    DEFINITIONS:
Volumes (OTVI): This shows us real data of how many tenders are offered by shippers to carriers- how much freight there is in the market. Because offerings happen in advance, we can see what the future volumes will look like.
Rejection Rates (OTRI): How many contract carriers refuse from loads? This is real time data of loads that were rejected by carriers- the more rejections, the higher the rates, and the more loads end up on the loadboard.

Nice to see you Miranda. The high fuel price is enough to discourage a lot that was just barely hanging on. It discourages me and my rig is paid for.

I had a broker tell me that previous years, shippers would negotiate load rates once a year. She said this year they have already renegotiated three times. And the rates have went down each time.

  • @hell_pike9150

I think somebody in the comments once told me that contracts are renegotiated between 3 and 12 months. I've seen them talk about it on freight waves quite a few times over the last month and they all say that the contract rate will come down.

What can we expect? Truckers are cutting each other’s throats. Unfortunately there is a lots of people that they think , having direct connection with shippers , they are good . Nope ! So, we better work together or all of us are going to suffer the consequences.

Interesting to see some of the background. I do disagree agree with the supply and demand philosophy. Other industries have manipulated this through overhead, such as storage & more for less. You touched the subject. The industry keeps the freight low. Examples are parking, fuel process. These are our overhead, similar to storage. Indicates our supply exceeds demand.

Your videos help me book good loads for dry van. Last two weeks chart in your video showed good rejection rates out of Pittsburgh and that's where I booked a load for next to labour day and guess what? I found a straight through paying $900 for 240 miles. I believe in research after I stepped into psychology and so far it has paid off.

    • @TLane-fd5ee
      @TLane-fd5ee ปีที่แล้ว

We found out quickly during COVID what services and companies were essential. Shipper-Broker-Carrier....Eliminate the middle and loads keep moving from the shippers to their customers all over the world. Eliminate the Carrier and nothing moves anywhere. Brokers and Shippers benefited greatly from the passage of deregulation legislation in our industry in the late 70s and early 80s, essentially establishing freight pricing with no oversight, thus reducing transparency and monopolizing all transactions with a carrier. How can one get educated when the goal post keeps being moved to benefit brokers & shippers. Easy to assume one isn't educated when you don't know if the money you're getting is FMV. When an O/O is contracted to a carrier, he/she knows what percentage of the gross revenue they'll be getting. Not saying it's a perfect process, but you don't have to guess all the time. When a load is sold to a broker, the carrier has no way of seeing that brokers invoice. How can you educate yourself when you can't gain access to the most important info. So, when Miranda keeps mentioning brokers and shippers in the way she does, it's to demonstrate how the relationships between all entities are severely strained. Trust and believe, the paradigms will shift to the carriers sooner than you think when more of these direct freight apps and logistics block chain technology become the norm. You won't be able to stop the avalanche unless you work on shoring up the relationships.

I live in Utah and I do not move my Reefer for
    Less
Than 4 dollars per mile . I just got a load from
    Slc to phoenix , 750 miles for 3500 , 26f , 2 deliveries.
Do You know why ? Because I wait till all those cheap haulers leave my town .
Your information telling people that they are ok hauling loads for
Less than 3 dollars and they are &$@;: that they believe it .

I am just reading off the data- according to the 5 year average the rate was at 2.70- which means currently even with the horrible expenses we are lower. I am not saying that you should RUN for 2.70.

      @@TRANSPORTKING1988 are u O/O?
      Seriously???
Look , so hopefully you will understand how I work .
Last year I only run 22,000 miles loaded amd empty . All
Those miles averaged above 4.00 per mile .
You know why I run only 22,000 miles , because people like you would not let me run my business . Because people like you would take down to bankrupt my business .
I did my IFTA . The Las 4 quarters I run close to 31,000 miles , do you have any idea how I survive ? I m disciplined in my business . I wait for people like you to take the crap amd when broker don’t find cheap labor like you , they call me amd I ask for my rate , do you get it ?
      I hope you do .
