This is incredible. As someone who likes to build their own strategies, having some success and some flops, this is a wonderful way to break down how to keep it simple by starting with a single idea and working it backwards with reverse engineering why it worked, without too much curve fitting.
Trading is hard. You've gotta have a good strategy. And it has to fit you personally. Thank you Arjo for helping everyone with this video to make a strategy that works for them. 😊
I literaly just started backtesting like that couple of weeks ago, take a spreadsheet, gather as many confluences as possible and as big of a sample size as possible. At the end you got a spreadsheet full of data that will help you build the highest profitable trading plan
It's as "simple" as that, and what helps is then already knowing what to look for through experience. A trading plan all comes down to the right amount of probabilities and math

I am from India I am seriously watching all videos one by one and back tested in stocks it works fine my market is only 6hours but still it works I am now testing my understanding in equitys with small quantity my goal is to make 100 trades and check the success rate thanks for transferring your knowledge. You know....ever since i started learning ict i always ignored the idea of looking at volume because the fair value gaps were supposed to give that information. But I was never really successful until I added volume to the mix. The fair value gaps that hold are the ones that hold because they were actually created by whales and not because they slowly bled up or bled down. I think it's important that you consider doing the taboo thing and adding volume to your mix. Volumized fair value gaps is the indicator I use on tradeview and I have now automated my trading with it and become very profitable. It's not difficult but if you're trying to impress by not using any indicators I think you're selling yourself short.

I have tested volume when I just started using FVGs and it never added anything relevant for me. But I can see how it would work in different markets, thank you for the insight!
@@Arjoioyou're open-mindedness is admirable. Volume in itself doesn't seem to help me that much. The reason why the volumized fair value gap indicator works well is because it uses volume relativity. I have found that if the indicator shows a fair value gap has large volume and you place your stop loss below the recent intermediate term swing It works out pretty well. Give it a try even though it feels wrong lol

Thank you for the valuable video, Arjo. Could you follow up with another video detailing how those trades looked in practice? Specifically, I'd like to see how you fine-tune your entries by looking for Fair Value Gaps (FVG) on lower timeframes. For example, starting with a higher timeframe FVG, then moving to a 15-minute FVG within that, followed by a 5-minute FVG, and finally making the entry on a 1-minute FVG. The same approach would apply to exits. This detailed information would make the trading plan more practical and complete for us followers. Thank you for considering this; it would be incredibly helpful.

Honestly I think that the secret sauce is in time based fair value gaps as Zuessy explains it. Time first then price. The 90 minute cycles plus fvgs. When price is at the right place at the right time when the algorithm kicks in. For me that's the secret. Time first then price.

This is great. I do have a question though. When collecting the and only trading trades int he context area, did you include H1 trade the were going in the opposite direction?
E,g you tap into the daily FGV and are going down. Would you take a bullish H1 FVG, as technically is in the context area.
Also you say 12 FVG's hold, but you only have 11 FVG that hit 2R so does than mean 1 FVG held but didn't reach 2R?
I've watched a few of your videos. I'm reluctant to change my current ways too much, but FVGs make a lot of sense to me. They've given me what I was missing about liquidity.

So just to clarify your daily context, you don't consider entering a trade on the 1 hr until price has come into the daily fvg? That's how it seems you have picked your trade in that backtest. Also at what point would you stop looking for setups on the 1hr time frame if price is pushing through the daily FVG, like if you have your daily FVG drawn and you are looking to take shorts inside of it on the 1 hr and price is pushing up passed the top of the FVG box you're not going to know if its potentially wicking into that FVG or changing direction completely until your next daily candle prints, meanwhile you've been trying to short it the whole time
That’s what I’m thinking too, this makes no sense. He says to trade in the context but his reasons (signs) for picking the context zone only come at the end of the context. But when he goes into the lower timeframe he shows trades and fvg’s that appear before he could’ve seen those signs if it was in real time.
