This episode shows Dwight being Dwight so well. He believes stupid shit, but he also has his boundaries: he thought the dead horse's chopped off head in your bed was an exaggeration, and the removing the fear center from Michael's brain, but not the mafia man coming into a mid-size paper company for a low level shakedown.
Every time my 12 year old son hears the music playing with the graphic "The Deeper Meaning" he instinctively says "What does a bean mean" quickly followed by "can someone please explain it to Kevin?" He says it on cue from across the room and nails it every time. Cracks me up when he does it cuz I'm never expecting it. He might actually be your biggest fan! Haha.
Jim didn’t say he was on his cellphone on the catamaran… He said, “how did you get this number?…” and Michael explains he had to lie to get through to him. They could have patched them between boat radio and and phone on mainland/satellites/etc, they did have that technology in 2009.
There has to be boring times in the office. We wouldn't know we don't see the back end footage like that. This makes sense to have a crew come up on like Tuesday and Thursday and they capture THIS. If it's supposed to be real and not "reality" exciting things wouldn't actually be happening every day
Your coverage on this episode was actually more entertaining than the episode itself 😆... now don't get me wrong, it IS a pretty okay episode but also pretty bleh 😕 ...I give this Field Guide a 5 out of 5 😆👍
I think this episode was meant to show or give us something we never got , the office without Jim and Pam , we got it without Jim, then without Pam, now it’s both
another great review. i know ur always trying new formats but i really like how you kept all the stats at the beginning in one frame (writer director view count and rating)
I didn't know gabbagool was a real thing either. I assumed Michael was either mispronouncing something else, just speaking Italian sounding gibberish for some reason, or maybe asking for something from a tv show or movie that doesn't really exist lol. I thought the waitress not knowing what it was was essentially the show's way of saying it wasn't a real thing
You know I have to say because you have a Thesy as him for other television series. You should probably start covering them it would definitely help your channel grow a lot more, and then you wouldn’t have Bernal on the office by always talking about that specific show, I guarantee if you did a handful of episodes on breaking bad or the Sopranos you would easily double or triple your audience subscribers.
I'm the type that got bothered in this episode wondering how did Jim and Pam manage in PR without their credit card. (I guess they have a different one just for emergencies.)
Puerto Rican here, yes you could get cell reception in a boat in or in the early 2000’s. I know cause I did it myself. It’s not that big of an island and boats dont go that far out.
As someone who only watches mafia movies & doesn’t like sitcoms. (Except the office) this episode made me love the office even more. Most, if not all of the office audience probably doesn’t like anything that has to do with mafia movies. That’s why it is rated so low. Cuz they don’t find it funny.
I just want to let you know that there is two cosa nostra crime families in Missouri, one being in St. Louis and the other in Kansas City . St. Louis family is pratically dead with less then 10 old timers that still around some type of racket , Kansas City is probably in a better position with like 20 made guys and a dozen younger guys as associate . The two families are now just the shadows of what they once were . And for info there was also one in Scranton.
Gabagool sounds good. Too bad we're having frozen chicken nuggets for dinner at my house... This episode is one of my least favorites because it follows Niagara (one of the best).
OK so when they call Jim, Jim hangs up and you can hear as he puts the phone down in the base or what ever you call it but he's on a boat. A catamaran. There's no land line out there.
i just think it’s boring. like the whole mafia thing i thought was too far-fetched, no jim or pam and i was really upset that kevin did that to them. on my rewatch, ill definitely be skipping this alongside scott’s tots
"Gabagool" is just a north jersey fake italian accent pronunciation of capicola. It is not a real thing on its own... jesus I hate the Sopranos for this.
I really hate this episode. The mobster thing is stupid. I skip it. The only good part is Kevin goofing up Jim's credit card, and that's not worth it. And no, "Dumb and Dumber" was not a kids movie. It's for teen-agers.
"I will have the gabagool"
Bring in the gabagool!
This is the moment Michael Scott ordered the gabagool
If the salad is on top, I send it back
Andy: gaba-ooo
Bring him the gabagool

13:36 Kevin's face is Kevin's face!
The gabagoo line deserves a 5/5 itself.

Your son and I share this behavior
I lie in bed at night hearing kevin ask "what does a bean mean?!"
This gives me, Dwight with the Altoid vibes 😂
I’ll have the spaghetti with a side salad. If the salad comes on top, I will send it back.
The "threatened me with testicular cancer" line kills me!
Fun fact: Kansas City, Missouri has had a super long history of mob involvement.
Yea - I thought I should have researched that more before I said it. Don't think there's much from my cornfield, but point taken.
@@Mulverine maybe some bodies 👻
True. I saw Ozark
Are they Italian though?
Eh, yo that's where I live. Maybe I've seen a mobster selling insurance here
When Kevin knows he fucks up... And just "hm"... I couldn't stop rewatching. I love Kevin

"Gee Brain, what do you want to do tonight? Same thing we do every night Pinky, try to take over the world!"
I love that actor. He was so funny on Dumb Dumber "Get my pills. My ulcer."
The best part was Oscar realizing he was the straight man (no pun intended lol) when Jim and Pam aren't there.
St. Louie Missorui actually has a long history of Italian Mafia crime families - The Giordano Crime Family.

If the field guide comes burnt, I will send it back.
Lmao, I thought gabbagool was some kind of soup.
The red border on the thumbnail made me think I already watched the video and almost skipped it over!!
Chris when someone commits homicide: 😃
Chris when someone says they want a meal a specific way to a server: 😡
Soft drink of his choice

I agree. Can't stand this episode. But Mulverine did a nice analysis.
He called it Tube City when Hampsterdam was sitting right there!
We had a watch party over lunch break today... thanks for your insight Chris 👍
Is there somewhere that shows the rankings of all the episodes? I am curious to see if there are any below 3. If so, 3 becomes the new 1...
Thank you Mulverine and Mechanic for shining new light on my favorite episode after season 5!! :D
Dumb and Dumber is a classic, but not necessarily a kids movie.
I think this episode was meant to show or give us something we never got , the office without Jim and Pam , we got it without Jim, then without Pam, now it’s both
This episode is one I always loved

I like that Jim and Pam didn’t appear in this episode too.
I enjoy mafia. Following up Niagara did it no favors though.
The cost of a cup of coffee an hour
The Michael Scotts of Scranton
Gabagool? Over here!

I'd love to see a video comparing Dwight to Han Solo
You are the best reviewer ever

Right. I like this episode too. Just to see Joe Mentalino act. And the "gobagoo" line is priceless. ❤😮😂
2nd time you've mentioned Missouri. 👍👍👍👍

He wasn't aggressive whatsoever and the gabagul line was a joke he was trying to be impressive
You ruined the line "he also vaguely threatened me with testicular cancer" for me by overusing it in this video!
Hey, St. Louis had The Hill.
Dumb & Dumber is absolutely not a kids' movie lol. I didn't see it until my late 20's and found it fairly amusing but yeah, def not for kids.
That was a great episode!
You think the mafias not in Missouri? St Louis bro.
Gabagool sounds good. Too bad we're having frozen chicken nuggets for dinner at my house...

Dino Chicken Nuggets?!
@@Mulverine let me get this straight: for gabagool in the US you mean the capocollo (literally: top-neck)?
Yea Erin deal with
Oooh. Capicola

Bro do you really think the meat is really called gabagool 😂😂😂😂😂
I skip this episode every single time. Can’t stand it. And I won’t even skip Season 9’s “The Farm.”
The Farm's B plot redeems all of season 9 for me.
I simply skip it coz no Jim nor Pam. I am that simple. :P
One of the worst episodes IMO

Jim Carey was not awesome.
