He was actor, director....he was portraying a man much older, a hardened swordsman, archer, horseman. Brilliant.
ISHIDO SAMA!! why are you talking to a barbarian!
😂😅
😂
Masuru
More like why is he talking like one?!
These Japanese actors were incredible in Shogun. So much respect for their acting!
He does great as a villain
not a villain per se... maybe he will be one in that last 2 episodes
HAYAAA YAYAYHAHAYAYAAAAAAAAAAA
the real counterpart ishida mitsunari and the television series ishido are not really villians. They knew tokugawas threat and he would one day usurp the throne. Tokuwagawa ieyasu (Toranaga) was a patient man and he let ishida play the first move. Its just court politics.
That guy is amazing playing villian.
My goodness…what an actor. The contrast in how he made me feel about his character between shōgun and monarch is like whiplash!🔥🔥
Biggest challenge with making any TV show is having to answer the same inane questions, hundreds of times and pretend to not be bored
It's great seeing Scott so enthusiastic about an upcoming show.
He did a great performance of Ishiro..
Wow I forgot he also worked with Anna in Giri/Haji! He was amazing in that show.
I really wanted season 2 of GIRI/RAJI. He was absolutely amazing and I loved the story.
Same! He was so amazing in it.
Great Actor! He did amazing!
This is a MAGNIFICENT SERIES!!! WOW❤💪🏾
Whenever an actor makes me actually hate them as the villain, i immediately give them the "brilliant" tag
he kinda looks abit like Ken Watanabe, especially in Giri/Haji series… i though it was Ken at first… but damn..he is cool..
Ishida Mitsunari (Ishido) is a tragic samurai who inherited the will of Prince Taiko but lost to Ieyasu (Toranaga). In Japan, there are many people who think that Ieyasu is the bad guy and Ishida Mitsunari is the righteous one.
He’s in the film SEKIGAHARA, which is about the same thing haha.
Excellent actor!
Best actor in Shogun
Both Hira and Anna Sawei also played together in Giri/Haiji series.
Omfg???!!!!!! Wow 🤯
He went to Brown University Wow
I didn't know he speak english!
He did in Monarch.
He graduated from Brown University.
Well he used to live in United States
I have nothing against Scott. However I have seen several of his interviews and it is patently obvious that he does no background, due diligence or research on any of his subjects prior to interviewing them. He just asks the most rote overused hackneyed questions such as “how did you feel about this” or “what was the hardest part” or “what was it like to work with….” instead of asking anything remotely insightful or thoughtful.
Compare Scott to the hot chicken wings guy who does meticulous background on his subjects. This doesn’t have to be 60 Minutes but Scott is a lazy apathetic dull interviewer.
The difference is that Sean Evans and others are doing long form 1-on-1 interviews where they have time to prep the questions for that specific person. This is from the premiere event / cast promo where you interview multiple people from the cast. You have to throw low ball / generic questions in situations like this because you only have like 2 minutes with each cast member and they'll move on to the next interviewer. Also throwing in more in-depth questions would just get you answers like "Hmmm, oooh that's a really good question... I have to think about that one" because it's such an ADHD environment.
it was shot before Monarch??!
Yes. They worked hard on Shogun. That's why it looks so good. They trained and did research on the history for that period. They had to do a lot of things.
Oh lord he is speaking barbarian language! Hahaha
I wish I could speak English🥺oh wait I'm texting in Engrish.
Horrible interviewer. He sounds like he's just there to list a bunch of questions instead of having a conversation
