Berggren, kasper, Raymond line. Make it happen! Kasper inflicts havoc on the other team while Berggren is the play maker who helps Raymond score a bit more. We need to form a line designed to make Raymond the trigger man. Designing the line to make Berggren the playmaker and Raymond the shooter might help this Raymond scoring issue. Kasper can do a bit of everything hopefully as he gets more comfortable with the league.

I think it is worth exploring for Brad to re-examine his goalie arguments. He will say that Connor Hellebuyk is a phenomenal goalie when discussing the Jets record. Thus will be right after dismissing the Wings’ record due to goalies luck boxing their way to wins. I am not saying we are conducting a master class or anything to our record. That being said, Talbot is awesome and Lyon can be if not overtaxed. Goalie may be a strength for the short term if healthy and having a very good outlook for the future with Cossa and Augustine. Goalies are part of the team too. At this point, I would say a strength and should be considered in the DNA of the team, not just an afterthought. Shesterkin is considered in a big way for the Rangers and their success. I want more runway and time for sure, but I think we need to consider giving Talbot/Lyon the same kudos. I would not put them in the problem side of the spreadsheet and have them solidly in the strengths. Hoping they are consistent the rest of the way.

Wonder if the sentiment changes if the bunch of posts hit were goals in the first two periods of the Rangers game.

Husso threw the game. When you let in a cluster of goals in a short amount of time (as he always does), your players start to panic. Missing the net, mishandling, etc. They know what to expect from him and he should never take the ice again.

  • @TheKjlongtine

I do see positives. The problem is they are minuet and behind schedule to the "rebuild". The Ducks game was probably the most glaring example of the discrepancy on the D line - As soon as Seider and Ed get off, the ice tilts and we get peppered. If we keep status quo on the D line up - it's going to be a slog and no playoffs. Might need to trade draft picks or developing assets to trade and do whatever to the cap to get a more capable D pairing in here sooner than later.

  • @willsmithmachine5244
    @willsmithmachine5244 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Team defense and goaltending is better, but the lack of speed and firepower behind the 1st line is a HUGE issue. Copp, Compher, Kane as a 3rd line would be decent, but if it's your 2nd line, that means the depth is bad. The best teams in the league don't give you any time and space - The Red Wings do the complete opposite and the reason why the PK is so bad too. Can't let your opponents be comfortable, they need to start playing more aggressively. Same applies to the forecheck.

The team has not been electrifying so far! The 16 games are groundbreaking but not hopeless in reaching our playoff goal.
What I have been criticizing for over 2 years is that the young players are not getting enough use. They might not be better, but they are getting more game experience. This would be more valuable for the future team than paying 2-3 veterans between $5-6 million. They should rather get a top player for $8-12 million. If not, then we should just leave everything alone and continue to go around in circles and not change anything (ironic).
I give Lalonde a certain amount of blame. Since he has been in Detroit, he has not really made a difference. Bashill even had to work with a worse team. I don't see any system in Lalonde that he wants to convey. In the press conferences he always says the same thing. He also shows no passion, which Detroit fans love. Even if we are last in the league, we love our team, we have passion.
    Let Zetterberg coach the team!

Wings had the same defensive issues as last year - they were outscored. Yzerman, not knowing and having to budget money for Raymond/Seider might have handcuffed him a bit - but reality is they were always going to be a bubble WC card. Perry should never see an NHL ice sheet. What confuses me is why is anyone surprised? There is no regression…. It’s the same middling team they have been the last 3 years and it will continue to be until there is ELITE talent acquired. The NHL is a league of elite game breaking…. Detroit doesn’t have it yet.

Fans have a right to be upset but idk how you go into this season thinking we are a 'good team' talent wise. Detroit as of the start of the LaLonde tenure is an 80-90 pt team. THATS NOT A PLAYOFF COMPETITIVE TEAM! It's very mediocre. It's not surprising; it shouldn't be a hard reality to accept right now. You got a taste of improvement and now you're a fiend? Ok. Our top 3 prospects arguably by ppg are Buchnelikov (21pts in 24), Kiiskinen(injured, 16pts in 18games) and ASP(14pts in 17). All overseas; I believe ASP could make the Raymond/Seider type graduation to the NHL ; point is they're not in NA. Whether you believe smaller ice affects that is open to debate. If Yzerman sells at the deadline is the 'smart fanbase' gonna go conspiracy mode and accuse him of sabotage again?

The biggest difference this year compared to last year is that Red Wing is boring as hell to watch trying to play a game they can't handle.
It has to do with their head coach for sure. Three years and none of his three different teams can play as he wants, scandal with RW history and identity.
RW is on its way to nine straight years of not making the playoffs.
NINE years in a row and the head coach who thinks he is happy with parts of the game.. Only Buffalo beats them in having more years of failure in a row, when Buffalo succeeds RW is the NHL laughing stock, thank you very much S.Y.
S.Y has a huge responsibility here and he doesn't get a lot of crap from the media or streamers, probably because he is considered God in hockey town. The team he assembled this year is laughable to watch and follow from overseas

@@workshoptelescope You probably weren't saying that last year when they won like their first 10 games. Roster really isn't much different from last year. @ yes. Yes I was saying that last year. They were winning games on the back of an unsustainable shooting percentage which eventually regressed.
When it did, this is what they are.
What changed is Gostisbehere, Walman, and left, while Kane, Chairot, and Petry are even older and more terrible. The replacement signings were all observably worse. “Energy” and other intangibles seem to be what everyone retreats to in light of more observable, material causes with this team. No D and no goalies and they look like an AHL team out there getting dummied by better teams. Yzerman got way too much credit in Tampa Bay. He was my favorite player growing up but I've never had blinders on for him like so many fans do or former teammates like McCarty does on Woodward him and those dopes on that show refuse to criticize him and this roster. @japaleno-man หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Those moves are only head scratching if you think he's trying to make the playoffs this year. He's not. He's still building for the future and part of that process is to let Edvinsson and AJo play more which doesn't happen if Ghost, Walman and Maatta are still on the team. Berggren and Kasper would probably not be playing as much if Perron, Fabbri and Sprong were still here. Next year we could see Cossa, Danielson and ASP but they need time and experience too. There will be some growing pains but these things need to happen.
