I think "pray that the heart of stone remembers tears, and the soul of fire love" also refers to Rand's meeting with Tam in the Stone of Tear, and when he remembers love on top of Dragonmount. I also think that "He shall hold a blade of light in his hands and the three shall be one" refers to Dragonmount, and also both refers to how Lews Therin, Cuendillar Rand, and Farmboy Rand become one, and also how Elayne, Aviendha, and Min all symbolize Ilyena in his mind.
The three should be as one refers to the sealing of the dark ones prison permanently using Saidin, Saidar and the True Power. The three wielded by one person to create the seal the bore. Rand references the prophecy as giving him a "hint" of how to defeat the dark one.
I know this is an old video but I am going over a lot of old content at the minute in anticipation for season 2 of the show. I love the line “and he will heal the wounds of madness” as I feel there is a couple of meanings of this. I started reading wheel of time before Robert Jordan passed away I was on book 10 when he passed away so I put the series down and I recently picked it up again and I am again now on book 11 and am enjoying it immensely again
There’s a lot of lines to read multiple ways, like “reaching out to catch the shadow” could be read as capturing and imprisoning the shadow in the final encounter OR catch as in take in the negative aspects of the shadow ie darth Rand and the DO campaign to end the light by turning the Dragon by having him destroy the pattern at veins of gold
"The seas rage and storm clouds gather unseen" refers to how the Dark One touching the world causes the unnatural heat and drought, although the normal weather that should have been occurring could still be sensed by Nynaeve.
siggsiggdarius I interpreted this as rands epiphany at dragon mount. He holds a beam of light after dispelling the clouds and the three (steel Rand, boy Rand, and Lews Therin) become one (zen Rand).
Here's a question: are all 3 ta'veren bound to the Wheel? It's clear that Rand's soul is, and Perrin and Mat have done more than enough to make themselves a Hero of the Horn, if they weren't before. I know that the Heroes say that Mat actually isn't but they could've been saying that to make him feel better about having to be reborn over and over. Plus, Perrin and Mat being ridiculously strong ta'veren and their inclusion in the Karaethon Cycle lead me to believe all 3 boys are bound to the Wheel.
SUPER SPOILER: One of the heroes of the horn tell Mat that he is not bound to the Horn at the tail end of the last battle. Unless they lied, he is not. No official word in the books on Perrin.
Personally, I believe they are tied to the Wheel, but Mat may not be tied to the horn as well. They state that Heros that are tied to the horn wont come if they are currently reborn in the world, so Perrin may be tied to it too. Mat just likes his freedom which is why I think you can choose to bind your soul to the horn if youre a big enough hero
I just have a theory in my head that mat is not hero of the horn but maybe he is reborn every last battle as the commander haha and he commands the heroes so hes not one of them/that he is Valere if Valere was a guy
I hope they do dramatic readings of the prophecy at the beginning and end of seasons like they have them at the beginning and endings of the books. I did not like the audio book readings of the prophecies. It was not dramatic enough. There needs to be more energy behind it.
Beyond the horizon, hidden fires swell, and serpents nestle in the bosom - always thought this was Semirage destabilizing the Seanchen and getting close to Tuon.
I hate to disagree so often, especially cuz this video is so exciting and awesome. That’s why these books are so great. Except! “Power of the Shadow make human flesh” has to be Shaidar Haran. The reflections don’t make enough strife/ruin to warrant highlight in prophesy IMO, and the bubbles of evil aren’t shadow made Flesh really...I’d consider Ishamael here too though, over 3000 years certainly made considerable ruin
I also thought that this referred to Shaidar Haran. Doesn't make sense to me that there would be prophecies about specific bubbles of evil when those apparently occurred everywhere, to everyone. The books even have reports from others about ones that happen "off-screen." And, the ones allegedly mentioned in prophecy aren't the only ones that happened to any of the Three Ta'veren, so why here? Doesn't really work for me as an interpretation, but Shadar Haran sure does.
I haven't been receiving notice that I am aware of when you post a new video, but I just come here almost every day so... I guess it doesn't matter. I did click the bell icon.
I agree with your analysis. I also thought there were other elements to the Prophecies. The Prophecies foretell that salvation for the world would not be pleasant, and victory is not guaranteed.
These prophecies are the best in fantasy imo and enrich the WoT concept/story to iconic status. In VoG the light LITERALLY does save the world from Rand and Rand LITERALLY puts his hand on the shadow in aMoL. Only just realized this thanks to your video👍 Edit. Marked with one dragon for remembrance lost. Something all clan chiefs get. Marked twice to name him truly as Chief of Chief's. Dread fires= balefire? It plays a significant role in tFoH For the land is one with the dragon reborn- love that shout out to Arthurian legend Always thought winters heart referred to the Dark One? Overall good breakdown. I've really enjoyed looking at these again. Thank you
Oh man i remember seeing this video before I had read the books and having to get out at the spoiler warning, so glad to finally watch it, after reading the books, twice…
When the Wolf King carries the hammer, thus are the final days known - happens when the he forges the power wrought hammer - there is a noticeable shift in the narrative at this point. It's Tar'mon Gai'don from this point on, no more the story now shifts to everyone confronting, directly preparing for it, rather than it being near - it has now come. Sadly I didn't get every reference in the prophecy, but I will comment that Jordan does a very good job in showing how prophecy can be perfectly true once it happens, but easily mis-understood or mislead when trying to figure it out before. When the events prophesied happen, it's fairly clear this is them, but I love how he also shows some people greatly bending the prophecies to fit them - some of the false dragons do this.
Just finished the books, had 8 months furloughed from work, absolutely adore them, favourite character is mat obviously, least favourite is elyane, I’m loving your videos mate
One thought that I had on the three became one was that it would take Rand, Mat and Perrin working together to win the last battle. All three had to go through all the trials they did to be able to complete their part. Mat had to be cured of the taint of the dagger in order to kill Fain and Perrin needed his love for Faile to be able to defeat Lanfare’s compulsion and save Rand from her. Another thought is that nyneave and Moiraine had to get control of Moridin in order for Rand to seal the bore. Logain ‘s future glory to me was breaking the seals.
On Logain that's possible but i still think it referred to him turning away from the object of power in order to save the children. He knew he would lose his chance at sarken (sp) by doing this. And after being helpless so many times, 1st gentled, held captive when restored, then put thru torture during turning attempts, he felt more power was what he needed. That was my take.
Great video, I have been reading through the series again, and I had a question. What in the name of all that is unholy was Elida while she was in charge? I get the black ajah influence and everything but was the rest just straight delusional or what. I mean no decisions she made were good at all she even had Egwene make a fool of her. Further it will be roughly eternity before a red is allowed to lead the white tower girl scout troop.
Jon New While she is definitely just not that capable, while believing herself to be the only one able to handle any situation, one thing that escaped my notice on my first read through was Fain. He was advising Elida at the start of her tenure as Amyrlin, and mentiones in a PoV in LoC that he left his seed of distrust and paranoia in The White tower.
The foretellings are collected from before during and after the war of power IRC. It's a cycle of seven ages. A dragon always appears in the 2nd and the dragon reborn in the 3rd but there has been multiple 2nd and 3rd ages. So its the same soul being reincarnated repeatedly from what I gather but the ages 4567 and 1 effectively eradicate any knowledge of dragons by the return to the 2nd age. This effectively makes LTT the original dragon, and his next iteration the dragon reborn. It could be that Rand is unique as far as dragon reborns go. He actually has his past life trapped in his head and of course the prophecy. It's speculation on my part but I'm not sure these occur in every dragon reborn. Could be wrong though as there is 15 books of info to try to keep straight.
@@fenixchief7 cant remember where but there is evidence that the wheel can "accidentally" spin out heroes so the dragon can be in the world without a need to fight the dark one
@@Andrew-tz2wv that sounds about right. I imagine that Lews therin or some rendition of the dragon would be present if the horn of valere was sounded at a time he was still held in telanrhiod as well. Makes sense he could be spun out in another age. He'd never be known as the dragon though as that title is used specifically for the champion of the light against the dark one.
I think it was both. I vaguely remember a king who was excommunicated by an angry pope turning up where the pope was staying in sackcloth on his knees, begging forgiveness. Whoever was hosting the pope was basically like, "You counted on him be too proud for this, but here he is." Some time in the dark ages I think, but it's been years.

It's a compilation of Foretellings from multiple channelers before, during and after the war of power. Can't recall if that's from a book, the companion or if RJ said it in an interview.

I think all of theese prophecies ara self-fulfilling prophecies. Oracles were just seeing possibilities of future thought the pattern. That's why even shadow has it's own prophecies and Sharan's have very different prohecies that didn't become reality. Everyone headed their own prophecies because prophecies told them to do. A lot of the Cycle is fulfilled by others. Healing the madness was actually done by Nynaeve. Also, remember he doesn't die. Well his body does but it is Moridin who dies in his body.
Technically Rand and Nynaeve cleanse saidin. These prophecies were foretellings. They can only tell what they see and they saw his body die. You could view it as cheating prophecy but even those with that talent are not omniscient. Sometimes they interpret wrongly as we know elaida did.
@@christopherrousseau1173 yeah and his "blood on the rocks" is called a sacrifice in the next line of the cycle. That means death in flowery prophet speak.
I think this was a little misleading. I wanted to know about a number of other prophecies mention Elaida's foretelling about the broken tower being remade whole. Did you ever finish the series?
There’s a lot of lines to read multiple ways, like “reaching out to catch the shadow” could be read as capturing and imprisoning the shadow in the final encounter OR catch as in take in the negative aspects of the shadow ie darth Rand and the DO campaign to end the light by turning the Dragon by having him destroy the pattern at veins of gold
I think that that line prophesises him losing his hand to an attack from Semirraghe(sorry for the bad spelling, don't feel like looking it up)
It could also be an early reference to him channeling the true power
How am I just now finding this channel? WHERE HAVE I BEEN!?
Well I’m glad you’ve found it now! Haha
"The seas rage and storm clouds gather unseen" refers to how the Dark One touching the world causes the unnatural heat and drought, although the normal weather that should have been occurring could still be sensed by Nynaeve.
Finally! This is the video I have been waiting for!
MK Genest are you the MK he referenced in the end of the video??
@@rschmitz40 Yes that would be me. =)
The three shall be one; when rand fights the dark one and combine saidin, saidar and the true power to make a perfect seal
siggsiggdarius I interpreted this as rands epiphany at dragon mount. He holds a beam of light after dispelling the clouds and the three (steel Rand, boy Rand, and Lews Therin) become one (zen Rand).
You should do a video discussing the Prophecies of the Shadow!
The competition is amazing. I love both of yours and Daniel's channel and he's probably home be super tough to beat.
SUPER SPOILER:
One of the heroes of the horn tell Mat that he is not bound to the Horn at the tail end of the last battle.
Mat just likes his freedom which is why I think you can choose to bind your soul to the horn if youre a big enough hero
i think they are just bound to the wheel to be spun out as needed but not to the horn to be called back from the grave whenever it is blown
5 ride, fourth and 4 return could also be used with the main characters that left the 2 rivers. 3 men and 2 women. (Emonds fielders)
Video was good man. I love the prophecies and seeing how they were fulfilled in the books. Keep up the good work
I haven't been receiving notice that I am aware of when you post a new video, but I just come here almost every day so... I guess it doesn't matter. I did click the bell icon.
Do you have notifications turned on for your phone for TH-cam?
I agree with your analysis. I also thought there were other elements to the Prophecies. The Prophecies foretell that salvation for the world would not be pleasant, and victory is not guaranteed.
That’s a rad contest idea!!
Please make that a video after it’s all said and done...guess I could try and win then you have to make it video right?
These prophecies are the best in fantasy imo and enrich the WoT concept/story to iconic status.
In VoG the light LITERALLY does save the world from Rand and Rand LITERALLY puts his hand on the shadow in aMoL. Only just realized this thanks to your video👍
Edit. Marked with one dragon for remembrance lost. Something all clan chiefs get. Marked twice to name him truly as Chief of Chief's.
Dread fires= balefire? It plays a significant role in tFoH
For the land is one with the dragon reborn- love that shout out to Arthurian legend
Always thought winters heart referred to the Dark One?
Finally a man of culture
We enjoy your gift 🎁 of knowledge, content sharing. Thanks 🙏
Great work. Thank you for this video🙏
It's good to know what has to come and be done thank you
One thought that I had on the three became one was that it would take Rand, Mat and Perrin working together to win the last battle.
@marius. That explains a lot. Always felt that her lunacy was plot contrivance and out of character for her. Fain's hand in it makes a lot of sense!
Well done!
Three shall be one is saidin, saidar, and the True Power...all wielded by Rand at the end to repair the bore.
Before the War of Power? Wouldn't that be a bit ackward for LTT? Also, given that Rand al'Thor was called LTT reborn, what reborn was LTT called?
Fun prophecy. Good video
Your whiteboard got you a sub from me. I had to pause less than 5 seconds in to laugh at it.
I always thought the kine "...he who thinks he turns the wheel learns to late..." referred to the Dark One.
I had forgotten how many prophecies there are in WoT!! Thanks!!
More like how much WoT there is in those prophecies,
These signs in the background are hilarious
That was fairly solid
Sackcloth and ashes are signs of mourning, not atonement.
I think so, in our world, you are right. But is it the same in their age?
Hey new sub to your channel. I really like what you’re doing and I love your content. I have a question though. Do you know of any channels or any resources where one can play dungeons and dragons but in the world of the wheel of time. That is been my dream for a long time it would be amazing any help you could give would be great.
Do the dark prophecy.
It's nice to see a breakdown of this. We kinda have to piece it together while we read. You got it spot on tho. I think the crown of swords part was a reference to him becoming king of illian. Great video!
I very strongly feel that the reference to the White Tower being broken and the forgotten sign is a reference to the Seanchan raid on the Tower and the breaking of the Tower.
Absolutely love your content! Super hoping you make a video about the snakes and the foxes!
Sir you did a fine job...now I must go and as he said many times.."RAFO"
Hi have come to come after Inky or should I say Lucifer and the raven he is hidden before your eyes Solomon in Egypt, the son of David and the queen of Sheba
What are your thoughts on the "3 become one?" We know Rand and Lews Therin, but I don't remember the 3rd ever being named, though the 2 do mention him.
The three becoming one is tied to Rand using Sadism Sadiar and the true power in binding the Dark One
Maybe it's talking about Saidin, Saidar and True power in the final battle as he was using Callandor, becoming one.
Moridin? They bond when they cross balefires.
I always thought that the slaying with the leaf is a reference to the dragon peace
It is. The broken tower line is also of that. Both involved Moiraine at Merrilor.
Is it the broken tower shall bend knee thing that's the aiesadi surving rand tho
At any point in the books is mentioned who wrote that prophecy?
It's a compilation of Foretellings from multiple channelers before, during and after the war of power. Can't recall if that's from a book, the companion or if RJ said it in an interview.
@@fenixchief7 However it says that many of the prophecies are written in the forth age and by an unknown author. I like to fantasize the rand himself or maybe other involved in the last battle wrote them knowing that when the wheel turned that the would become forgotten and the writing nothing but prophecy.
@@kayleaherndon2449 I suppose that's part of the cyclical nature of time. It gets pretty confusing. I'd like to think the author was loial.
Pretty good, you could have broke them down a bit more but that would take a lot of time.
CERN black magic the change the dimensions, dark matter is different than you perceive just like Vader
I wish your whiteboard was correct... "break the world of wokeness" wot immediately proved woke when a remote mountain village, isolated for generations was more diverse than anywhere irl. The real story is full of diversity, but Hollywood couldn't wait for it to unfold naturally... On top of Inexplicably altering plotpoints.
Mental note: if I ever get inspired to write a prophesy, I should use proper names instead of pronouns. Even if they are hard to spell.
Just here for the white board.
YES RED SPOILERS
Keep it up brah!
Gitaro maroso's for telling a are important
I have read the series and have it on audible. I have read it and listened to it many times. It is my favorite series ever
Not technically part of the karaethon cycle but yes you're spot on.
They choose one of the possibilities and made them real.
And because the pattern is beyond imagination, oracles couldn't explain what they saw clearly. That's why the prophecies are so fuzzy.
Herid Fel said it.
LOL, dat whiteboard

But Tigraine was married!
Yeah but she left that bum. She was married to the spear when rand was born.
@@fenixchief7 Still feel like it counts. There was never really a divorce.
@@ericmiller2608 I suppose in aiel culture, wedding the spear would be the divorce. Or perhaps the person foretelling didnt know she had been married just that the mother was a maiden of the spear.
The fox stealing the moons out of the sky seems to hint towards mats abduction of Tuon rather than his marriage to her.
It's clearly everything is from the bible just everything is twisted.... Things are taken from Daniels book, revelations, Jeremias..And a lot more.... I have never heard something so upside down 🤔
In my opinion, you got the Jahar Narishma wrong. I always thought it meant Moridin at the last battle. When Moridin take Callandor
"He shall stretch forth his hand to catch the Shadow, and the world shall scream in the pain of salvation." Definitely him losing his hand to Semirage
I think that part refers to when Rand takes the Dark One in his hand and at that moment decides not to kill him, as it would mean the destruction of the human mind
I missed 60% of what it meant. Needs high IQ to figure these poetic 🤔sentences, phrases to truly enjoy the books 📚 WOW 😮 interesting and entertaining.
Luckily for moi, I had already joined the Facebook group. Now I just have to write an essay.
Spence,. The prophecy doesn't say he would die. It only says his blood on the rocks of shayul Gul.
@@christopherrousseau1173 yeah and his "blood on the rocks" is called a sacrifice in the next line of the cycle. That means death in flowery prophet speak.
This video needs a proper remake, and a more in depth analysis. Honestly, this was disappointingly sloppy and less detailed than it should have been.
Sounds like you should get on it.
I think this was a little misleading. I wanted to know about a number of other prophecies mention Elaida's foretelling about the broken tower being remade whole. I often thought that was a reference to the original breaking of the tower I E the age of Legends with the Servants of all and the split between men and women. As much as I enjoyed Robert Jordan series I had huge problems with the last two or maybe three books because of the dangling plot threads that never got resolved. For instance the broken Tower olver, Gaidal Kain, which was a terrible red herring there were a number of other loose plot threads and prophecies that were never fully explained I just can't remember them all
Misleading? It's the prophecies of the dragon, not every single foretelling and loose plot point explained. This would be a 2 hour video lol.
@@fenixchief7 Well it said prophecies of the dragon. The breaking of the tower is technically part of that. And no I don't want a 2 hr video but hearing the karhiean cycle (sorry for the misspelling) brought back some irritation I felt over dangling plot threads like the breaking of the tower, and what it meant when it would be whole in addition to the whole black tower thing
@@williamjones3534 fair enough. I always took the broken tower part to refer to the schism within the aes sedai that happens in the books. The white tower was not constructed until after the breaking of the world.
Hopefully he has videos planned for some of the more vague parts, other foretellings, prophecies (rhuidean and the Seanchan prophecy) and those dangling threads.
@@fenixchief7 Or, does that second prophecy of the "broken tower" indicate the Black Tower after the battle begins?? We know the first mention of a broken tower is the White Tower. It has to deal with Taim and his activities, I think.
@@shauntempley9757 would the black tower ever be referred to as "unstained?" Its also the white tower aes sedai that "bends knee" to rand after Dumai's wells.
Nae,blis - it upsets me when good people get thungs wrong so often so - i submit
He who comes with the dawn is not the return from Rhuidean - but refers to Gitara’s foretelling
it refer to his birth - ffs has no other clan chief returned at dawn in 3000 years - the aiel are wrong - i love it
“Tamra was standing at the windows, peering out at a sky that was growing brighter by the moment. She continued to stare out after Siuan had curtsied and proffered her cup, then finally turned and saw Moiraine. Instead of taking the tea, she said, “What news, Moiraine? You know better than to delay.” ”
“He is born again!” Gitara cried. “I feel him! The Dragon takes his first breath on the slope of Dragonmount! He is coming! He is coming! Light help us! Light help the world! He lies in the snow and cries like the thunder! He burns like the sun!”
