It couldn’t be sold as new, so it sat until Christmas. My guardian was notified of the deal, and purchased it refurbished (it couldn’t be sold brand new because of open box). It was actually a far better deal, since it was an upgraded MBP with 16GB unified memory and 512GB SSD for $1199. I’m using it rn to write this. **(TLDR/All in All):** Only buy refurbished if you know the absolute condition of the device in which you are buying. If not, find someone that does.

I purchased a refurbished iPhone 5s way back in the same year when iPhone 6 is about to be released. The iPhone 5s was in good condition, however, I encountered a problem with it when it does not detect network signal at all. I had to return it for replacement and it took a while but it’s worth it. I still use it to this day but not as my daily driver.
I use backmarket, its trust worthy in my opinion. When I buy from them i use the lowest condition there is and it looks fabulous and battery is usually good. Im my OP try it out, and if it doesn't go wrong then try to refurbish it :P

Just a warning. When I bought a refurbished iPhone from Amazon the face ID wouldn’t work. It turns out that when some Apple products, like iPhones, get their screens replaced it removes an essential sensor unique to that iPhone which disables the use of face ID.

The thing about Apple refurbished is they do stuff that’s not even technically necessary. They replace batteries even if they were decent already, they’ll replace anything with a few too many scratches. I bought an Intel MacBook Air a few years ago and it was in brand new condition

I don’t think anybody in their right mind would consider this a discount considering for one it’s not new and two it’s not the latest one. It’s an older version. That’s the reason why it’s cheaper. Apple refurb does that as well. I got the M2 MacBook Air discounted, most up to date of the air’s. Only had two charge cycles of use. Essentially brand spanking new.
