love this project thank you! ❤
Love this idea, and I have a cricut. WooooHoooo Love your channel. Why don’t you do this anymore?

Awesome!! Yeah there is so much scrap wood out there...Easy money and Pinterest is full of free ideas!
Did you put a finish or seal on them? The blue especially looks shiny which looks great.
When you spray do light coats and build it up layers
How dod you attach string/rope?
Anyone else obsessing over the c is still crooked? Just me? Alright then
Nope. Me too! lol
most of the letters arent straight.... i guess they call that rustic
*twitching uncontrollably*
First thing I noticed when he put the letters on the board
The crooked letters and inconsistent paint coverage are bugging me. I wouldn’t be able to sell those.
You didn't explain what you used to do the lettering
Brilliant Idea! I also posted some small pallet projects that can be sold on Etsy or something like that.
Awesome job...can you explain how you use the contact paper in cricut
What kind of paper do i use in a regular printer to be able to peal off letters?
Enjoyed that :) subbed and looking forward to watching more of your videos...
Great idea

great tutorial...
What color blue and pink did you use? I love them. Beautiful!
Blue, pink and white.
what kind of saw blade did you use on the pallet?
Just a metal blade. You can technically use a wood blade, or a hack saw, whatever works. You're just cutting through nails.
Personally I use bi-metal blades last a lil longer and coust about the same
Sawzall with metal cutting blade
I really love this idea. Wheres Bobbin. Is he doing ok?

I like the way you cut the pallets off. What is that saw called? Thanks
That is a sawzall or its proper name is reciprocating saw. Thanks for watching!!
ShaneManTV thank you!

@@heavymetaldave metal cutting blade.

Like! like!
Thanks Tom!! I appreciate you!!
Tom Arnold? 🤣🤷🏻♂️
Nice joke mine never thinks I am a genius either
Why didn’t you take the nails out
Turn music down
Why use crappy contact paper when you can buy paint mask cheap and you have to use transfer tape to keep spacing and straightness of the letters
I think you are a genius.. forget what your wife says..
The original anti-masker. These pallets are sometimes impregnated with all sorts of chemicals to stop rot and pests from destroying them You are breathing in that dust.

Good Afternoon very very nice very very good for your working and for your video
I’m OTH SAL RIYADH SAUDI ARABIA 30-1-2018 god be
Um thats cool and all to make for yourself but I would most likely have to pay someone to take that kinda stuf. much less sell it.
Do it yourself lesson as a hobby.use old newspapers.
Only thing yhat bothers me is your letters are Crooked and as a customer would be a deal breaker, guess I'm OCD
Having the loud music ruins the video
Honestly. Do Americans actually buy this shit? I’d be too embarrassed to sell that crap.
Where do you live that a custom, hand-painted sign is "embarrassing"????
Looks cheap
I’d give you 2 cents for the entire batch of crooked letters with paint scraped off with the knife, and rough edges. Two cents and I’d demand that you give me the gasoline and the matches to burn the garbage!
33 cents
