There's a Legend they claim, in the deep woods of Maine. The best tracker in the snow, and the mud. He looks for sign posts, that are bigger than most. He's a Legend, and his name is.."HAL BLOOD" . With a sandwich 🥪 in pack,, he cuts a Buck Track. That may lead him,, miles back in the sticks. But the tracking goes on,,from dusk intil dawn. With his Pump,,carbine,, 30:06. So Hal, take good care, of old' Remi". 👍 ( Remington ) She's been with you,, through the blood / sweat and tears. And to you, best of luck,,may you keep Tracking Bucks. For another strong 50 plus,, Years. 😉. ( We "TRULY" enjoy yr content and yr Super Personality,, yr a Great Role Model for young hunters) 👍
Good info and good video Hal, one of these days I'll have to make it from Michigan to the school you put on, these videos keep the fire burning after season, makes me wish it was still .
I found a spot this year down here in mass that i can call sign post city too ,if it doesn’t have 30-40 big rubs on ash trees from 5-12 inches I’ll eat my boots. I can’t wait to hunt it this year!
For anyone looking to track Maine bucks, really the central Maine highlands are the place to be. From Katahdin Iron works/JoMary down to Rangely and up to the Jackman area. I'm in northern Aroostook at the top of the state and walked at least 70-100 miles this season in all of my usual haunts where I've taken bucks in the past and saw 2 rubs and not a single scrape. The historic wintering areas have been harvested and the deer simply don't survive in 4-5 ft. of snowpack.
