Spent 3 weeks in Scotland for our honeymoon way before Outlander (just about to celebrate 28 years)…. So amazing…the unspoiled natural beauty, the history and the incredible people. Travelled to MANY places, Scotland one of my absolute favorites.
Scotland is truly magical and beautiful, never has a story like Jamie and Claire pulled my heart strings so much, l just want this to never end 💜💜💜

I find it frustrating that Visit Scotland are using Outlander as advertising and yet, not one television company has taken up the option of showing the series. Can I ask why not? The books have a huge following in this country and I find it strange that Visit Scotland are not promoting this in their own country.

I concur, it's outrageous that a show filmed in Scotland with predominantly Scottish actors and crew isn't being shown in Scotland! Someone needs to give the UK TV stations a kick up the erse!
MissTeeFy Its been shown in ireland on RTE cathriona Balfe is irish originally from county monaghan in the republic though.
+Joseph Boland I'm not aware of this station as it's not available in Scotland! When I say UK TV I mean mainstream channels like BBC or ITV or SKY channels.
Well its the irish national broadcaster and i am aware its not available in the UK(except northern Ireland).Most of the cast is scottish yet having one irish actress(all be it leading actress) in the series is sufficient reason for RTE to broadcasting it on its own..One thing about us irish is we support our own.RTE not a perfect channel by any means,but it is a very positive by product of independence.Alex salmond wanted to retain BBC when scotland achieves independence which is ridiculous you are never going to serve the broadcasting needs of your country when you are letting a foreign broadcaster describe your national experience.Ye bottled independence may be ye don't have a sence of yourselves a nation anymore and part of that is that you haven't a state Broadcaster.

joann stirton the setting for season 4 is that they are in America but it's all still filmed In Scotland
North Carolina was settled by many of the Scottish people. Outlander is still a Scottish story, even in America.
