the reason it sounds so much like Dragonforce is because It is Dragonforce!! Herman Li and Sam Totman helped write the Guitar parts, even played it live with them a couple diferent times!
I'm pretty sure they only performed it with BABYMETAL once. That was at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods award show in 2015. DragonForce performed 'Gimme Chocolate!' at Download Festival in 2015 with the three BABYMETAL members.
Great reaction, this song is an anthem for them. About the song itself. 'Road of Resistance' is a very positive song, it isn't the usual "resist the machine or the system etc" that we might expect from the title. It is about forging your own road even where a road doesn't already exist, not necessarily going the easy way or following the path already made by somebody else, so if the way you want to go has never been trodden you may have to get past the resistance of the undergrowth, obstacles, hurdles and things blocking your way etc to find your own way. It could easily be used to describe BABYMETAL's own story - they could have followed the well trodden path of J-Pop and been very successful, but they chose to go with Metal ... but again they didn't just follow the same old format of every other metal band, they have done it their own way and it hasn't always been an easy route to follow. As you know now Herman Li and Sam Totman from DragonForce did the guitar arrangements for this song (it is the only one they were involved in) and recorded the guitars for the album version. They did play it live together once at an awards show in London in 2015. Herman Li said they wrote the guitar parts to be faster and more technical than most of their own songs thinking they would never have to play it live - and they had to practice hard when they were told about the awards show. The PIA Arena concerts were amazing, but all their concerts are - even in the smaller venues they play as they tour the world. They may not have all the moving stages, lasers and pyro etc but they never give less than 100% effort , energy and quality. They appreciate people have paid often a lot of money and travelled a long way to see them and they always do their very best to make sure everybody gets good value for their money and efforts. There are no bad choices, every BABYMETAL song is top quality, so pick whatever titles appeal to you or follow whatever suggestions you get, you can't go wrong.
It better sound like Dragonforce... since Li and Totman were involved doing the guitar arrangements for this one. They also play on the studio version. 🤭 The two Pia Arena MM concerts, actually called BABYMETAL Begins - The Other ONE Black Night / Clear Night and also the two Legend-MM shows (20 & 21 Night) from 2024 are four of their best. But you will be surprised when you see they were already this good like 11 years ago... so here: "Akatsuki" (Live at Budokan Black Night): th-cam.com/video/g2372C5PJLM/w-d-xo.html Happy New Year! 🤘🦊

Here is a link to that show too: th-cam.com/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/w-d-xo.html. They always kill it! Consider the double reaction!

Great reaction and obviously Babymetal is not a new band but that they are new for you. Well so glad you've discovered them. Your life will be a better place from now on. Ok, not sure if I'm the first to mention this (probably not) but the reason this has such Dragonforce sound is. Herman Li and Sam Totman arranged the guitar parts and then played those on the original album release. Everybody who knows metal and hears this hears the Dragonforce. I almost wish there was a disclaimer at the beginning stating the Li, Totman involvement. A couple of times I've seen reactors kinda go through the video thinking Babymetal was plagiarising Dragonforce not knowing the legit reason for the sound. But not you so kudos for that. At some point you owe it yourself to view the "Road of Resistance" live in Japan from 2015 performance. I and many others (i've seen their comments) consider this performance one of if not the best live performance they've ever seen. Count me in that category. Based on what you've reacted to and what you've enjoyed I feel really confident that you will love the performance I'm going to recommend. It is my current favorite live performance by Babymetal. 👍 👍
Well done.
Dragonforce have supported BABYMETAL from the beginning and as you have already read from previous comments Herman Li and Sam Totman wrote the instrumentals for this song.
Guitar, not instrumentals.
I would suggest Syncopation from Legend MM 2024 next.
Hi Hymnodic. Don't recollect if I've mentioned this to you but thanks. Thanks for all the wonderful great Babymetal videos you've posted. What with the demise of For the Fox God, I think you may have just moved into a more prominent position in the Babymetal reacting world. And please take that as the complement I mean it to be. You've really done a heck of a job.
thank you jeff...🦊🦊🦊

Nice reaction!
Great reaction. You should react to Tales Of The Destinies, Syncopation, From Dusk Till Dawn, Brand New Day, Starlight - Shine (Legend M) - Arkadia (Trilogy Of Lights)
You can find the videos in the links below
For LIVE I suggest using the videos on the Babymetal Reactor Resource th-cam.com/video/q40VmTHSh4c/w-d-xo.html
There's more information in the description of that video
There's also this channel with great-quality videos www.youtube.com/@Hymnodic/videos
You are fun guy so I brought a good one. I mean I'm in rabbit holes, Legendary Rabbit Sayumi too in there, so I worked. Babymetal deeply related to #MorningMusume.

Correctly, Dragonforce's Sam Totman and Herman Lee participated in the recording.
