Mr Frank, you are truly Making Backhoes Great Again! its a true art to fine grading with the front as well as the back, there are so many machines made for so many different tasks today that we tend to forget what can be done with less..........

Thanks! You bet, it’s all in the mind mostly, but most machines are capable of more than we think! Happy Easter and hope you all are doing well.

It's been a good long time since I fooled with any laser guided elevating devices, but that's jus plain handy as hell having the slope feature! Oh so many times I would've gave a lot of money for slope feature and have the receiver on the mini bucket........well whatever machine I was in at the time, that 350 deere trackhoe I ran right before I got put of excavation had a 6ft smooth bucket and a 3ft trenching bucket...........you could flat move some dirt with that 6 footer! But it wouldn't have been all that efficient to have the laser and reviever on that machine given there was a dozer on site too pushing subgrades as well as I was backfilling utilities and a 160 deere diggin footings. But with one or two machines, that would be the way to go for sure so you wouldn't over dig or under fill then have to go back and redo. Cool idear Frank, thanks for sharin it pard

Holy Cow Frank! Just got internet service back earlier this morning, after being without since this past Friday. It was a hell I can't begin to describe. How did I get this far (56yrs) in life without it. Your video is the second one I have viewed since.

Frank has the Backhoe tilt feature.... eat your hearts out all you excavator dudes!!! LOL
I hate spreading Bermuda sod soil. It’s like trying to scrape cold grease off with a stick.. every time you move it you get another clod.
Good thinking with the grading edge adaptation... might have to rig one of them up on mine. Would save time from removing the teeth... and much less wear and tear.

I have a Spectra system and I need to buy the remote so I can shoot grades like that. Mine doesn't have the button on the transmitter to enable you to set the grade like yours does. I welded a piece of cutting edge to a couple of worn out bucket teeth I use on my footing buckets to leave a smooth bottom. Works good and if I run into rock or big tree roots I just knock the pins out and put the regular teeth back on until I get through the problem area. Thanks for the video, nice job.

The topcon has been good to me, the magnet receiver is very handy as well. I just cut the teeth off of an old 36” bucket, I think I have a new favorite for grading and ditch work. Thanks for watching

I have a 36” that I just cut the teeth off, it’s my new grading bucket. I’m not a fan of most couplers, added weight and loss of breakout force, it only takes a couple of minutes to change a bucket. Thanks for watching

I have a couple of those cutting edges set up on old teeth like that, it's a pretty slick set up. I've been looking at the machine receivers too, really hoping to get a hold of one of those. Great video Frank.

I use cutting edge all the time on backhoe at work I wish I could add pics on here we use the old edges when we change road grader blades they’ll slide over a water line to instead of ripping it but we weld our teeth to the back of the edge if that makes since the teeth are behind the edge so your always pulling against teeth in stead of your welds

Hi Frank, I just found your channel through a comment on another excavation channel. I am loving your videos, and I really appreciate the time you take to explain how you do things, the pros and cons of different machines, and of course, I love wasting a master of his craft. I subscribed and can't wait to see more!
I started a business a little over a year ago with a cheap old skid steer and have been considering my next machine. I was really on the fence between a mini ex and a backhoe, and you tipped the scales in favor of a backhoe.
Thanks again, and keep up the great work!
