I left my abusive husband of 17 years and went into hiding with our son. That was 4 yrs ago. It has been so hard. I recently lost my job due to being furloughed. But I believe God, who never sleeps or slumbers, has us. HE has a plan. And as hard as it is, it is still better than going back to getting beat every day terrified of saying or doing the wrong thing. I listen to this over and over. I am finally through with a abusive husband of 6 years. I didn't leave him he was taken out of my life. He was a far worse man than I could have imagined. All the pain and suffering he put me through can not compare to the ultimate betrayal. One morning at 5 AM the police and feds knocked on our door. They searched his computer and found child porn on there. I am so wounded and tired. I am 27 years old and I feel like I am 100. But I pick myself up and keep going for my three children and can only do so because of songs like this and reading my bible. I might be down but I'm not dead.

This song had such a big impact on my life for months... I stood by my husbands side while he battled brain cancer for 10 years... In 2013 his brain cancer started spreading fast.. he had 4 brain surgeries in 15 months... In 2014 was the hardest year of them all on both of us... he could not talk.. walk or feed himself... he was bed ridden for a year... I stood by his side until he went to go be the Lord a month ago... I miss him so much :( This song is still giving me HOPE! A HOPE that I will learn to laugh again... live again and love again.... My uncle died of this year (2016) he felt like my father at times he followed God everyday until his last breath. Sometimes I feel just like crying for hours and now I lost my house during the Louisiana flood. My dog died as well and I cried a lot cause he was my best friend but I know God is in control.
My wife had total Renal Failure. Went on emergency dialysis. Was on dialysis for 6 months. Sent to have her temporary port changed to permanent. Doctor said wait. Two weeks later no dialysis. She has been dialysis free for last two years. Dialysis port removed. God healed her.
This morning when all hope felt lost, The LORD reminded me that HOPE IS IN FRONT OF ME - JESUS CHRIST. Thank you Danny for such a wonderful song. It's easy to forget that a temporary setback is only temporary.

Danny Gokey and his band came to our area to put on a special tribute concert in honor of my friend's daughter who'd ended her life earlier that year. He even went out to lunch with my friend so he could hear more about her daughter. Proceeds from the concert went to the suicide prevention non-profit my friend founded. It was just absolute magic.
People that end their life, go to hell. I have depression a lot & I’ve had suicidal thoughts but I’m trying to stay strong because I don’t want to go to hell. I want to go to heaven to see my grandma up there😭😭😭😭it’s been almost 1 year that she’s been gone. I miss her with all my heart. I love this songs this reminds me. Of the time where I was in that dark place in my life. When my mother died December 11 2020 I felt lost. Like apart of me died with her.
I am also a witness that this song is right on target, and speaks to me every time I play it. I put myself into this song, and when the song is over, I am also walking away with the others. I am 51 years old, and have had to start my life over, being I lost my job, the place where I lived for 5 and half years, the car I drove, and practically my family. They all turned their backs on me, except my dad, my daughter and sister. Everyone else seemed to have walked away, but God never did.. I am one month away from graduating at Colorado Technical University with a Bachelors in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Human Services. It's been the only family besides the 3 family members I mentioned earlier, and it's going to be hard to go back out into the work world, and face many challenges. I know, there is Hope in front of me, I just got to believe. I've had multiple health problems in the past two two months, when listening to this song it puts everything back into perspective, that there is still "Hope" and all things will come together for the good that love God and are called according to his purpose.

Isn't it nice that there are so many more options nowadays for Christian music? I'm not much for hymns either. Now there's even Christian rap and rock - the later of which for example, is Skillet. I found them from an amv with their song Hero, and then their songs Awake and Alive and What I Believe (though those might not be the correct titles). So now I can listen to rockin' songs at work without having to have a bunch of profanity and sexual lyrics in them!

I'm deal with greiving of my mom who die from cancer two years. I'm still try to take in the reality with her not being here. But I know she in a better place with our Savior Jesus. Danny Gokey wrote this song for his wife who he lost in a car accident. He made this song through the things he was going through. The things we go through the pain and hurt don't last forever.
It's funny how God puts song lyrics in your head to the point where you have to look up the song in order to keep from going insane. I didn't know the entire song or the title before I heard the tail end on the radio tonight and looked it up on the song list for that station. After playing it a couple of times in my car, I felt a little better. Then I got home and started playing it a few more times and it just clicked! I just got put on academic suspension recently from my college. Honestly I'm not even that upset about actually failing that bad. What I'm upset about is that now I have to leave the best family I've ever come to know and have to go back to my actual family that doesn't really care for me that much. Particularly my mother. I specifically got a job working night shift just to avoid her while I'm stuck at home. I've been talking to my friends and begging them to call me every once in a while so that I don't feel completely alone and forgotten while I'm back home where I have no one. But overall I've just been acting so defeated because of this. Then this song finally clicks with me and I just get it! I still have hope here. For one, I had a plan from the start; work at my job, save up money, and get a place back in Valdosta and leave behind all of my pain and misery in the past. Second, my friends are all behind me on this. They all agreed to call me every so often to keep me in the loop and make sure I'm not so lonely. But finally, God's brought me through much, much, worse than this before. And I came out stronger for it. This situation can't hurt me now unless I let it hurt me because I have so much more on my side now. I have my friends, my strategically placed job, and my position of server will let me interact with people on a regular basis. There is so much hope in front of me right now!
Same thing happened here. Had this song in my head this morning and I had to play it lol. But I can relate to your situation I've been there (academic suspension) and I am now just a couple of credits away from graduation. God has things in store for you don't give up even when you don't know how to get out of a situation or what to do maintain your faith and keep praying. He will see you through, I am a living witness.
MyLW1 It's just a little sad that the thing that I'm upset about had nothing to do with the actual suspension, but instead my having to go back to my family as a result of the suspension. But so far, my job is working out really well. I should be starting my training on the floor within a day or two. So that'll keep me out of the house and also allow me to really start saving up my money for a place in Valdosta to get out of here. For the first time since I got home for break, I'm really happy. I feel like I have a purpose again. I know where my life is headed again. And I owe that newfound sense of purpose (Mainly to God) in part to Danny Gokey and his song. I saw this video again after it clicked and kind of just added my own problems into the video. And by the end of it, I felt like I was walking off with these guys.
This is a beautiful song. One of the teens asked to sing it during worship. I watched the video because I wasn't familiar with it. The second time I played it because I wanted to take notes. At one point I stopped it, when I started it again Danny was holding the sign that said hope. I didn't remember seeing it when I played it all the way through. So I did it again... didn't see the sign until the end. Fourth time, I stopped it and when it started he was holding the sign. Either I'm seeing things or he has some blessed video skills. I asked her to sing it before my sermon, I will share this song of hope as part of the message to the congregation on Mother’s Day. With all of the violence we are seeing, we MUST hold on the hope that is in front of us. Blessings on your gift.
I was called ugly and got treated differently for a reason I never understood when I was 6. I now understand that I had God in me and no one else liked that. I have amazing friends and an amazing family that has shown me how amazing I am. God keeps giving me the courage to keep going and I thank him every day for that. I deserved to be loved. I absolutely love this song, and yes I cry because it reminds me of all my weaknesses and their is still hope in front of me. 2024 was the hardest year for me as the devil kept pulling me in, and I felt for his love until God went and pulled me in and reminded me of his love. I am so thankful for this song because it reminds me that.. no matter how many times we are knocked down that your journey is just beginning, and that doors that were closed are still opening. I hope that God will help me beat my disorder that doctors haven't been able to help me with and the addictions I struggle with everyday. Please pray for me, my struggles are unbearable but I put my faith in God that somehow I can beat these things.
I have no idea what your disorder or symptoms are but you might look into mthfr.net A lot of people with B vitamin issues have addiction problems and other issues. Getting the right type of B12 and folate can help immensely. Peace.
Dear Jillian, I find it wonderful how we may be far apart but I can help by praying for you. (I did). I prayed that you draw closer to Jesus in this time, for it is not you who is fighting, but our Lord Jesus who fights - and He always wins. You are willing to break free from your addiction, surely, He will help you overcome. You can not do it yourself - you would've done so by now. Keep placing your hope in Him, be with Jesus every day, and most importantly, be still, be patient. His plans are bigger than ours and He may choose to use you to help others during this time.

I have walked through a good darkness in my life. Drug addiction severe depression watching my mother go through chemo and it took me to a place so dark I couldn’t see any light except the deception that i should find that light in suicide. People you the things He can do in your life is unimaginable but will manifest rapidly once you truly hit your knees and completely let Him in and let Him take over your hearts and your life. I knew of this song before I left for Army BCT this summer, but never really thought it would impact me as much as it did. it became the song that I would sing in my head to get through the long days and seemingly longer nights. And as if a sign from God, the first song I heard on the radio after I graduated was this song.
I left my abusive husband of 17 years and went into hiding with our son. That was 4 yrs ago. It has been so hard. I recently lost my job due to being furloughed. But I believe God, who never sleeps or slumbers, has us. HE has a plan. I listen to this over and over. I am finally through with a abusive husband of 6 years. I didn't leave him he was taken out of my life. He was a far worse man than I could have imagined. All the pain and suffering he put me through can not compare to the ultimate betrayal. One morning at 5 AM the police and feds knocked on our door. They searched his computer and found child porn on there. I am so wounded and tired. I am 27 years old and I feel like I am 100. But I pick myself up and keep going for my three children and can only do so because of songs like this and reading my bible. I might be down but I'm not dead.

I was diagnosed at 2 years old with a condition where excess fluid builds up on the brain,And normally this condition can be life threatening,& since the age of 3 I have had 10 to 12 major surgeries plus at the age of 16 I was diagnosed with Epilepsy after having a surgery in 1988.BUT GOD!!!!!! 10 years later in 1998,The Lord healed me of epilepsy & my doctor took me off of all of my meds,THANK U JESUS!!!!!!!! My last surgery was last July in 2013 & the Lord truly came through for me!!!! Yes,There is HOPE in Jesus Christ!!!!!!!! =D

This song had such a big impact on my life for months... I stood by my husbands side while he battled brain cancer for 10 years... In 2013 his brain cancer started spreading fast.. he had 4 brain surgeries in 15 months... In 2014 was the hardest year of them all on both of us... he could not talk.. walk or feed himself... he was bed ridden for a year... I stood by his side until he went to go be the Lord a month ago... I miss him so much :( This song is still giving me HOPE! A HOPE that I will learn to laugh again... live again and love again.... Love this song :)

My uncle died of this year (2016) he felt like my father at times he followed God everyday until his last breath. Sometimes I feel just like crying for hours and now I lost my house during the Louisiana flood. My dog died as well and I cried a lot cause he was my best friend but I know God is in control.

My wife had total Renal Failure. Went on emergency dialysis. Was on dialysis for 6 months. Sent to have her temporary port changed to permanent. Doctor said wait. Two weeks later no dialysis. She has been dialysis free for last two years. Dialysis port removed. God healed her.

Danny Gokey and his band came to our area to put on a special tribute concert in honor of my friend's daughter who'd ended her life earlier that year. He even went out to lunch with my friend so he could hear more about her daughter. Proceeds from the concert went to the suicide prevention non-profit my friend founded. It was just absolute magic.

I love this songs this reminds me. Of the time where I was in that dark place in my life. When my mother died December 11 2020 I felt lost. Like apart of me died with her.
I felt the Holy Spirit comforting me. Like he was holding me.
I am also a witness that this song is right on target, and speaks to me every time I play it. I put myself into this song, and when the song is over, I am also walking away with the others. I am 51 years old, and have had to start my life over, being I lost my job, the place where I lived for 5 and half years, the car I drove, and practically my family. They all turned their backs on me, except my dad, my daughter and sister. Everyone else seemed to have walked away, but God never did.. I am one month away from graduating at Colorado Technical University with a Bachelors in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Human Services. It's been the only family besides the 3 family members I mentioned earlier, and it's going to be hard to go back out into the work world, and face many challenges. I know, there is Hope in front of me, I just got to believe. I've had multiple health problems in the past two two months, when listening to this song it puts everything back into perspective, that there is still "Hope" and all things will come together for the good that love God and are called according to his purpose.

Isn't it nice that there are so many more options nowadays for Christian music? I'm not much for hymns either. Now there's even Christian rap and rock - the later of which for example, is Skillet. I found them from an amv with their song Hero, and then their songs Awake and Alive and What I Believe (though those might not be the correct titles). So now I can listen to rockin' songs at work without having to have a bunch of profanity and sexual lyrics in them!

It's funny how God puts song lyrics in your head to the point where you have to look up the song in order to keep from going insane. I didn't know the entire song or the title before I heard the tail end on the radio tonight and looked it up on the song list for that station. After playing it a couple of times in my car, I felt a little better. Then I got home and started playing it a few more times and it just clicked! I just got put on academic suspension recently from my college. Honestly I'm not even that upset about actually failing that bad. What I'm upset about is that now I have to leave the best family I've ever come to know and have to go back to my actual family that doesn't really care for me that much. Particularly my mother. I specifically got a job working night shift just to avoid her while I'm stuck at home. I've been talking to my friends and begging them to call me every once in a while so that I don't feel completely alone and forgotten while I'm back home where I have no one. But overall I've just been acting so defeated because of this. Then this song finally clicks with me and I just get it! I still have hope here. For one, I had a plan from the start; work at my job, save up money, and get a place back in Valdosta and leave behind all of my pain and misery in the past. Second, my friends are all behind me on this. They all agreed to call me every so often to keep me in the loop and make sure I'm not so lonely. But finally, God's brought me through much, much, worse than this before. And I came out stronger for it. This situation can't hurt me now unless I let it hurt me because I have so much more on my side now. I have my friends, my strategically placed job, and my position of server will let me interact with people on a regular basis. There is so much hope in front of me right now!
Same thing happened here. Had this song in my head this morning and I had to play it lol. But I can relate to your situation I've been there (academic suspension) and I am now just a couple of credits away from graduation. God has things in store for you don't give up even when you don't know how to get out of a situation or what to do maintain your faith and keep praying. He will see you through, I am a living witness.
MyLW1 It's just a little sad that the thing that I'm upset about had nothing to do with the actual suspension, but instead my having to go back to my family as a result of the suspension. But so far, my job is working out really well. I should be starting my training on the floor within a day or two. So that'll keep me out of the house and also allow me to really start saving up my money for a place in Valdosta to get out of here. For the first time since I got home for break, I'm really happy. I feel like I have a purpose again. I know where my life is headed again. And I owe that newfound sense of purpose (Mainly to God) in part to Danny Gokey and his song. I saw this video again after it clicked and kind of just added my own problems into the video. And by the end of it, I felt like I was walking off with these guys.

This is a beautiful song. One of the teens asked to sing it during worship. I watched the video because I wasn't familiar with it. The second time I played it because I wanted to take notes. At one point I stopped it, when I started it again Danny was holding the sign that said hope. I didn't remember seeing it when I played it all the way through. So I did it again... didn't see the sign until the end. Fourth time, I stopped it and when it started he was holding the sign. Either I'm seeing things or he has some blessed video skills. I asked her to sing it before my sermon, I will share this song of hope as part of the message to the congregation on Mother’s Day. I prayed that you draw closer to Jesus in this time, for it is not you who is fighting, but our Lord Jesus who fights - and He always wins. You are willing to break free from your addiction, surely, He will help you overcome. You can not do it yourself - you would've done so by now. Keep placing your hope in Him, be with Jesus every day, and most importantly, be still, be patient. His plans are bigger than ours and He may choose to use you to help others during this time.

I have walked through a good darkness in my life. Drug addiction severe depression watching my mother go through chemo and it took me to a place so dark I couldn’t see any light except the deception that i should find that light in suicide. People you the things He can do in your life is unimaginable but will manifest rapidly once you truly hit your knees and completely let Him in and let Him take over your hearts and your life. There is literally no shadow and no darkness that His light cannot shine upon. Thank you and i praise you God. Keep y’all’s chins up people He loves you even if you don’t love yourself. I knew of this song before I left for Army BCT this summer, but never really thought it would impact me as much as it did. it became the song that I would sing in my head to get through the long days and seemingly longer nights. And as if a sign from God, the first song I heard on the radio after I graduated was this song.
