Great ideas! Our chicks are 7? weeks now, and we are now having to clean the bedding every day, and adding feed at least once a day. I actually cut myself on our metal feeder, so I agree the plastic is probably better. We started with wood chips and it was so dusty I switched over to paper shavings and love it. The chicks seem to like them too, and it was really affordable compared to hemp.
@@PloughmansBackyard They don't help a lot with smell, but they absorb really well and are cozy warm and soft, they really seem to like them and I like not having the dust.
