I just bought this Guitar at Guitar Center 2 weeks ago. Ive wanted to learn to play for years. Honestly I now feel really good about picking this one. Being a total beginner I had no idea what was the best Guitar to learn on. I have to credit the look and feel or this and some of the other musicians that were hanging out in the store that day for really helping me out with what to buy what to expect and really giving me that last boost to leave with a instrument. I was really down to this one and a Yamaha model. The feel of the Fender even in my hands just seemed good. When they played it and showed me a few things on this one then I played a few chords in the store I was sold. At about $200 this Guitar looks much more expensive. I think the all Mahogany looks very classy.
@PetesGuitarUniverse for now I've been working on learning some basic chords that I'm learning from the Fender app. I'm just working on getting my fingers used to playing and playing those chords clearly. I sort of looked up some tabs and tried to play Wish you were here by Pink Floyd. I really wasn't good at it but it was a good exercise in learning to change chords slowly trying to pick over the song. I got my hands on a lesson book from the band instructor at the school I do IT work for so I'm going to have a look into that too. I know learning scales and reading sheat music is good but doesn't really feel fun at the moment.
Good to see a review using slightly dischordant open chords. Seems that lot of cheaper guitars I've tried seem to struggle with these overtones and harmonics you get with open tuning, so its interesting to hear this one managing pretty well.
