I wanted to comment and tell Riley thank you for this idea! I didn’t have any books to donate but I did stop by my local used book store and bought a ton of books and donated them throughout my local Little Free Libraries. The cashier at the bookstore actually marked down and bunch of books and even gave some to me for free when I told her what I was doing with them. And, to add, I also stopped by a coffee shop and pick up an iced mocha latte lol 😂 Thanks, Riley. You are such an inspiration 💕
In Germany these are usually much bigger (and less cute), like old phone booths or just big cupboards. :) So it's always fun to see these more creative ones.
omg you know what you should do? you should do a video reading only books that you got from little free libraries!! i think that'll be a fun one to watch and do?
To answer your question, yes little library books exists in other countries - in mine for sure (i'm from France). We have such free public library book boxes usually near schools, town halls, public parks, city centers etc...
This is great that you helped stock the Little Free Libraries. It's expensive for the people that have them/maintain them (a lot of people don't leave a book). Thanks for doing it and encouraging others to do the same!
Mercedes Lackey is so great! Her first trilogy in that universe starts with Arrows of the Queen which is my favorite. It’s not steamy from what i remember but there is a romance woven into all of them. One of the trilogies has an MM couple
We have those in the Czech Republic as well 😊 although they are not so common and they are usually made by the city 🙂 for example in my boyfriend's hometown they used an old phone booth on the town square and transformed it to a little free library 🙂
My neighbor use to have a LFL but she had to take it down because the homeless in the area kept taking the books and burning them for warmth and the kids who she tried to stock it for weren't getting any of the children's books. I asked her why she just didn't stock it with food or something and she said she had tried that years ago and it ended up being a place people would hide drugs so she only put books and then they started burning the books so she gave up.
@@Kriseaf isn't it. I mean I can't blame the homeless, if I were in that situation I'd do the same thing but I also don't fault my neighbor for taking it down. She spent a lot of time and money to stock it for kids and they weren't benefitting from it. All around just a sucky situation.
I love this idea, for a new place to unhaul books! We have these in my area of the UK, people have started converting the old red phone booths into mini libraries.
I love those little free libraries too! We have them in The Netherlands as well, but as far as I know they are not listed anywhere. You just have to stumble upon them. I know of a few in my neighborhood and I always bring the books I want to unhaul there. I have actually a stack here now that still has to go ;-) haha, I loved the starbucks bit 😂
well, there are not that very common in my country, but nowadays we have bookhive (some kind of free library) at least in my current city---Jakarta (also in Bali and Surabaya), where we can borrow the books from there and put some books over there.
I just recently downloaded the app, didnt realize how many LFL's there are in my area. Do i 'borrow' them for a certain amount of time then return? Or can i keep them for a while? I guess with the Library in the name, throws me off a bit. lol How does it all work?
@ryan613 that's amazing! My area has none of those unfortunately, they're not as common in the North, but I'd love to find some of those in the country!
i only know of one little free library in my country, a very cute old phone booth in Sigtuna (with exclusively old lady romance and non-fiction lol). also WHERE did you get the "raise hell, read books" hat??

The hard cut from "I don't need Starbucks" to you ordering Starbucks was just... incredible storytelling. No notes.
For real! That was A+ content
I laughed so hard! Amazing 😂
had me wheezing 🤣
the snort that came out of me when Riley ended up at Starbucks😭
I'd love to see the faces of the people that will come after you and see all those amazing books!
We are catching up on our bookish comment tonight... Your videos are soo soothing 😅🤗 Happy Wednesday Friends

Same, in France they’re just repurposed phone booths

In the Netherlands, they are also not that special :(
omg you know what you should do? you should do a video reading only books that you got from little free libraries!! i think that'll be a fun one to watch and do?
The lack of procrastination is shocking! The fact that you are doing all this prep months before you move is 😘👌

It would be so fun to do a little free library reading vlog where you just read books that you find from them!!
That's so interesting that your LFLs are very children's-oriented, the ones in my neighborhood have a whole lot more adult/older YA books.
The ones in my neighborhood are mostly religious pamphlets and like, instructions on how to put together a trombone (actual example).
I think that she lives in Texas - a lot of families have been moving there from more expensive states as I understand.
This is great that you helped stock the Little Free Libraries. It's expensive for the people that have them/maintain them (a lot of people don't leave a book). Thanks for doing it and encouraging others to do the same!
This was so cute! I love seeing all of the different little free libraries out there!

That's heartbreaking on so many levels. :(

I love Free Little libraries. I go thru books really quick so I am always donating books.
I love this idea, for a new place to unhaul books! We have these in my area of the UK, people have started converting the old red phone booths into mini libraries.
We have them in our city. I just put 3 in one. Next street. Then I put my homemade bookmark in them.
We have a few in Vienna, Austria, but they're called Bücherschränke... book closets.
We don’t have those cute little libraries in Spain but I wish we had, they look so cool 😌
Loved the video! Can’t wait for the closet one 😉
If you build one more will come.
The little libraries in my area are all like… chicken noodle soup books, cook books and self help books 😢

Lol the Starbucks
We’ve got heaps of little free libraries in Australia, but I don’t think I’ve ever taken any books home with me lol
I love the idea of the free little libraries but there is only tiny one in my whole town
I love little free libraries, there's only one near me though and it's not even on the site
I just recently downloaded the app, didnt realize how many LFL's there are in my area. Do i 'borrow' them for a certain amount of time then return? Or can i keep them for a while? I guess with the Library in the name, throws me off a bit. lol
How does it all work?
I don’t need a Starbucks but I am going to get one anyway is my mentality too
One always needs starbucks lol

What about The Book of The Month unhaul?
that one is going to be next! It was supposed to be episode 3 but it was taking me longer to edit so it's coming soon!
