Would you recommend the SHADO or the All Terrain pack for a plus 500 mile walk from France to Santiago, Spain? Also which of the two do you find more durable?

Between the two, I’d say the SHADO if you can fit all your stuff in it and if you’re not carrying more than 35lbs. But I would say, the WUULF might be more suited to something like that.

Thank you for the quick response. I greatly appreciate your input. I am looking for something lightweight and durable for 7-8 hours of walking and/or hiking per day for 35-40 days. I’ve narrowed it down to PDW SHADO 24L and Osprey Manta 24L.

@@wandering.falcon.04 my recommendation would be to load up the bag with 1.5x the equivalent weight of what you expect to carry on your trip and do a 45-60min ruck march on similar terrain that you will be on and see how comfortable it is, if there are adjustments that need to be made, or if you want to go with a different bag or whatever. I find that this does a pretty good job of simulating what it would feel like when you start to fatigue after several hours on the trail. Always better to sort that stuff out before the trip.

Thank you again 🤙🏽. I think I might go with the SHADO for durability, EDC purposes, and the hip belt. Versus the Osprey’s airspeed mesh suspension, pricing, and warranty.

How would you rate the Shado or Wuulf compared to the Switchblade? I need a new patrol pack that is quality but not overpriced.

Depends on what activities I will be doing. I use the WUULF as a summit pack and stuff it into my main sustainment pack that Carries my tent and sleeping bag etc. on summit day, I leave all that behind at camp and take the WUULF to the top or on day hikes from camp or if I’m doing some local climbing. The SHADO is my urban EDC pack and as an overnight or carry on bag if I’m going somewhere for 1-2nights (I also bring a rolling Conditon 1 case that the rest of my stuff goes into). The SB I use if I’m only bringing one bag on a 3-4 nighter. Both the SB and SHADO will also sometimes get used on day hikes ….hope this helps.
