Driving With Todd

เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 5 พ.ย. 2021
This is Driving With Todd and I'm Todd. I love music. It is sort of my life.
On my channel you will hear many different genres of music. I react to groups and songs I have never heard before, usually suggested by my viewers. I also react and/or review groups and songs that I love from my past. When I cover a song from my past, I try to relate it to what was happening in my life at the time. This is sort of like story time with Todd.
I normally do not talk over the soundtrack of the video I am reacting to, but instead stop the video to talk about what I have heard to that point. The reason I rather stop the video then talk over it is I want to hear every note played and sung by the band. I can also give my thoughts with some detail during these stop breaks.
I hope you give my channel a try. If you like what you hear and see, please LIKE and SUBSCRIBE. Thank you!
Peace out baby!

Reaction - Kalonica Nicx and The Who - The Real Me - Keith Moon Would Be Proud
This is a reaction video of Kalonica Nicx performing a drum cover to The Who's "The Real Me" taken from the 1973 album "Quadrophenia". Covering Keith Moon is no easy task since he is a wildman at the drums with The Who but Kalonica moves right in and does a superb job. The song is a great rocker and moves right along and Kalonica keeps up the pace hitting all the right drums and cymbals in her kit. You'd swear her arms are going to fall off at the speed she moves to keep the rhythm. And what a bright and happy smile she has performing this song! Enjoy ...

This is a reaction video of Judas Priest performing a cover version of Joan Baez's "Diamonds & Rust" live in 1983. The song was originally released on Judas Priest's 1977 album "Sin After Sin". I'm British, and I never quite understood Sandi Shaw, I mean she was SUCH a unique and talented Singer - but she only ever really made Singles. I mean, she did do one or two LPs - but they were mostly cover Songs, and hardly ever included any of her hits or unique material. (apart from the usual greatest hits albums that everyone does) I don’t know if it was because she started so young (as a teenager) but she never seemed to make the most of her fame and popularity in my opinion. She never really made a comeback either - except the one hit she did with The Smiths in 1984 shown here - and that was it! We all got pretty excited at the time thinking she was back - but she wasn't... She went straight back into obscurity again... Such a shame. She was so big for those of us that were around in the 60s. I think she had SO much more to give - but never really seemed interested or enthusiastic enough. You got the gist of it when she was interviewed on the Graham Norton Show, and he asked her would she be doing any more singing - you saw her response... It’s like once the 60s were over - she turned the lights out... The fabulous Chris Andrews was responsible for most of her hits during the 60s.
Friday 6 DEC 2024..NEW Liliac OMV...a Christmas song with a metal favour....Trailer just came out, IF you want...Official Release will be this coming Friday.....

Growing up with Cold Chisel and a plethora of Aussie rock was a blast! (Original version - Wild Thing - The Troggs - 1966) Cheers from Oz.
Have to do the 1972 live concert react live marks voice
Flower of the West, the live version of Skye, Running to the Light (the wake-up call of Laurel Clark, who was killed in the Columbia shuttle explosion), there's a long list...
Love your enthusiasm. Yep.....XTC the most underrated band I a generation. I'm off to see Terry Chambers' XTC 'tribute' band (EXTC) this week in Chester, UK. They may well do this one.
'Wonder what Burt and Hal made of this?!
War is evil. People die😢
The lotto show is on every Saturday night.so instead of breaking into the Aria's they just run the numbers.
Audience so quiet, we must never interrupt greatness.
Best rendition of this song.❤ Aussie ,Aussie,
You and I are the same age, I saw The Beatles and The Rolling Stones on The Ed Sullivan Show .. and then when i heard these guys .. it was dine. My very first most favorite band to even now. The first album I bought was Mark, Don & Mel 1979 - 1971. Don Brewer is the reason for the breakup of this great band. What a shame.
Greact reaction to a fabulous song . The whole album is a masterpiece
A sandgroper is a West Australian 🎉
Assuming this is dubbed with the the album track. Which makes Grohl superfluous.
Your smile all the entire song😁Great reaction👍❤️
I bought Argus the week it was released. As a teenager it was my favourite album. It was the album that got me into playing guitar. Decades later I still think it is one of the all time great guitar albums.
After the first album the brass section had to play second fiddle..to the fiddles .. I'll get my 🧥
I love the original eventhough the older I get the less impressed I get by high pitch screaming. I think that Blackmore's Night version is great. I mean, why do a cover if it's the same as the original?
You should check out painkiller by Judas priest it's an awesome track.
This was great! Listen to their version of suite Judy blue eyes ! Awesome
Very early XTC with their original keyboardist Barry Andrews.......... Few bands evolved better than these guys. Superb group!
Yeah! I've been a fan of Wishbone Ash and those fantastic musicians since late '70s when they were on Rockpalazt! Martin Turners bass playing with a pick is muscular, melodic and inspiring. I think there is a video where he revisites these recordings and listen to his bass parts and get like "Whoah, what's that bass sound??".
I've been following Wishbone Ash since the 70's and have many of their albums to this day. Check out "Phoenix" from the first album. I've been suggesting this band to several first reaction content creators for a while, but no one seems interested. How the heck did you find them? Check out a band called UFO. The first album has a song named "Rock Bottom" which should be introduced to the mass media. Thank You for this video!
Yeah, I’m happy to have discovered this album three or four years ago. All those years ago I thought they were just another heavy metal band. But I had no idea of their musical and lyrical depth. Love the album!
Nice, crisp acoustic guitar sound!
The Emmylou Harris version is less "folky" and a bit more commercial than Sandy Denny's.
Beth Harts version is superb.
Great reaction. RESPECT
I think Tiffany had a No. 1 with this in the 80s? Lene Lovich was big in Britain - maybe not quite so in the USA.
There is no comparison preist
GREAT BIKERS SONG🎸🎸
Please react Sissel - Silent Night❤Merry Christmas
Yes, I love this song and remember it well. I can't help but remember that this song was played frequently by armed forces radio during the Vietnam War and was very relatable to our soldiers. Dean Ford had an interesting life and eventually moved to the US and was for a time a chauffeur for Michael Jackson for a time. He passed away in 2019 from Parkinson's complication but was involved in music his whole life. What a talented group this was, fond memories.
Can you just get on with it, would it be possible to hear this,? thank you!
Seeing your energy when you listened to Jerry's version was really fun to see! Amazing video
Melhor interpretação de Jesus Cristo Super star que já vi
There are three UK Glam traditions, really. 1. The Art School lot: Bowie, T. Rex. Sparks (yes, I know American, but they were a hit in UK first) 2. Teenybopper bands like The Sweet, Racey and The Bay City Rollers and 3. The "Brickies in Mascara Phenomenon" bands like Mud and Smokie (also Slade). Arguably you have Glam Folk in Steeleye Span and a Glam Singer Songwriter tradition too in acts like Elton John.
Glam was not a big thing in the US. In the UK there was a unique scene that was driven by one television programme in particular (Top of the Pops) that made the visual aspects of the performance very important. Plus there is a British love of dressing up and camp that while not unknown in the US is less central there.
You mentioned Syd Barrett and Zappa - that is a fair assessment and one that Daevid Allen (the founder of Gong) acknowledged, except that Daevid Allen had been performing poetry and music since the late 50s heavily influenced by the Beat poets and free jazz initially in his home country Australia and briefly in the USA on route to Europe. There is a recording from 1963 of the Daevid Allen Trio (featuring Robert Wyatt and Hugh Hopper - with a guest appearance from Mike Ratledge - all of whom later became Soft Machine). Soft Machine started in 1966 and were part of the underground scene sharing the bill with Pink Floyd.
Judas Priest are The Metal Gods!!!
This version is a lot like the studio version. Over the years, this has been one of their mainstays in concert, and from time to time they revamp it. So.... if you check out some other live versions you might be in for a surprise in how different it sounds.
Love the medieval rock passages they do, so unique and melodic.
They do a ballad acoustic version too. It's live and on YT.
A neat cover to hear is Marilyn Manson doing Sweet Dreams by the Eurythmics.
You should check out Rob Halford (singer) with Skid Row doing Delivering the Goods.
Subscribed. F YEAH!!!!🤘🤘
Both versions are great. Yes two guitars but the difference is both were lead guitars which is Priest trademark they brought to the Metal Sabbath created (plus Rob operatic vocals). KK Downing and Glenn Tipton trading off solo parts. Priest!!! 🤘🤘
Best war song I’ve ever heard is Paul Brady - the island ❤️
