Waldorf M - New Oscillator modes

- The Waldorf M synthesizer got four new oscillator modes in the free 1.10 update. waldorfmusic.com/m-en/

You don't have to edit all those wave envelope levels and times if you just want a simple envelope. Check 4.3 in the original Microwave manual. For example, you can create an ADSR envelope with just the first three level/times.

thanx for showing those new osc models in such great detail and with practical musical patches! great demo! I had the M for two weeks demoing it, but sent it back, since I felt no real improvement over my MW1RevA with Access controller and my XTk30. But these new features sound awesome! I also own the comparable Mutable Braids - but to have those sounds available on a polysynth with dedicated VCFs per voice seems a great sonic addition!
Finally an overview. Great thank you. I think the M needed this. The VA mode transforms the synth. Can now do supersaws and all the other VA stuff in that hybrid setup with that nice filter.
The updates w/ this synthesizer are nice and explored.

Thank you, sounds great. Would you generally recommend the M, especially compared to Iridium Core (same price range)? I‘m about to buy my first more expensive synth, as well as my first wavetable synth in order to make my own ambient productions. :)
Great tutorial, I always love your tutorials because they often help me get a better understanding of synthesis as well as the instrument. I'm having difficulty understanding the wave envelopes. The manual says that it has 8 adjustable times and levels, but I don't understand what that means eg. do the times correspond to attack, decay release?...and how does each time/level affect the others?

Thank you! I use Fabfilter for mixing and mastering (EQ, Compressor, Limiter) and Valhalla DSP for creative effects (Delay, Reverb). Recently I added Eventide Blackhole Immersive to my collection, but time will tell, if I will use it on a regular basis.

My most used softsynths are Pigments, all U-He synths and Omnisphere. And everything from Luftrum, but please take this information with care, as I work for Luftrum.

Im so into Dub these days, thats my first thought :)

I've never owned a synthesizer that expensive, but is it true that the knobs on Waldorf synths fail? Some of your encoders look quite wobbly, I'd be fuming if I paid that much for a synth that has wobbly knobs lol
I've had a Waldorf Iridium for 3 years and it is still as solid as the day it arrived. Of course, that's just one anecdotal report. YMMV. Take care.
