The Bluetooth audio was the main reason I i went with the X4. Although i haven't been able to try it because right after i got it I ended up in the hospital (not bike related) and I haven't been able to ride since while I'm recovering.
Great comparison. I currently use the X3 and it seems to be fine for my level of filming. For the best audio, I am using remote microphones - voice and exhaust.
For me the x4 is perfect because i conect it to my sena and boom perfect motovlog setup. No cables nothing... And I have a usb slot on my bike so i can charge it while recording so battery lasts forever.
Comparisons are funny. Until you put both images size by side, you probably wont notice a difference. I still watch my non oled TV which Ill keep till it dies as it works/looks fine. But I chuckle walking into a Costco and seeing all the new TVs. Even after a few OMGoshes from me, my current unit still works well even if the blacks are not blacker than black (pixels). for $150 more, I would expect a newer revisions to have better/more features than it's predecessor. That alone does not make a device better. Need, usage and consumer abilities play a huge part.
My dude you open my eyes horsepower over Pixar and beside I'm just getting my feet wet I mean don't really need to jump straight on the X4 I can't skip the line I gotta start @ X3 first and learn the basics and the best part I'll have some extra cash to drop on a DNA Air filter
Hand gesture control FTW, coz no need to buy an expensive remote to shoot while riding! That's all the reason I need to replace my dead One R with the X4
Neither of them is going to be my choice. I had a small trial of Vlogging with a small and cheap action camera. Whatever the video quality, it's VERY difficult to make anything close to an acceptable video. It requires skills and talent I will never have, so, it would be just a big waste of money...
If the X4 were 200 euro, I would get it right away, however the full price for moto usage is over 800 euros, so... no thank you! With that money I get at least 2 Action 3s and one Action 4 used and get better quality and cheaper accessories. The QooCam 3 Ultra seems way better then the X4, image quality wise. Have to wait and see. PS: why haven't you mentioned that the X3 makes two video files instead of one and it also loses a few seconds of video/sound when recording for longer periods? 360 cameras still have a long way to go. Also, Gopro will release a Max 2 later this year!
You need a fairly powerful laptop with at least 1TB HD as the files are huge (x4's are even bigger), at least 16 or better yet 32 gb Ram and at least i5 processor. i7 or i9 even better. I have the x3 and i5 processor is fine. Software - Insta360 Studio for reframing and a 3rd party software like VideoProc to edit after.
If I had to do it again and knowing what I know, I would buy a used X3 for around $200 since the X4 doesn't really have anything useful for moto riders and it's night features are kind of worst than X3's.. 8k is also over rated and I always record in 5.7k on my X4 anyways.
So much of it is the escalation of companion technology. In order to appreciate hiking the price and features and quality of the source camera, you also have to upgrade your computer graphics, computer monitor, or your giant TV. It's a domino effect. One of the things that is obviously needing an upgrade is the stupid selfie stick, which in the majority of videos I see the Insta360 used, bouncing and wobbling around like a drunken sailor. Another thing of note, if your video quality is top notch but your audio is mediocre or crap, you will NOT have a quality product. The microphones on Insta360 and GoPro and other action cameras are GARBAGE. That introduces the challenge of post-editing using a high quality audio source from a proprietary digital audio recorder. If you just need source audio from a point in time, the action cam is fine, but if your shtick is to record motorcycle vlogs where your setup is consistent, you should really invest in a Purple Panda helmet mic, a portable digital audio device, and if you're really cheeky, a Binaural 3D audio microphone system to blow the mind of the listener. Then comes the compression of TH-cam and getting the original product quality to hold over the internet.
Always remember: The most important thing about your setup is yourself. The best camera won’t do anything, if you don’t have any skill🤝
As an X3 user, I would definitely say the X4 is an upgrade, and I am tempted 😅

Bro is the most underrated content creator
This is not creation, this is advertising.
I made my choice and im going with the more cheaper x3 yes sir 👍🏼
I had a choice between a x3 or a ace pro, bought the ace pro because of me just wanting a pov shot. And the ace pro looks very awesome too

i have x3. and i have lens guard on also its fog up sometime. its not that bad but im happy with a slight fog footage than a scratched up lens.

I've heard you can connect the Cardo to the Insta to use its mic??
Have you tried the 360 live or Reframe live yet on your rides?

Can u use 33w charge with x4 device to charge ?
I went with ordering the x three. There's always going to be something bigger and better. Five hundred is enough 😂

800???
What computer or laptop are you using to edit 360 videos?

200 dlls 😂
I've heard the X4 doesn't capture raw DNG photos like the X3 does.
At this rate about half your videos are ads.
