  • From a 2018 Foundation Course held in West Covina, CA - attending are officers from WCPD and CHP...
Day Four...discussing reactive/defensive factors that apply to one of the five 'support skills' from the foundation model - Covering.
Note...yes...lots of talking...it's one of those points in the 32-hour coursework where elements that will be heavily drilled later are verbally explained first - this isn't a 'look at me...copy me' type of course...the focus is on understanding the 'why' as well as the 'what' and 'how' which gives a completely different depth of knowledge.

Good philosophy, that's why boxing and sparring are a must to build up reflexes and get used to punches being thrown at you so it becomes automatic to counter.

Good explanation of the OODA loop and making real estimate about what moves can work in time. Well said.

Seemed less about the situational decision-making process and more of a tactical rumination on the physiological limitations posed by time-compression.

I am very happy to see you uploading content again Sir! I really consider your approach absolutely serious, realistic and zero bullshit. I wanted to ask you if you consider some stand up greco-roman wrestling style techniques efficient for self defense?? I saw in another video of yours that you are not a fan of clinching when in close range. why is that? Thank you for your work! Respect!

And of course, punches are fire and forget.
By the time the kinetic chain has been set in motion to send his hand to your face, he's already planning the next one.
