Fantastic channel. I'm an absolute car buff. Used to have a engine machine shop until disability force me into early retirement. Now I take care of one of my mother who is dealing with kidney failure. The reason I mentioned these personal details is watching your channel, checking out the things you were working on, your work ethics and Crystal Clear communication, they are an absolute joy and provide me with really moments of Escape. Just a great mental and emotional break. I'm sure many feel how I do. Thanks again, I'm a new subscriber and I will be following along. Most importantly, the holidays are here and 2023 is fast approaching. For you, your family, friends in your orbit and all of your subscribers, we wish you health and wellness. Stay safe everybody and remember it takes a village.

My wife says to get different music!!... I had to mute during those portions.
I have similar.. A TT Z06 and a 1300whp 3.8L Whipple powered E55. My next build is going to be a 68/69 LS swapped Chevelle.

I hope new engine has the cylinder head upgraded or if not just pop on some ported ls3 heads since we know ls7 were notorious for cylinder head failure due to valve guides and other parts of the valve train.
Im glad yours have been upgraded

Thank you for the great content! I'm new to working on cars and I broke my Trailblazer SS LS2 but wasn't sure what happened. As soon as you pulled the intake off the LS7 and looked inside at the carnage I took off my cold air intake tube off and looked through the throttle body and found my carnage. Now to build my first, hopefully my block survived.

Good deal on that engine, especially given the mods! Are you interested in taking on another 2008 C6Z? I'd like to do H/C/MSD intake on mine as well... I checked RPM, but they're booked forever and are pretty expensive! LMK!

Nice progress. I gotta ask though, is there a reason why you didnt replace the harmonic crank pulley damper while the engine was out? The factory LS motors are notorious for subpar harmonic balancers that start to delaminate and can "wobble" or the inner and out part separates and doesn't spin the accessories. You could have used the ATI damper from the old LS7 the car came with?

I'm following all this with bated breath. I get to see how my Z06 was built. And what everything looks like. And what happens with the valve stem guide ID issue. Thankfully, mine has nearly 120Kmi on it now with zero issues & nearly no oil use between changes. Hoping I can get the full life from this engine. I understand the best constant 'track' engine is the LS3 GS. The LS7 seems to be much more of a high performance 'road' engine for occasional track use only. I guess it wasn't designed for a lot of competition track use.

Subscribed !!! Bonjour from the Riviera (I'm a Texan though) and have to say WOW what a steal on the replacement LS7 ... the heads paid for the long block IMHO. Can't wait to see the Dyno results. I have an '07 Z06 ($150k new over here due to Taxes/Duty ... all "American Cars" are double the cost in EU) and have to agree with whomever commented the previous owner probably over rev'd her (easy to see if the limiter was disconnected for Track) ... most of the 06-07's were unaffected by the shitty value guide mis-machining issue ... like mine. Whew !!! Good to know on the Clutch/Rock Auto ... not that I need or want on but good info none the less.

Hello, i just bought a pretty neglected 2006 Corvette C6 and this channel helped me to gain more confidence for the engine rebuild. Although I have a question - that LS7 clutch you just installed looks like a self adjusting clutch. Shouldn't you use one of these special SAC tools for the install?
