Monte Cooley was the master - he wrote the lyrics and the music, and an incredible guitarist. I was recruited as his first bass player in, man, 1977 or 1978? We met only a few months after I became a Christian.
wow brother I played quite a lot of your songs as covers when i went to Christian College lol of course they didnt like metal there… but who cares. You guys were the best. I miss Barnabas and Jerusalem and Rez and Daniel Band and all the great music from then.
Is there any live footage of you guys that you could post? I saw many Christian concerts back in the day, but I regret never having seen Barnabas live.

Her name was Nancy Jo Mann. She testified before congress/senate about abortion. She founded an organization called WEBA (Women Exploited By Abortion). She said abortion doctors were not being honest with females about the risk and dangers of abortion. The guitarist was very good but the group flew under the radar. I use to play this for teens in drug rehab. They loved it.
the guitar player Monte Cooley not only was great, he formed the band, he wrote the songs, he organized everything, he worked his butt off, he preached salvation to the audience, he did ALL the work, with God's help of course...the other 3 members, Nancy, Gary & Kris, were just along for the ride...Monte & David Stores engineered & produced the LP as well...

I have been listening to Barnabas since the early 80's and I have always enjoyed the sound and lyrics. A great rock sound with uplifting words!
