Exactly, *INTENTION* is everything. For example, simple defense. You can hit in so many ways. Forehand, backhand, clear, over the net, hairpin, etc I also love your example here 4:19 you come in to take the shot with the intention of hitting hard, and end up dropping the racket out of sight 😂 newbies think it's all about hitting the shuttle, hit fast and strong 😂 but the truth is, you have to observe the shuttle and wait until the right moment comes. You have a LOT of time before the shuttle comes, so just watch it fall down and think about what you can do
A big mistake newbies make is: they think the shuttle falls too fast, so they have to swing right away. They don't prepare the racket, they don't pull the racket behind, they just go forward instantly. Another common mistake is the gaze. They don't look at the racket. They don't look at where they're hitting. They don't watch the shuttlecock fall down, and instead just keep trying to hit it.
Oh yes I totally agree, as a player you have options when you hit …change your mind accordingly to situations.. u might come up with interesting plays… take your time don’t rush…. A lot of younger players who start to get good always rush… myself include a long time ago… It makes our game readable, predictable easily counter able especially vs higher level players… playing with higher level more experienced players will show you that controlling timing and pace allows for options in shots, savings in energy, provides opportunities to earn a point easily, tire n frustrate your opponents, control the game, better shot selection, better shot quality. Don’t you feel that it’s sometimes harder or impossible to win against a lucky opponent who has no actual strokes and shots that are not predictable…..😂 eg: an odd twist of elbow or hand and a frame shot which sends shuttle in a weird trajectory….. be that but do that while in control with proper stance and strokes….
You have a so beautiful philosophy. I agree with you, we think all time to hit fast and strong . For my part it's beacause i'm late i think and i have not the time to hit the shuttle correctly. I have this feeling to be everytime late, it's hard to change and play more relaxed. I like your lesson and education ! I watch every vidéo thanks to you. When will there be more dynamic training such as short short long or something else? Hello from the south of France, and all behind An Se-young ;)
I wanted to convey that reading the subtitles and understanding and imagining the learning is a bit too much, and also the korean language seems to be fast paced so the subtitles also change fast. At last I also watch anime in subtitles, but there I am not learning just enjoying it so it's pretty easy. Hope I made some sense. 🙂
That's a good opinion. TH-cam will soon launch a multilingual narration feature. Once that feature is released, we will also try using English narration. thanks.
Thank you so much coach, you most definitely have the best videos on youtube :) But I am a beginner/intermediate player and sometimes I get overwhelmed at the amount of information and videos on your channel, what are the things I should improve on first to have good fundamental badminton skills?

Plz add up an English audio with your videos, your videos are really informative. 😊
I think English subtitles do the job, no?🤔
