Jack, that was a great video! 😁👍👏 Thanks so much for sharing. I have a heart defect and would never be able to make that staircase!😮 I love how you shared as you discovered. So fun! I can’t wait to see more. 💗
Great video! I would just dispute the way you say Rijeka was never a part of Croatia until 1945. By that logic Venice was never part of Italy until 1945 either, or at least 1861... I mean you do have the Kingdom of Croatia credited in the small table that pops up, but the short explanation is kind of misleading (although admittedly catchy)...
I found it easier than Germany for English. Just about everyone I talked to spoke it fluently and I agree with Jack that it’s of a high standard in other Croatian cities as well. The locals also seem to like speaking English and are friendly as well.

Been there last year, not bad! It was gloomy and rainy though
Thanks for the tour. I drove by it this summer and went to Pula and Rovinj.
the theater building was build under Austrian empire, not Italia
Rijeka has mediteranian verson of hasburg archetecture not italian
Reminded me of Central European Habsburg buildings as well.
@@hcrofficial3582 Yes, the Italian style apartment buildings were there too.

Was it easy to communicate with the locals? Just wondering how many people speak English in Rijeka.
I plan to visit in July.
English levels are great in Rijeka and Croatia in general these days!
I'm living 1 year in Rijeka and you can survive with English 😊

Is there a beach in Rijeka?
Not in the city center but on West (Kantrida) and East (Pecine) parts are beaches reachable with city transport.

Market is open every day but it is just a shadow of market just 10 or 20 years ago.
11:30, Really? No way. Before eating, ask the staff, do they accept credit card, even though if they don't speak English.
Opatija is an interesting city, as are eastern Croatia, Vukovar and Osijek
