  • This is a reaction video to Engelbert Humperdinck singing "Am I That Easy To Forget". This is a cover version of a song that has been recorded by many a great country artist. Engelbert takes the song in a different direction as if it were a night club standard. Engelbert uses his amazing voice to make this version of the song his own. Simply amazing!!!

Great reaction. Engelbert has a unique voice that give goosebumps and calmness at the same time. However he is extremely underrated despite of what he succeed past. İ wish more people hear and react his gem voice.

@@gerthenriksen8818 yes but he doesn't get fair credit nowadays. People only know a man without love due to moonknight.

Engelbert stood out from the crooners because he could sing those high notes where most crooners stayed in a sort of monotone vocal range so in that aspect Englebert could sing just about any genre of music . He's known as the king of romance songs and the velvet voice so he is a really gifted singer .

    El canta maravillosamente.
Su arte es su voz, el que tenga oidos que lo oiga, el que no, se lo pierden.
Actualmente un "artista es sinonimo de escandalo y " berridos".

Engelbert's record company changed his name in an effort to make him stand out from the crooner crowd. They took the name from the original Engelbert Humperdinck, a 19th century German composer. He's best known for his opera "Hansel and Gretel." I listened to Carl Belew's original 1958 version. He co-wrote a great song, but his singing voice, while on par for the period in Country music, couldn't pull it off with the emotion required. Singer Engelbert also released a cover of Ray Price's crossover Country hit "Release Me." "Countrypolitan Music" was popular in the late 60's/early 70's. Nashville was releasing smooth middle of the road songs with the intention of crossing over to Top 40 and Adult Contemporary stations. A lot of crooners released Countrypolitan songs: Dean Martin, Glen Campbell, Eddy Arnold, Jim Reeves, Jack Jones, Andy Williams and others. 103.1 KSCW in Sun City West, Arizona, is one of the few remaining American radio stations playing Engelbert Humperdinck songs.

I remember during these years that when Engelbert came on the scene, his appearance was a contrast to the fairly sloppy artists at that time. For me he will always be the “elegant Englishman.” And that wonderful voice!

Some songs to check out: Just Say I love Her, The Way It Used To Be, I Wish You Love. There are many more but that's a starter list, all tremendous songs.
