The playing reminds me a bit of the final track on the "English Melodeons Player" album, a version of Sting's "Children's Crusade" as rendered by Roger Watson
There are some very interesting and excellent techniques there. You've got the concept and execution of "contrapuntal" playing, versus the "one button dab" down to a very fine art. I wish I'd seen your explanation and demonstration years ago, but alas! I've stopped playing after 6 decades as rigid fingers don't do much for it.
Thank you very, very much Frank! For someone ‘who is not a man of words’, you did very well 😊 I shall listen to this over and over again, not because I want to copy you but to add to what I already do. THANK YOU !
Many thanks, and thanks for asking me to do it - I wouldn’t have bothered otherwise, but it’s been generally better received than I’d have thought! But as another friend said, once you snuff it, so does your work - unless you record it! So that’s what I’m doing on my channel, I may not be playing much longer.
@ Ha ha…I think you have a way to go yet! In fact, I hope we both have 🤣 This video of yours will be watched by many for years to come. It really is very helpful and inspiring!
Thanks Mel. I sat and thought, and re-thought how I’d do this but realised it’d never get done if I didn’t just start. So it’s a tad ragged but it seems to work, sort of!
Nice one ,I’ve reached the conclusion, after listening to you for some time, you are quite unique! I’ve been irritating myself playing melodeon for a considerable amount of time and listened to hundreds of of players …no one gets close to your technique, thanks for the entertainment and encouragement regards Paul
This is great. Thank you! I’m with you on the thirds (and on sugar in tea), but I’ve left them in on my Lilly so far!
Fabulous!

A wondrous video. I love your playing style, and in particular your selection of songs. You have totally enriched my playing. Thanks!
Many thanks for the feedback.
Cheers Frank - I learned stuff! 🙂

Thank you. It seems to have been worth doing.

Lovely to see you doing this Frank! 🎉

Haha - thank you! I started in a complete vacuum of melodeon info. so my playing just went the way it went!
Thank you so much, I found it inspirational
Good to know - thank you.
