I pulled the leather part up on the shifter and found a rod sticking out of the shifter. I pushed it back in and it worked fine. Although I did need a piece of tape to keep it in from falling back out.

I had this same problem it was the shifter for me i fix it by pulling shifter back to low gear and using a little force to move it back to park then car shut of just fine. Im sure the issue has to do with something loose in the shifter maybe a control module issue

The dealer advises it is the multiplex control issue, to the tune of 802.50. This may or not fix it. The car is 2 months out of the 3 year warranty. How does a part this critical to safety and security go bad in 3 years and just under 53,000 miles? How is a part this critical not covered by at least the power train warranty? Currently the car won't start without because of this control unit. Boo hiss.

It was a module within the fuse block, see description for more information.

Unfortunately it is a Honda manufacturing error in the BCM (Body control module unit) controls a large part of the dashboard systems, it is activated by some factory error, which in turn activates the dashboard, once the dashboard is turned on, The anti-theft security system detects that there is a theft attempt, because the key is not there and the dashboard is on, at the same time the doors are locked, which triggers the alarm, the BCM activates itself, when it wants, that can It can happen at any time, the only solution is to change it, put a new one on it, and reprogram it and that's it for $1,100, the other is that the power button is damaged, the simple solution is to change it, and the last one is that they have been polarized to the driver's door glass, a very fragile sensor is located there, and for some unknown reason it activates the BCM, the solution is to let it dry for a few days! Otherwise the BCM has been damaged! And as a last option Try to replace the batteries of the remote control and disconnect both cables from the battery for 10 minutes, the 2! In the meantime, all you have to do is loosen the nut on the black cable (battery negative pole) and disconnect it every time you park the car, this will prevent the battery from running out and the alarm going off! 38800-TBA-C410-M1 that's the part number
