Ninja Gaiden DS is definitely one of the most impressive looking DS games ever made. Still have no idea how Team Ninja made that game look as superb as it did. An excellent list here as always, and some games that interested me to check out as well.
Thanks so much for recommending Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective! I never heard of it before seeing your video. I just got done playing it! I blew through it in 2 days because I was having so much fun. One of the best games I've ever played! How is this game not more well-known?! It should be a popular classic.
I'd prefer to see the ds games in their original resolution in an episode talking about how pretty the games are... but it is a pretty good episode!! Thanks!!
Despite there being a lot of DS games that tickled my fancy, I've realised looking back on it that my library consists mostly of Pokémon and Kirby. So I look forward to seeing what potential recommendations I can get from this list. 1:00 - I was wondering if that was purely a presentational factor but it's interesting to hear that you do hold this game like a book. Koei Tecmo have always been able to dish out some lovely graphics, particularly on Nintendo systems, so it's no surprise to see it consistent on the DS as well. 5:39 - The titling level in Nanostray 2 and the visual vividness of the water certainly make it impress visually. There's plenty of cool stuff being thrown up on screen but not in an overly chaotic fashion that clutters up it's bright looks. 14:36 - While I've never really been a Dragon Quest fan, I do remember this ninth game tickling my interest back in the day. I do love it when games showcase all the equipment added onto your character.
I still remember when Dragon Quest IX was planned to release on two cartridges. I wonder if that would've made it possible to have all NPCs as 3D models, or if the DS just wouldn't have been able to handle that.
Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword is a great game, but I wished that TECMO would have released either an enhanced version of the NES Ninja Gaiden trilogy or a direct sequel like KONAMI did in the form of Contra 4 for the Contra series.
@@leftindarkness870 I did enjoy Another Code/Trace Memory and I believe the Hotel Dusk games are made by the same developers. I'll keep that in mind; thanks for the suggestion.
Currently playing COP recruit on the ds and let me tell you, this is perhaps the most ambitious looking game looking on the platform with visuals rivalryng that of a PS2 game.
Man, I sunk SO much time into RE:DS back in the day. That was my introduction to Resident Evil as a whole, and is also probably the reason I'm so comfortable with tank controls even now.
I find it funny for Dragon Quest IX you talked about how great the customization is, which is true, but every party member in the video looked the exact same.
Oooohhh my gosh!! MS gundam 00 is such a nice memory trip! i spended hours on that game and its pretty funny, that little game is what got me ito GUNPLA model making as the game featured a gallery of all the GUNPLA models available at the moment, i had to import my models through ebay as well haha, what a trip.
Goldeneye rogue agent was the 1st fps game i completed. I was blown away. I absolutely loved it. I borrowed it from a friend so i havent played it in a long time. Maybe ill hunt it down
emulation is pretty cool you can make these old game run at a higher fps introduce ray tracing other graphical improvements and a higher resolution use a modded switch or a phone to display the bottom screen with a touch feature
a Game i would recommend on the DS is a very obscure one. Lux-Pain. it's a DS game that can i guess be seen as a Visual Novel and a little action. There IS a flaw with it but if u can overlook it the game doesn't disappoint and that Flaw is that the Translation is very very bad. but gameplay wise, Story wise and visually the game is an interesting gem.
I wish more people would try Infinite Space for the NDS, I feel like I was the only one that played that game and it's so obscure, but it was super fun!
Best Visuals on the DS :- Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Mugen no Frontier EXCEED Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days Kingdom Hearts Re:coded Soma Bringer Dragon Ball Z: Attack of the Saiyans Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story Pokemon Black Version 2 Okamiden Solatorobo: Red the Hunter The World Ends with You Mario Kart DS Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia
Dementum is definitely scary because enemies come out of literally no where. It runs 60 which is truly incredible for a ds fps game while looking quite nice. Sadly the level design is quite poor making it not so fun for me.
The DS had a lot of really good looking and solid playing games for sure. I wish though that Nintendo had skipped the dual screen/touchscreen aspect of the system though. To me it came across as gimmicky and poorly implemented. Trying to use both the touchscreen and dpad/buttons, especially with an action type game was unnecessarily cumbersome. The system would have been so much better had they stuck with a single screen design like it's predecessor. Not having to fill 2 screens at once would have also left more room on the cartridge for other game assets and allowed more power for driving the single screen instead. Still had a lot of fun with it but it could have been so much better IMO.
If you mind... I would strongly advice you to put the actual graphics as shown in the console rather than crank up the polygon resolution and clean it up since it isn't as shown in the console... specially regarding in a video about "Graphically impressive" games.
It's disingenuous. It should be called: "Graphically Enhanced DS Games." There are people who now think these games look like this. They don't. DS Games look like PS1 games.
Glad you take the advice from your viewers to put the title of the game in each gameplay!
I really appreciate this too
Same I'm also glad
Agreed
Sometimes I think ds games are more addictive than psp games although both are very old nowdays standard 😅.
Dementium is a great horror game. Was originally intended to be a Silent Hill game. Also it's been remastered on the 3ds eshop as a digital download.
Ninja Gaiden DS is definitely one of the most impressive looking DS games ever made. Still have no idea how Team Ninja made that game look as superb as it did. An excellent list here as always, and some games that interested me to check out as well.
Thanks mate 🙂 I know right! It’s looks incredible!
Totally agree. It looks like early Dreamcast graphic
Thanks so much for recommending Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective! I never heard of it before seeing your video.

Ive always been a sucker for low poly 3D
It's so good
Better if you use melonds and upscale the resolution
I'd prefer to see the ds games in their original resolution in an episode talking about how pretty the games are... but it is a pretty good episode!! Thanks!!
i can say from personal experience dragon quest 9 was in its original resolution just sized up to fit the whole screen for the video
Whenever I see Avalon Code on this channel I'm reminded of why I should play it. I'm a big fan of the team who did FF3, FF4 and FFT4HoL on the DS.
Got myself a DSi XL yesterday and I've been watching your recommendation videos. Very useful, thank you 🙏
Wow, I had no clue these fps games were available on the DS! Great content
Thanks Mefoo! There’s a bunch of awesome FPS games on the DS, I’ll have to do a video covering them all 🙂
Point Blank is awesome to
COP The Recruit was originally supposed to be a game from the Driver series and it even has nearly the same map as Driver Parallel Lines
Dragon Quest IX is so good! I need to give it another go.
Avalon Code looks pretty fun. I'll have to give it a shot! Same with Dementium and Dragon Quest IX
Its a Nice Game for sure But far Form Perfect
It's memorable and beautiful but it gets really really repetitive at some points and the story is straight up horrendous and unsatisfying.
@@mohamedaminekhadhraoui6417 i don't remember anything from the story, it's just some generic stuff, but the gameplay was nice and chill

Thanks José! I’ll get there one day 😅
Never had a chance to own a DS… these games look awesome.
they are not that expensive second hand, but You can always emulate em on your pc or smartphone
i know its likely not intentional but the consistent shoehorning of "RA YOU" for Ryu's name is very funny lol
Ghost Trick is my favourite ds game
These are some great looking games but also pretty expensive. Another great video.
Thanks for watching Des!
tekken 2 console opening song at the start
Not heard of Cop: The Recruit, it looks on par with the PS2 GTAs.
Can’t get enough of your lists, always adding something to my daily driver dsi
Currently playing COP recruit on the

COP:The Recruit is a decent game but having an open world in a DS game IN 3D is INSANE!
Great list! havent heard of some of these, i would love to give some of them a go
Ordered my first DS lite, arrives 11/10. This is perfect.
Nice! Hope you found some new games to try in the video 🙂

Ghost trick the goat ds game
Avalon Code and DQ IX good times, wait i have both of them in my modded 3DS. Time to play it again.
Brilliant video as always mate....I'm watching right now in my dinner time, btw perfect timing :))
Haha hope you enjoy it man!
Both Nanostray games are great but 2 is the definite winner. So glad you showed it off! 👍
Such a great little shooter! Thanks for watching Reagan 🙂
-Ninja Gaiden dragon sword
-avalon code
-nanostray 2
-ghost trick phantom detective
-dementium the ward
-mobile suit gundam 00
-dragon quest 9
Amazing, btw i'm still surprised that no one mention dragon quest monster joker series (1 to 3 all are amazingly good graphically)
👍 thanks for the video brother.

What filter do you use on DS? (I only have the default) They really look great!
He's using MelonDS emulator I think
COP the recruit trully looks incredible as a DS game
Incredible how they got it up and running on the handheld!
Avalon Code looks awesome; I had never heard of it.
I didnt know the ds had such a power. new suscriber here
I own Ghosttrick it interested me into a non Ace attorney capcom game and DQ9 was my intro into Ds and 3DS GAMES, both are my go to ds games
Such great games!
Dragon Quest 9 is my Favorit DS Game with Harvest Moon The Grand Bazaar and The Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass
Awesome video! Ghost Trick is without a doubt the best game on the list. I heard it was recently rated for Korea. Remake incoming? 🤞🤞🤞
Oh man would love to see a remake!
I'm always looking for unique ds games, great video!
Hope you found something new 🙂
love the list but please add some timestamps & some visuals & captions.
The BGM for the Ninja Gaiden part is taken from "Cold Fear" right?! 😊
Ghost trick is great
Such a solid game!
For all the dark souls and monster hunter hype I’m surprised we didn’t hear more about the ninja gaiden ds game

Any possibility of a PSVR video down the track if you own one. I think you would love the game Moss
Unfortunately I do not own one! 😩 hopefully I can find one on the cheap, as I’d love to do some content on it.

Hi.
How You've made those videos? They are in bigger resolution!
Was it any filter in emulator?
I like Avalon Code. Repetative, but impressiv in many aspects.
Great video!
Thanks!

Nostalgia, LoZ: Phantom hourglass & spirit tracks, and castlevania series (since ghost trick was included) has some nice graphics too.
Ninja "Raiu"?
As always a great and insightful series with a couple (super expensive!!!) gems I hadn't heard of :-)
Glad you found something new 🙂
I was sad to they never made a Resident Evil 2 Deadly Silence for 3DS. The first Deadly Silence game was really good.
Would have been awesome to see RE2 on the DS!
Another great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Avalon code looks very interesting. But it’s 170€ holy f

Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia
Just curious, were some of the footage taken from emulators? I don't recall the DS have such sharp 3D graphics (e.g. The Gundam 00 footage)
Im sure it is. Theres no way native ds can produce image as sharp as this 😂
Avalon Code one of the best jrpg on DS list.
