The lyrics of "HIP", the main song of the new MAMAMOO album, talk about living a life that looks more like you (as you like), without worrying about the eyes of others. That "happiness" comes from a heart that loves (itself) from every heart.
My favourites are how they stated that you are HIP when you work in predominantly male industry (music company CEO, president, boxer, etc). You are also HIP when you are in typically female roles (princess, artist, female singer, and especially, MOTHER).
What I love about Hwasa and this song is how she’s calling out the Korean people/media. She made headlines because of her airport fashion and was called inappropriate but honestly literally everyday people in the US wear that kind of stuff so it’s not big deal. She looked great but everyone attacked her. They always attack her because of her fashion choices and looks but she kills them all.
She didn't produce the song she composed the song I heard? But I don't think it would make that much of a difference because either way this song is A BOP.😌
leaving aside the amazing vocals, choreo (by Lia Kim a famous choreographer), visuals and music base...the LYRICS! This is a dissing song for all stupid and hateful comments Mamamoo keep on getting for their outfits, they're telling all those people writing malicious comments on them keep on zooming and clicking like obsessed but everything about us is hip. Hip means cooler than cool, the pinnacle of what is "it", beyond all trends and conventional coolness. Mamamoo are telling us whatever you are and whatever job you have, you deserve to be blessed and acknowledged for what you do not for what you wear. They comeback with a FULL album, 11 beautiful songs with wide wide wide music genres. Hwasa co-wrote and co-composed the title track 'Hip'. About the Universe concept everything starts with Destiny, the song they performed at Queendom. There are 4 universes in the 1st one Moonbyul, Solar, Wheein and Hwasa are the members of Mamamoo but in the other 3 they live different lifes and do different jobs (like boxer, choreographer, president, environmentalist and so on) but in each Universe the meet with each other in some way because it's their destiny. By the way the album topped iTunes chart WORLDWIDE!
We can conclude that now, whenever RAHIM made a reaction on Mamamoo, it’s not only a reaction video, it’s more of a professional musical analysis on Mamamoo! Thank you!

Their main concept for this album is that even if they weren’t Mamamoo (hence the universe 2-4), they would have still met and become best friends (a story mainly told through Destiny, which is why it’s the first track of the album). I’m no musical expert but listening to HIP, I had the feeling it was kinda like an old style mixed with modern sounds (like electro) especially the chorus, it just sounds so particular & unique. They’re basically saying the public can say whatever they want, Mamamoo is strong and couldn’t care less.
