Ah yes the old LMF200 Gauge. I got 2 of them for my 06's. They are hard to find now. I got all my eng stuff NMEA2000 into my 15 inch display. It shows way more parameters than the lowrance gauge.
Looks like Zuks maybe in my future pretty soon.

Hello Skippa!! gawd I hope my vision doesn't get that bad that I ever need twin 15'' screens! I'm connected into my litl' Garmin and never use it. Doesn't tell me anything better than this gauge. This gauge is ''okay'', but is better than nothing. I don't know how accurate the data is. But I'm used to it.....and the 3-6 O2 sensor codes, hahaha

Great video! Do you have any information about how to re-establish connections to bus devices? I have a DF200 and performed an oil change and reset of the oil life (turn key to On, removed kill switch key, then pull out on the kill switch 3 times). That procedure reset all settings in my LMF-400 gauge including the list of bus devices. I used to have the engine in the list but now it’s not displaying. I’ve gone through the boat setup procedure per the manual but the only bus device that displays is the fuel system. Any ideas on what I can do besides taking it into the shop?
I'd "wild guess" you're still missing something, a setting on that really confusing and very poorly designed gauge. That's what I'd do. Just keep trying combinations to that puzzle. Maybe disconnect ALL power, as it seems to have a capacitor or something that holds power to hold preset setting??????

I have DF300 2013 and 1500 RH. Haven’t seen any error messages yet so far, should I worry about? And, just wondering how many hours did you run on your previous DF250 2014? Someone told me the lifetime of our engines is between 3000-5000 RH.

like a car, you may have to visit a real suzuki shop and have it plugged in to the computer to clear all codes. I know...NO ONE wants to do that!
Appreciate all the advice in your videos. I am about to put a Df140 on my 21` bluefin aluminum. Hard to find the drive by wire 140BG but I can buy the 140a locally. Worth driving far and paying 1k more for the drive by wire instead of hydraulic?
100%❗❗ its not DRIVE by wire. Zero to do with steering or HYDAULIC. Steering can be hydraulic. It's all about the shifting, and not sure if there's a 140 with it. You may have to step up to a v6 150 to get fly by wire, (aka: shifting.) NO more cables. It spoils ya. Smooth and precise. NEVER a single , '''GGrrrr, clunk'' into gear ever again. Plus, you'll get the newest gauge package. Fuel monitoring of GPH, used and no need for a gas gauge thats so in accurate.
@@CaptDavesSportfishing DF140BG was new for 2021. I could put a 175 on the boat, but I am no guide, just the wife and dogs...so saving that 75 lbs of weight seems smart with Democrat fuel prices. Sounds like you're telling me it's worth searching for the shift by wire. I thought it was electric steering too, I should research it more. Appreciate the response. Tight lines!
Hey Capt Dave just stopping in to say your the man. I dont own a Suzuki I run a mercury but enjoy all your videos. This is shorevapor I had to change my gmail handle my daughters kept asking me why my name is shorevapor when they email me lol.
I KNOW....all modern outboards have the same deal I'll assume. So this goes for everyone.

@@shoresharp8349 Doubt its for the 15 kicker. Yeah, I studied New 2020 Mercs HARD, and saw all the new stuff, before figuring it was more cost effective to stick w/ zuki. Merc has a gauge that tells all like mine, too.

I got another message on my old style round Suzuki gauge for a 2007 df300. It shows a large P with the word oil directly underneath the P. Any idea what that means? Thanks again for all of your information on your channel 😊

Thanks for the informative Suzuki videos. I have a 2007 Suzuki df300. Last trip out when I was loading boat onto the trailer I got a w-2 code and the engine would not start. I trimmed the engine all the way up and then back down, turned the key again and it started up. I can’t seem to find anything on the internet about a w-2 code. Wondering if you have?

i''d assume since in the world of outboard motor electronic sensors, a 2007 is an ancient motor. No codes I have start with a letter they are all numbers ie: 2-3, 3-6.... I asked a subscriber who's a zuki mechanic and works on a lot of ole crusty motors. I'll see what he says, and let ya know. You may have to find a zuki mechanic who has a lot of grey hair, and remembers the "ole days".
asked my buddy the zuki mechanic. He said there's never been a W-2 code. Even in the early days, because a W would be hard for a gauge to show. Even on small motors the codes are numerical.
Any idea what 4-5 is? Been looking online and can’t find that specific one
4 - 5 does not exist on my year engines. a 4 - 3 is fuel injectors
I'm going to buy a new Suzuki at the end of this year.
always wait till boat show time, to get best ''rebates'', and work the best deal. if so I wouldn't get any new motor with out the ''fly by wire'', soooo much better than cables. B-U-T, not all zuki's come with the option. It's called he AP models that have it. So, as an example don't think a 115 is a AP model. Larger HP's are AP's. In 2014 I got a $1300 rebate and used the $ towards rigging costs and a new zuki prop.The 2020 motor I got only $800 rebate.
I had a 2014 df100 and the same gauge, everything works except trim display. Shows 100% even after calibratiing up and down position.... any help for me?
the gauge reads the trim switch, and is dialed in underneath the steering tube, there's a indicator under there. I never have made my perfect. I know by the feel.
Hello friend, I have a question for you. I have a suzuki 225 2010 that for the first time I had a problem. When I turn on the key, its beep is low and when I turn it on it does nothing, but on the clock it shows the Ck engine flashing four times, it pauses and flashes 2 more times. In your experience it could be those codes that it shows on the screen.

I have a Johnson J70FTLEC, aka 70HP 4 stroke w/ EFI Johnzuki, manufactured 12/1997. I am getting a 1-3 code that I can't find on any lists. Do you have any idea what that might be? I know there is a 3-1 code but mine is flashing 1-3. It does it over and over but there's no doubt it's 1 blink, pause, then 3 blinks, pause, 1 blink, pause, then 3 blinks... so on and for forth. Thanks in advance for any help.

I have a 2019 DF250 SS with less than 50 hours on it. I run primarily shallow bays in the Corpus Christi area. In the mornings when I first start the engine it will rev up to about 1200-1300 then idle perfect. After running across the bay for a period of time, shut down the motor, fish for a period of time, go to restart, motor revs up to 2100-2200 then immediately dies followed by 3 beeps. I have analog gauges so no codes are visible. It will do this anywhere between 6-12 times before it will restart. I have it at the suzuki dealer where I bought it but suzuki is not being much help...thoughts?
FIND A BETTER MECHANIC! you need better gauge, as I mentioned. Someone needs to hook it up to the software.
@@CaptDavesSportfishing They hooked it up to software and revealed no codes or faults but it is still a persistent problem. Think I'm going to change dealerships. Thanks for the input

The O2 sensor is NOT just "emissions crap". It's part of the closed-loop system (along with air metering and engine temp) REQUIRED for electronic fuel injection to function. That's why your fuel burn went through the roof. The O2 sensor could no longer "smell" whether you were burning rich, or burning lean. And to ensure the engine's safety, it erred on the side of caution and went full rich.

You could always go back to carbs. I mean, you'll spend more on fuel than you would have on O2 sensors, have worse part-throttle response and there'd be no more telemetry coming out of the engine, but hey, no more O2 sensors. Or pesky codes to read.

sounds like the BCM or boat control module in an ap model. it should be completely warranted. BCM is kinda like a hub for digital info from motor to controls and gauges .
Have you seen a “Check Gauge C” code message? Have it on both gauges.
never seen such on this gauge.
Hey brother, I have a 2005 DF-250. I'm getting this AUDIO alarm (no lights) thought maybe it was a over heating prob. but NO after changing out the 2 thermostats and the one you did a video on (Pressure reg. Thermostat underneath the Tupperware on the right side... I'm still getting this BEEP.. I have a 6sec. video just don't know how to put it on here for you to see. Anyhow,, you have any ideas what this could be?
I'll send this to my viewer OROWOCK he's a zuki mechanic. LOOK FOR IT. he should respond. Guess there's no codes? Which is double wierd, but yours is a OLD zuki.
@@CaptDavesSportfishing I'm thinking either a low voltage alarm or one of the sensors???? Happen in and out of the water. When I put it in gear, the alarm goes away... put it back in N and it will come back.
No code but a beep? Is it continuous sound or intermittent? For lack of better words, Is it a BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP or beep, beep beep, ? sorry don't know any other way to ask. Seeing your other post it could be the shift position sensor, not uncommon for them to go with age, If it was neutral safety switch you probably wouldn't get the motor to crank at all. It should be throwing a code. In other words the control module thinks you are starting the motor in gear because of the failed sensor. Im just taking a shot in the dark I'm not there and it's the simplest answer with limited info I can come up with. this should be the part number please verify if this is the problem and you intend to purchase. 13580-93J01

@@orowock1 no it's a BEEP, ....BEEP,.... BEEP. And it will start this only after about 5 min. sitting in N while in the water. As soon as I put it in gear, it will stop. Then put it back in N and with in 2-3 min. the BEEP,.... BEEP,.... BEEP,.... comes back, No lights, just AUDIO
are the 4 stroke beeps the same as the 2stroke beeps

Here’s one for u Capt Dave, brand new Suzuki 300AP, got a 3-3 error, but it only comes up on my GPS, not on the Suzuki gauge, seems to me like this code came along when I attempted to start the motor not realizing it was in gear….
I never pay attention ever, to the mirror'ed reading of my gauge on my Garmin. I got the cable and all that. Turns out for me it's useless. But that's interesting one ya got there..
What about 3.7 flash….. I hear it’s an error message, can’t seem to rid the flash.

if you don't have a multi-gauge like this, ''showing the hours'', you'll need to plug it in to a motors computer with the software. any suzuki shop has the diagnostic software hook ups.
I use the same multimeter as you, but I don't know how to press the engine hours?
@@meme330212 it's the dumbest gauge to configure ever invented, I will admit. the engineers who wrote this all up and designed it should have been fired! Use menu button and look in every ''so called'' menu topic. It's there. The more you look around and experiment, you'll see the pattern of who this stupid thing works.
