Amazing song. Takes me to a place I find myself often, reflecting about my late brother David who passed almost 14 years ago. “Take me back to where we used to play, hang on every word hang on every moment”, those lyrics hit like a ton of bricks. Whenever I dream of him there is an incredibly tangible need to never wake up and hold him for eternity. Beautiful song

I've been listening to Jack since I was 3 (14+ years now) - his music always brings me back to my core. I'm sure so many others relate - even if they are new listeners. Everything about Jack is comforting and feels like home.
I completely agree with you. The first movie I ever saw in theaters as a little kid was Curious George (2006), and my family and I loved the soundtrack to the movie so much that we went straight to the store to get the CD after seeing the movie. The music was done by Jack Johnson and, well, the rest is history. Jack Johnson music feels like coming home, like going back to my roots, like going back to being a little kid with so much heart and enthusiasm. I will be seeing him in concert this summer for the first time and I feel like it will be a full circle moment. Truly amazing how an artist can make us feel more connected to ourselves :)
after putting it to to sleep listening to this song several times I discovered something, the music is so special that at 1:37" a bird decides to take its last flight right there behind the pair, to the sound of such a beautiful singing it gives what seems to be its last landing and right there, composing the backdrop for "If Ever" he left, it just proves how special Jack and Paula are! I love Jack and follow him whenever he comes to Brazil, I love all Brushfire records singers and whenever he comes to Brazil I find a way to go see them wherever I go

I rarely listen to Jack much these days.. I kinda forgot about him for many years... when I kinda forgot who *I* was for many years. ..
But more recently since I'm finally coming back to who I am, the new creation I am (thank you Jesus,) after so many years of fighting my demons and then on top of that going on to develop chronic physical illness too, which brought a whole new level to, "Who am I/who is this person?" I am now coming back to music that fell by the way side.
This song is the perfect reminder that actually, who I always needed to be was just *me* And that whilst I can love dubstep and reggae music still, I'm mostly the kinda girl (now woman,) who does just love listening to such amazing artists such as Jack Johnson and Julia Stone, who used to fill my ears so many years ago and who still have the power to make me feel that although so many (hard,) years have passed since I first discovered Jack back in my 20's after living a year in Australia, that life can be simple and beautiful, and that perhaps my dreams can stay alive for a wee while longer....
The moment I hear his voice, I'm back in my 20's (now 40's,) melting, smiling, living.. Peace. And this collab is beauuuutiful. Both voices complimenting each other perfectly. Just lovely.
