Hi Taylor,
I have actually been a huge advocate of animal shelters and the wonderful people and animals for around 4 years. Right now I am in a limbo and haven't had a chance to get back into volunteering since graduating college. One thing I want people to know is that working in a shelter you will experience the worst and best days of your life, but one thing is guaranteed, those dogs are living a better life than before and they are grateful. At the shelter I was at in college we had a dog come in that screamed when you would get close to her. You wouldn't even touch her and she sounded like she was in so much pain. The managers and more experienced volunteers worked with her for a few weeks and by the time she was adopted she thought she was a lap dog and would play with you. She obviously came from such a bad place with abuse, fearing for her life, and now she is living a wonderful life with her new family that loves her unconditionally.

This is so heartbreaking that these poor babies were treated so badly. I honestly don’t know how someone could look into a dogs eyes and hurt them. Bless your hearts for helping them!
Seems to be quite easy for people who's religion tells them that dogs are demons and commands them to kill dogs, particularly the black ones. :(

phangirlable Well it's not always religious.. but for food. I adopted a black puppy from a dog meat farm in Korea. Really horrible stuff is done to these dogs.. but I still have a hard time judging because in North America our cows and chickens and other 'meat sources' are treated the same as dogs in asia.
China still allows people to kill dogs for meat. South Korea has just made it illegal to kill dogs for food. If you care about animals sign petitions, spread awareness...there's a lot of work we still need to do to help animals in our world.
I really missed these casual, personal vlogs where you just talk about your everydays and cook with us and stuff. ❤️
But I get it that it's difficult to make daily vlogs with all the other stuff going on.

As someone who works with rescue dogs and organaitions like this one. It really means the world when someone with a big platform shares the stories and struggles. As much as we are capable of horrible things, humans are also capable of wonderful things and can make a difference to the lives of those who need help if we only reach out and ask. I’m crying and I’m so touched by this and now I’m gonna volunteer at a dog shelter here in the US I’ve always loved dogs and recently lost my dog so taking care of dogs that don’t have homes and making them feel loved is something I would love to do, thank you Taylor for sharing this with all of us❤️

That's so nice. My BFF brought a street dog back from India and a few years prior her mother adapted a dog from Bulgaria. He was a senior dog and was able to live his last few years in the USA. They know when people are caring for them.

I just sent 300HKD to their paypal, I am not sure how much this is worth in Hong Kong or whether it will help at all, but it's the most I can give! I cried watching those dogs; having a dog of my own I know how much pain they must be going through, volunteers included. If I was living in Hong Kong or China I would volunteer frequently, and adopt as many dogs as I could, but sadly I'm all the way here in Australia. I won't forget this cause and I will donate whenever I have the means to. Would really love to see frequent updates about these dogs like you said. If I visit Hong Kong in the coming months then I will definitely give them a visit. Thank you Taylor! Give those puppies a hug from me!
I just made a post on my Instagram too, urging my followers to watch your video or help in whatever way they can! Opening a safe haven/shelter for abandoned/stray/mistreated dogs in China has been my goal for the past year or so, it makes me so happy to see a woman like Theresa working so hard toward such a worthy cause. Thank you so much for the video. I've helped out in multiple shelters here in france for many years now. walking dogs and helping design adoption posters as I graphic design is the least I can do for the dogs. It's so nice to see this side of Hong Kong with people that generally care about animals and are trying so hard to rescue them.

Someone may have said this- but if you make a donation through PayPal, consider selecting the option that you are sending to a friend. This way you pay a fee for the transfer (if applicable) and RCAP won’t have to 😊
This sounds like a great idea, but unfortunately I believe that is against the TOS and can get the Paypal account frozen. I just checked, and Paypal does say they charge their fees for donations. If someone knows more about legal speak or about Paypal and donations/non-profit causes, please chime in.

Be careful with this! I'm not sure how it works when you're a non-profit organization, but if a regular person or business receives too many gifts on Paypal their account gets locked down. Please please be careful with this. :(

I don't think I've cry this much in a blog ever... It really breaks my heart that actually people treat animals like that, but also it warms my heart that are people that does this type of work, like you said she is an actual angel. I've adopted 2 stray cats, one arrived at my house, almost dying, a few more hours and we wouldn't be able to safe him. He spent almost 2 months in the hospital, he has a back problem and has trouble walking but he is the happiest cat I've ever seen and he is so grateful and lovable, just by seeing him alive makes my heart so happy. I wish I could adopt a dog, I've been trying to convince my parents to do it but with 3 cats and practically no garden or extra space its hard. But there's always a way to help and Im so happy you use your platform to do this, with little acts of kindness we can really make some changes in the world :)

Here’s a volunteer story!
I used to volunteer at my local kennel before college started. Not gonna lie, it’s definitely tiring, but my heart has never been fuller being with amazing people and amazing dog friends.
When they come up to you after your shift to give you kisses, it feels like you’re the most important human in the world. When one of them finally gets adopted, it feels like the biggest achievement a human can make.
Nothing feels better when you take the dogs out for their daily walk and their tails wag so hard you think they’ll break, and then they turn back to you from time to time to give you a doggy smile. When a scared rescue transitions into the happiest silliest puppy, you’ll wish you volunteered sooner.
Do it for yourself and for these dog friends that deserve all the nice things in the world. ♥️ thank you for reading!

6 months ago I rescued a dog who had been chained up and abused for the first year of his life. He was left in a harness since he was a puppy and as he grew his harness grew into his skin. He still has his scars but despite all of this, he is the most loving and affectionate dog I’ve ever known.
He still is scared to be around men but is slowly building his confidence to his new world. When I’m home he will follow me around everywhere - he’s my shadow ☺️
I think it’s great to promote adopting a rescued dog- it gives a dog a chance at the life they deserve! And no dog will love and appreciate you more than a rescue (really!!). I love the idea of giving a dog a second chance at life rather than paying a breeder who is profiting from reproducing designer dogs.
THANK YOU TAYLOR for bringing awareness to these amazing people who run these shelters. There is so many of these all over the world that desperately need help.

I started crying so hard. I really love seeing you support an organization that really needs that help. Doing social media for them will make a huge difference. I swear if I would live in Hong Kong I would go there every day. I'm also not earning enough money yet to help that way. I'm thinking about adopting a dog for a while now. Loved the video Taylor. I went to Southern mainland China a few months ago and saw dogs roaming everywhere, all the time. Knowing what was eventually going to happen to them was heartbreaking... hearing about Teresa and this organization is absolutely fantastic❤️
the second half of the video was really touching, i couldn't stop crying. the founder of the dog rescue organisation is an angel and makes me again question my life. i also want to do something to help animals. every 3 months i donate money to animal rescue organisations. for me that still isn't enough. I want to do so much more and in the end know that what i did really helped them. i will donate money right away. thank you so much for sharing her story.

what made me really happy about the shelter was how the vole teens genuinely loved and looked after the dogs. If they were just angry or uncaring the dogs' lives would be so much worse, but it makes all the difference that the people taking care of them have genuine love and connection with them ♡♡♡
