- Ian Poulter made his success as a professional golfer, opening up the possibility to follow his passion for cars and in particular for Ferrari. With huge thanks to Ian, join us now for a very special opportunity to take a guided tour around his Car Museum to enjoy some of these incredible cars.
In the way I dream of one day displaying my car collection, Ian has built up a venue to showcase the cars along with matching memorabilia. While maintaining some mystique around the entire collection together, let's head around to explore the likes of the Ferrari LaFerrari and LaFerrari Aperta, Enzo, 288 GTO, Ford GT and some of his unique specifications for the F12tdf and Speciale A via Ferrari Tailor Made.
I would like to extend a huge thanks to Ian for his hospitality and invitation to share a collection that is normally totally private. It's certainly very much appreciated and enjoyed from my side, and I hope also for those viewing. You can follow him at / ianjamespoulter

I've owned 3 exotics so far. I'm proud that I averaged 1,500 miles a month in each one. Life is short, put the smiles to the miles! I can't imagine letting them just sit there. SMH

Everybody is entitled to do whatever they want with their own property, you choose to drive your cars he chooses to collect them, both are fine idk why you have to bash on the dude for not driving them, he can do whatever he pleases.

it is the best looking, most racey design feel, car they made...I love the hard edges and angles, very different from typical ferrari feel of flowy lines the new ones have and the classics
Seems like he enjoys owning cars more than driving them. We all enjoy our toys in different ways I guess.
When you have 20 cars I guess the thrill you and I would get from from driving them is significantly reduced for them
Yeah....Jay Leno bought his McLaren F1 for $800,000 and people told him he was crazy. Now it's worth $15-$20 MILLION. Some of these cars can be a terrific investment. There's nothing wrong with that!

I've always liked Ian. I love his passion during the Ryder Cups and always cheer him on in the majors. However, this is next level. He's now the GOAT. Absolutely phenomenal spec on the 458 and the gator touch on the Laf is amazing.

Not winning a major doesn’t mean he didn’t win anything of note LOL. There are 4 majors every year, many more important tournaments that are not majors, and he’s won many of those. So no he is not “mediocre” at the sport, he has been for 20 years one of the best players in the sport, many greats haven’t won any majors in their careers.
He will make more just in the rising values of these cars than most people make in their life. He’s picked such iconic cars that he won’t lose a penny on any of them. Takes money to make money.
He has won 15 golf tournaments and has multiple sponsors. Prize money and sponsorship money from that would be worth millions.

It's an incredible collection and so fantastic that Ian has turned his golfing success into one of his other passions with cars and in particular Ferrari. I can't thank him enough for the opportunity to visit and be able to share these cars with you all.

Awesome collection. Haters have to hate, when you get a collection you can drive all of them every day. If your collection is only one car then you drive it every day. You'll find if you're fortunate enough to achieve it that if you have a dozen cars and don't commute an hour to work and spend your life traveling the world that there are only so many miles to drive and so much time do so. The fact he can pick any car and drive it at any time and admire the cars as art from his office is the dream he had and he's living it. Stop being jealous of others good fortune. We are only here once, so if I was him I would drive them all with all of his money the value of them is immaterial.

You don't know that till you get to that level. All those people that say they will drive the hell out of it can probably never begin to understand the sacrifice and commitment of how hard you had to work to get to a stage where you can buy these things. And unless they miraculously won the lottery, they would probably think differently about these things if they worked all their life to get there.

Hard to get your golf clubs, your case in those things, golf tournaments lay out drivers and courtesy cars so it is not hard to understand why so few miles

How does anyone not put 150 miles on it the first week they own it? What a dissapointment. And Schmee as well, no love for the 275? C'mon, the 275 is perfection, glad to see this golfer has some taste, because nothing else in this collection says otherwise. That 458....YIKES!

Imagine a thousand years ago being walked around some rich guys stables in the Middle East interviewing him about his massive Camel collection. Different times. Same mentality.
I see a lot of peeps complaining about how he doesn’t drive his cars enough. Some people like to drive them, and some like to look at them (they sure ARE beautiful). It sounds like this guy uses these cars as his reward to motivate him to be successful. You don’t have to drive a car to love a car. Personally, I love driving my Porsche more than looking at it (although I do think it is beautiful), but don’t get on a guy’s case because he doesn’t drive his multiple Ferrari’s enough. If you want to make sure a Ferrari is driven, buy one yourself; don’t tell other people what to do with their own stuff.

It's the 288 GTO for me. That car is a boyhood dream, and after 30 odd years it still looks fresh.

@@Kronos0999 If he can't afford to drive them, that would mean he's barely making enough to buy them and can't even drive them a little, he shouldn't have bought them to begin with. Most likely his appreciation for cars stops at them being rare and cool looking, so he just holds on to them with little passion for driving.
I don't think people understand how busy of a schedule professional golfers have. Your traveling almost every week and if your not, then your practicing all day and in the gym. I'm sure he loved to drive them more if he had the time.

As a former employee of Ian's, I can tell you that these cars are an investment, hence why he isn't trying to load the miles on them. He also a nice guy in person and always has time for people.

Poulter for sure enjoys the idea of owning the cars more than driving. When he does drive them, it is a treat to see them at the local meets here in Florida when he does attend, and he’s a cool person to talk to at the events.

@@Shmee150 I did catch that, but he admittedly has barely driven any of the others. At the end of the day, they're his cars that he worked hard for and he can do what he wants with them, but I personally don't agree with storing them away and never actually using them for their intended purpose.

@@JakTbh He's a collector. You dont spend your coin collection, stamp collection. You look at them and show them off and occasionally ship them to events. He has a bunch of dailys outside like the G63 I think I saw

I'm not even a car nut, but these are beautiful. My favourite ? The white one and the satin blue one. Awesome personalization choices. I'd have those two and my daily Lexus (if I had the money !). Back to my 2002 Honda Accord :) (which I've owned for 10 years).

I love to witness any chap with a burning passion, and ian is obviously a very nice chap and easy to listen to. Obviously he and his possessions have resulted in some snide jealous remarks from people who will never fully understand. Let to try to briefly explain:
Some extreme top end utility goods (and cars are a prime example) can be so well produced that they transend their primary purpose and instead migrate into becoming works of art. For the connoisseur simply looking at them and caring from them can result in such great pleasure that such in itself is sufficient to justify their acquisition. Not that justification is needed.
The paradigm of capitalism is that to achieve Ian's level of success one not only has to be extremely talented, but also entertain millions. It's easy to cry 'life is SO unfair!' Maybe it is, but don't try to take it out on someone who simply runs with the system and does no-one any harm.

@@_chenn yes, art is to be looked at, to enjoy. Cars are made to run, there´s the fun. Not standing in a room being cleaned everyday unless they are in a condition that is not "easy" to use them properly.
Pictures are to see, music is to hear and cars are to drive.
Investments. These cars will only appreciate in value. He still drives them just not that much. If you're a car lover and money savvy why not make money out of your hobby too? He enjoys owning them but won't go bankrupt devaluing his assets.

I love the rarity and exclusivity of his collection. His collection is great due to how exclusive these cars are and it makes sense why he doesn't drive them much

Amazing collection, and to be fair he is traveling 40 weeks/year, and to be even more fair the values of low/no mileage rare Ferrari’s are a great investment, but to have so many cars with virtually no miles being added, I don’t really know what to think ... they’re just pieces of art really.
