He who does not take the step of faith and enter upon the road to heaven will perish. It will be an awful thing to die close to, but yet outside the gate of life. Almost saved, but altogether lost! This is the most terrible of positions. A man just outside Noah’s ark would have drowned; a murderer close to the wall of the city of refuge, but outside of it, would be slain; and the man who is within a yard of Christ but has not trusted him will be lost.
Therefore, I am in terrible earnest to get my hesitating friends over the threshold. Come in! Come in! is my pressing plea. Why dost thou stand outside? is my solemn inquiry (Genesis 24:31). May the Holy Spirit render my pleadings effective with many who read these pages! May he cause his own almighty power to create faith in the soul at once.
My reader, if God blesses this book to you, do the writer this favor - either lend your own copy to someone who is lingering at the gate or buy another and give it away, for his great desire is that this little volume should be of service to many thousands of souls.
To God this book is commended, for without his grace nothing will come of all that is written.

~ About the Author ~
Charles Haddon (C. H.) Spurgeon (1834-1892) was a British Baptist preacher. He started preaching at age 17 and quickly became famous. He is still known as the “Prince of Preachers” and frequently had more than 10,000 people present to hear him preach at the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London. His sermons were printed in newspapers, translated into many languages, and published in many books.

When I was 18, I begged Jesus to come into my life and he did, and I had a feeling of serenity for about three hours, but I considered that my born again moment. I have been Christian ever since, with a long prodigal son detour!

But I would say that if the Living Christ stood before you here on earth... don't just stand there singing Glory, Glory Hallelujah...but rather... Walk INTO the Living Christ, that you may have Life!

@@ShamasAli-ff5yzif you were truly saved, you cannot be saved again. You have to believe Jesus died on the cross and shed His precious blood as atonement for your sins, was buried and rose from the dead and sits on the right side of God as our intercessor. You cannot crucify Jesus for remission of your sins more than once. You can renew your faith right this minute though and DECIDE to follow Jesus and REPENT of your old ways (sins). It helps a lot to find a good Bible believing church and congregate with other Christians. You must decide to do what Jesus commanded us to do, all day, every day. We all fall short and not one of us is righteous enough to deserve God's kingdom, but by His grace He forgives, guides and comforts us on our narrow path. Don't let the enemy make you doubt your salvation. Carry on a conversation with your heavenly Father in your head and heart, and on your knees. Ask Him questions and listen for the answers. He answers through His Word written in the Holy Bible. I prefer the King James Version personally. We are all babies in Christ when we are first born followers. Babies need basics (milk) first to build a strong foundation in knowledge of the Lord, then you are ready to grow up, take meat (mature). Don't try to take it all in at once. A church usually has a Bible study class that would be very helpful to find your way and you won't be alone. It may sound weird, but I believe there's safety in numbers while battling the enemy. There's an acronym for the word Bible: Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. God bless you in your journey, God's got your back if you let him.
