I love your attention to even the small details. For example... I loved watching the silhouettes of the people on the chair lift when the camera was pointing at the window. Neat look. I didn’t know the Gatlinburg Inn had all that history. Very informative. Thanks for the review! I learned something new today!

I'm loving these hotel reviews! I really liked the historic charm of the Gatlinburg Inn. The older furniture gives it that historic feeling. It was clean and comfortable and that's all that matters. The history adds so much to the value of the hotel. Love the pool with the views, the location is great and the complimentary breakfast looked great. Thank you for your honest review. We look forward to staying there sometime. And how cool was that to get to tour the Rocky Top Room!

Definitely a place that I would stay. The convenience of being near the Parkway, easy parking are two big bonuses as far as I’m concerned. As long as the rooms are clean and functional is all I would need! I give the Gatlinburg Inn a BIG THUMBS UP! 👍

The older places have their charm. We never stayed there, but we did stay at Twin Islands before it made way for Margaritaville and Quality Inn Creekside. Both of them had "deep end" pools. The older places probably have deep water pools since they all used to have diving boards. Gatlinburg Inn probably did too. Diving boards at motels disappeared in the '80's when insurance on them skyrocketed. I have a really vague memory of walking off one at our motel down there in 1967 and my dad catching me when I hit the water.

Great review!! I remember the Gatlinburg Hotel when we came to Gatlinburg. I wanted to stay at it, but we had to stay at another hotel down the road. I think they were booked up for the dates we were coming to the area. My husband and I like staying at vintage hotels because of the history behind the hotel. I have the brochure of the hotel that was posted on the wall. I am definitely planning to look through our vacation books we kept of the places we stayed and have gone to over the years. This video brought back many memories of our time in Gatlinburg. Thanks for sharing!!

I still have my room booked there for November just in case they still have the CHILI COOKOFF. Love how it's in walking distance of so much. And the Pizza🍕looked great. Thanks for sharing. Gatlinburg Inn was wonderful. I knew it was built earlier, but 1937? The inn was kept up great. The room you had was good. The bathroom was a little bit small, but still you are able to get cleaned up well. The shower was great, too. The balcony was nice. The Rocky Top Room was awesome. To know that the song “Rocky Top” was written there is fantastic. The room was big, too. The pool was great. Every thing was great. Luigi’s Pizza was amazing. The antipasto salad was great and the pizza looked soooo good. Next morning, you had a continental breakfast. I thought a few eggs and maybe one sausage. Well the breakfast looked so great. Eggs, sausage, baked apples, tomatoes, all was great. What can I say except that Gatlinburg Inn is awesome and I would stay there for sure.

The first time we stayed at the Gatlinburg Inn will be 20 years this coming October, our oldest daughter turned 1 year old then. We actually stayed in a Suite. We stayed one night at a Holiday Inn SunSpree hotel and had to push a baby stroller up a steep hill to get to it from the strip.😒So we were able to get the last room available at the Gatlinburg Inn. Easy peasy to get to the strip! The Gatlinburg Inn is dated but so clean.

I haven't been able to get back to Gatlinburg in a while now due to just life but this place is where we would ALWAYS stay and I love it to this day. Sure its not modern but thats why I love it. We would stay the week of July 4th and you would see the same people every year. Got to be friends with a lot of great people that are no longer with us. Its funny to say that a hotel feels like home but this place really did. Its the last of the original hotels in Gatlinburg. Rest in peace Wilma Maples.

Fantastic video!!! I clearly remember seeing The Gatlinburg Inn when I was a child in the 70's on our yearly vacations. Great review guys. I've never stayed there. I usually stayed in the past at midtown Lodge. Which of course is no longer there. It was just down a few blocks from the Gatlinburg inn.I always thought about renting a room there. From the sky lift it has always looked clean and well-maintained. to me, it would be wonderful staying in the center of town like I used to at midtown lodge, is the convenience of being close to everything. Since I have issues with walking very far. I love history. And I don't mind an older hotel if it's clean and well-maintained.

Good video! I wanna stay there for sure. I guess you just have to appreciate nostalgia for this place. Probably would have passed before this video but my wife and I are both in now! Thank you!

Stayed there in 1983 for our Honeymoon. We were on the third floor I believe, just remember there was a rope ladder attached to the window in case of fire and a bear in the parking lot each morning!
